{"title":"Fruitfulness of Georgian Oak (Quvercus iberica Stev.) in Kakheti Region","authors":"M. Samadashvili","doi":"10.52340/TUW.2021.437","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52340/TUW.2021.437","url":null,"abstract":"We studied the fruitfulness of Georgian Oak in Kakheti Region: in the gorge of the river Batsara in Akhmeta municipality at an altitude of 650-700m above the sea level, with oak dominance in a grove represented by a slope of up to 150 slopes of south-western exposure. Akhmeta municipality of Kakheti region was selected for the study of the issue, where in two different ecotopes and forest-type groves, sample areas with a size of 50 X 50 m were taken..In addition, we have divided the model tree drills allocated to the sample areas into two parts, namely, the parts facing the north and south exposures, and several sections of the tree trunk - the lower, middle and upper sections. Separately, we studied the seed yield and the difference between these indicators in terms of both exposure and vertical parts of the exercise - both quantitatively and by weight. We also observed the shape, size and other characteristics of the oak fruits on the sample areas, according to which the shape of the oak is oval, slightly elongated, with an average size of 2.8 cm. Length and 1.1 cm. Width. On average, 655 pieces (65.5%) of the fruit were found to be fit - healthy, and the rest (34.5%) - underdeveloped, damaged and incapable of emergence. These indicators are of great importance in the production of forestry and cultural works. In all sample areas, due to the better quality of insolation, the oak productivity is better in the southern part than in the north. With proper protection and care in the Georgian oak groves of Kakheti, it is possible to get an average of 1 ton of fruit per 1 ha, which is quite enough to achieve the best indicators of its natural renewal and to prevent these difficult problems. Before the construction of the Mingechevir reservoir, 681 species of plants belonging to 74 families and 325 genera were found here. As a result of our research in the valley in 2019-2021, only 154 species were found, belonging to 24 families and 36 genera. As a result of changes during the last 70 years of the hydrographic regime, the influence of edaphic, physical, anthropogenic factors, the original vegetation cover of the Mingechevir Valley has completely changed, and urbanization, land reclamation and other works have further accelerated these changes. If the successions that have begun are not prevented, there may be a risk of destruction of the high-pressure earth dam built in Europe using the leaching method. {"title":"Figurative Comparison in Tedo Razikashvili's Works","authors":"Elene Philashvili","doi":"10.52340/TUW.2021.445","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52340/TUW.2021.445","url":null,"abstract":"The article discusses the figurative comparison in Tedo Razikashvili's prose language, as one of the defining factors of style and one of the best means of revealing the outside world, which, naturally, determines the aesthetic and emotional function of the text.Tedo Razikashvili's stories are characterized by the diversity figurative comparisons. comparisons., in his works, the author mostly compares animate and inanimate things, humans and animals.In Tedo Razikashvili's stories, comparative constructions are made with the following grammatical connections: as if, as though and with separate adverbs and words: -ვით {-vit} as; -ებრ {-ebr} like/as, -თანა {-tana} like/as , -ტოლა {-tola} like, ktseuli {-ქცეული} and others. Sometimes in comparative constructions there are not used any connectives and that gives those constructions an emotional coloring. Figurative comparison in terms of expression is very interesting; the reader feels the writer's message vividly, clearly imagines the picture or scene that the writer tries to describe.We believe that figurative comparison is one of the defining factors in Tedo Razikashvili's prose language and writing style. At this point, there is some discussion about the nature of the resource that needs to be protected. This discussion touching on the relationship between human capital and natural capital has led to the emergence of the concepts of weak and strong sustainability, i.e., models of weak and strong sustainable development.The emergence of weak and strong sustainable development models, the basics and principles that differs them from each other, as well as the study and analysis of the arguments of the supporters of these approaches, are of great relevance. This cultural heritage is known not only in Azerbaijan, but also all over the world. Since antiquity, there were large libraries in Azerbaijan. The Institute of manuscripts of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences has a collection of 453 medical manuscripts, dating from the IX century. Seventy three manuscripts were written in Arabic, sixty ones – in Turkic (Azeri and Ottoman Turkish) and three thousand twenty ones - in Persian languages. In 29 July 2005 UNESCO officially included three medieval medical manuscripts from the Institute of Manuscripts of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences into the register of the Memory of the World Program which includes the most unique and irreplaceable written monuments of the humankind. The Certificate confirming this decision was presented to the Institute of Manuscripts by Dr. Matsuura, the head of UNESCO. One of them oldest copies of the second volume of “Canon of Medicine” (1030) by Ibn Sina, know in the West as Avicenna (980-1037). Second book is “Zakhira-I Nizamshahi” was written in the XIII century by the famous Central Asian author Zeynaddin Ibn Abu Ibrahim Jurjani. The manuscripts are unique and not found in other manuscripts deposits in the world. The third book is “al-Maqalatun Salasun” by Abulkasim Zakhravı. One of the rarest and most ancient manuscripts of this book in the World. King Vakhtang's intellect was accessible to completely different fields of science, such as history, jurisprudence, philosophy, astronomy-astrology, chemistry, medicine, grammar, textology, pedagogy. Not to mention the writing, where he said a decent word. Despite the difficult political situation, King Vakhtang VI still managed to create a prosperous cultural and educational environment in the country. With his initiative and support, the first printing house was established in Georgia in 