Photostability of selected bacteriochlorins, bacteriochlorophyll a and bacteriopheophytin a, in different methanol solutions (with and without lipids) during continual UV-A, UV-B and visible light treatments were studied using absorption UV-VIS spectroscopy providing kinetic analysis. Applied irradiation treatments resulted in irreversible degradation of both selected bacteriochlorins obeying the first order of kinetics. Bacteriopheophytin a showed significantly higher photostability in comparison to bacteriochlorophyll a for all applied irradiation treatments, for about one to three orders of magnitude. Photochemical degradation of bacteriochlorins is energy dependant process, governed by photons energy input.Lipid environment play stability role for both bacteriochlorins against all, UV-A, UV-B and visible light treatments. Bacteriopheophytin a induced lipid peroxidation processduring UV-A irradiation treatment.","PeriodicalId":351621,"journal":{"name":"Chemia Naissensis","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133536059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fourteen metals (Al, Ca, Fe, Mg, Na, Ag, As, Ba, Cd, Cu, Cr, Hg, Pb, and Sr) content and four soil chemical characteristics (pH H2O, pH KCl, organic matter content, and conductivity) were determined in 15 soil samples collected near road in urban area of Niš. Element with the highest concentration in analyzed samples was Ca (35.8 mg g-1). Among the analyzed microelements, Pb had the highest concentration (0.352 mg g-1). Hierarchical cluster analysis divided samples into two statistically significant clusters. Application of PCA analysis indicated soil chemical characteristic impact on metal content and permitted separation of metal content based on soil chemical characteristics.","PeriodicalId":351621,"journal":{"name":"Chemia Naissensis","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130512738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The elemental and morphological features of clinoptilolite used as a sorbent in dispersive micro-solid phase extraction (D-μ-SPE) of BaP from water samples, before Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry determination (GC – MS) is described. SEM micrographs demonstrated agglomerated particles of Clinoptilolite with no changes in particles, but with increased porosity for Clinoptilolite modified at 300 and 400 oC. The content of elements is lower in thermally modified Clinoptilolite at higher temperatures (300 and 400 oC) than for clinoptilolite treated at 120 oC. After the extraction, EDX analysis of clinoptilolite adsorbed BaP, showed the increased percentage of carbon in the modification prepared at 300 oC, indicating the structure of the applied sorbent is more suitable compared to one treated at 400 oC. Recovery values of surrogate standards demonstrate good extraction efficiency for modification at 300 oC and 400 oC, but cheaper modification (prepared at 300 oC) was selected for BaP analysis.","PeriodicalId":351621,"journal":{"name":"Chemia Naissensis","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114238282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antioxidant activity and HPLC profiles of their methanolic extracts were determined and compared. Flavonoid compounds found in both samples were rutin, apigenin glucoside, quercetin, luteolin, kaempferol and apigenin, while detected phenolic acids were chlorogenic acid, p-coumaric acid, cynarine and rosmarinic acid. The only observed qualitative difference was related to the presence of vanillic acid. Extract of A. alba from Rosomač was richer in phenolic compounds and flavonoids than A. alba from Mojinci. The extract of A. alba from Rosomač also possessed higher antioxidant capacity than A. alba from Mojinci, which was especially noticed in the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl assay. Only the results for the ferric ion reducing antioxidant power assay were higher for extract of A. alba from Mojinci, than for the extract of A. alba from Rosomač.","PeriodicalId":351621,"journal":{"name":"Chemia Naissensis","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124850400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of our research was the comparison of two methods for the preparation of samples, the determination of the contents of elements, and the comparison of obtained results with the maximum allowed concentrations. The first preparation method consists of digestion with 18.5% HCl, and the other method is the digestion with aqua regia. Regarding the extraction of some secondary nutrients and micronutrients (Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, and B) from NPK fertilizer, better extraction was achieved using the first method for B, Ca, and Mg, while the other method was better for Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn. On the basis of the results of the analysis, the digestion with aqua regia is suitable for almost all investigated 3d metals from both samples, except for NPK, for which the degree of the extraction is somewhat higher. Determined concentrations of some toxic elements (As, Cr, Cd, Ni, and Pb) do not cross the maximum allowable concentrations (MAC).","PeriodicalId":351621,"journal":{"name":"Chemia Naissensis","volume":"82 12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128159146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The subject of this work is an investigation of the elemental composition of Xanthium italicum ripe and unripe seed collected in Temska using ICP OES. Out of the analyzed macroelements, potassium is the one with the highest concentration, and its content significantly differs in the ripe and unripe seeds. Iron showed five times higher concentration in unripe (27.7 µg/g) compared to ripe (6.2 µg/g) seed. The content of Ba, Cr, Cu, Mn, Pb, and Zn also differ in the ripe and unripe stages of the analyzed seed, which indices that elemental composition is affected by the vegetative stage.