1709. With the revival of the printed word, writing opened up vital space, giving more thought to thinking.By printing \"The Knight in the Panther's Skin\" the foundation was laid for the scientific study of the text of the poem - the work of restoration, the foundation was given to the most important field - Rustvelology.The literature of the Renaissance period is characterized by a number of novelties associated to the name of the King Vakhtang VI. The King, endowed with creative talent, contributed in every way to the development of new fields of science, the introduction of new themes and genres in literature. Understanding the national problem, trying to establish it and turning it into a spiritual need is the niche of Vakhtang's creativity.The only spiritual refuge of the king tired of life was the Christian faith. \"The elaboration of religious themes, the cry to God, in addition to bringing spiritual peace to the deeply believing poet, at the same time he promoted the ideas of Christianity among the people and strengthened the religious faith.King Vakhtang VI not only enriched the Georgian literature with his original works, but also greatly contributed to his translation activities. His role in the development of lexicography was also great.The genius of Vakhtang VI can be discussed endlessly. On the basis of the stylistic studies, we can find out what stylistic devices or literary terms are used by the author; what makes his works so emotive, expressive and distinctive. Given article deals with the stylistic aspects of one of the famous English poets and writers Oscar Wilde’s fairy tales. For the research we have chosen the “The Happy Prince”, “The Selfish Giant”, “The Nightingale and the Rose”, “The Devoted Friend” . In the given work we tried to investigate and study the characteristic features of his works, the writer’s writing style and language of the tales and those stylistic devices which are used in above mentioned fairy-tales. Based on the research of the fairy-tales revealed that Oscar Wilde’s writing style is really distinctive and impressive as he uses a variety of literary or stylistic devices, that catches a reader’s attention. It should be mentioned that his lingual abilities are limitless and they are characterized by great emotiveness and expressiveness; consequently, he makes a strong impression on readers and makes them feel a part of the story. It is worth mentioning that Oscar Wilde’s fairy tales are based on personification, as there we find a great variety of its examples. There are also used repetition, parallel constructions and metaphors. Wilde, with his individual imagery and metaphorical style, immerses the reader in a sea of emotions, as his fairy tales are distinguished by the strong emotiveness and expressiveness. The experiments were carried out in the village Gulgula, Telavi district, in the agro – ecological conditions of the alluvial soils of the Alazani Valley during the years of 2019 – 2020. The experiment was arranged according to the following options: Option I – 2,5 X 1,5 meter scheme (control); Option II – 2,5 X 1,25 meter scheme; Option III – 2,5 X 2 meter scheme; According to the methodology green operations were carried out in each option during the first vegetation year, such as normalizing sprouts and removing suckers and after the completion of the vegetation, i.e. during the initial pruning of a young vine there was carried out the formation of a stem, which provided to speed up harvesting. The obtained results show that the technologies that speed up harvesting are effective and their usage provides good results in the vineyard planted with Rkatsiteli. During the analysis the hermeneutic method of text study, analysis and text research in the prism of literary sociology have been used. The verse is analyzed in view of poetry study too. Elegy: Necklace can be considered as part of long verse or mini-poem genre. When creating it, the author planned to write an elegy, although, the writing process prolonged and the text extended. Everyone agrees that Elegy: Necklace is the start of something new in Georgian poetry. When we speak about literary movement, which one of them the mini-poem belongs to, we presume that it is either postmodernism or neonaturalism. The lyrical “I” is represented as the true “I” and with all the clear and unappealable naturalism tells the story of eternal love, told either by items or life events; either ups or downs. The poem is led by Murman Lebanidze’s poem title – Getting Used to Being Without You! which precisely reflects its main mood; Murman Lebanidze dedicated this poem to his deceased spouse and speaks about struggling to get used to living without her. The “internal dialogue” of the author and his beloved one does not stop and it is spoken about by items, gravestone and in the final part of the poem, the blue dove, as the sign of eternal connection between souls in love, as the symbol of immortal love. For more naturalism slang, barbarism and neologism are used in the poem. It is noteworthy that the poem is conventional or traditional, despite the fact that current poetry mainstream is a verse libre. The poem is distinguished by amazing euphony and tempo-rythm. The poem expresses the unusual humor and irony, which are the signs of Vakhtang Javakhadze’s style. In the paper the main attention is drown on sensation of color in Valerian Gaprindashvili's creativity. Color as comparison, as epithet, as metaphor, symbol and manner of allegoric description has exclusive charge in the artistic and cogitative system of any great creator. The aim of the article is colours’ structural-semantic analyze and to gain argumentive materials.The theme is actual because nowadays the interest on colour indicating vocabulary is increasing and Georgian linguists paid their attention on it as well. The survey showed that Georgian symbolists were very interesting phenomena in studing colors. Color artistic analyze has an important part in Valerian Gaprindashvili works. White color dominates in poesy of Val. Gaphrindashvili. As a result of analyzing the symbolism of colors white color is considered as a symbol of light. In some cases white color is symbol of coldness, austerity and in other ones is symbol of concinnity. One can meet black, red, blue, green and yellow colors as well that have semantic charge in his poetry.Color symbols are changeable through time and culture. According to this studying the theme fully is not possible.
