However, such calculations are very time-consuming and this poses practical problems. The answer might be to use other alternative methods (not based on 3D models), which would make it possible to obtain appropriately accurate results. Comparison of calculation results obtained with elaborated alternative computational methods for electromagnetic circuits of disk-type induction motors is given in this paper. The results have been compared with FEM 3D results and verified by lab test results (tests run with a physical motor model). When definite simplifications are adopted, the alternative computational methods make it possible to reduce computational time in a significant way. The achieved results are highly convergent with results acquired for real model.","PeriodicalId":349940,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (PEMC)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132013450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main benefit of the modular concept is that different current or voltage requirements can be satisfied based on the appropriate series or parallel connection of single modules. The particular design is based on the fact that the single modules generate a continuous and specified output voltage from a given dc voltage. The current work focuses on a brief classification of this work in different series connected concepts of power converters and in particular on an active damping approach for the series connected LC output filters based on inductor current feedback.","PeriodicalId":349940,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (PEMC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130829279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, a multi-objective optimization (MOO) method is proposed to find the Pareto front of the DD charging pad. Then, the optimal design with a 96.82% efficiency is selected as the target design for the DIPT system. Based on the coupler mutual inductance at different misalignment, the orientation of the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) pads and the distance between Tx pads are studied and optimized. To obtain the dynamic characteristics of the DIPT system, the impact of mutual inductance variation is investigated, and a dynamic model using Laplace phasor transformation is built to solve the waveform amplitude of electrical variables. Finally, a time-variant circuit model is built. Based on the simulations, the dynamic model is proved to be accurate, and the proposed DIPT system displays a good dynamic charging performance.","PeriodicalId":349940,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (PEMC)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130883078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers are keen to overcome the implications of unbalanced wind energy on its active and reactive power output using bidirectional power flow pulse width modulation (PWM) converters. These converters incorporate slip power recovery methodology for regulating the power recovered from the wound rotor of the induction machine, or the power flow from the grid to convertors. This research paper has proposed a fractional-order calculus-based control mechanism for an optimized operation of proportional-integral controllers operated in fractional order domain in pulse width modulation converters for the output power regulation. A genetic algorithm is used to optimize the gains of this fractional-order proportional-integral controller. The proposed scheme helps in overcoming the transients and non-linearities occurring in the electrical grid due to variable wind speed. The time-domain analysis of the doubly-fed induction generator is expressed using an appropriate fitness function. A comparative analysis between conventional proportional-integral and fractional-order proportional-integral controllers tuned using pole-placement and genetic algorithm respectively confirms the efficiency of later technique by showing the reduced steady-state error of 1.44%, 0.63% and 0.11% for active power, reactive powers, and DC-link voltage, respectively.","PeriodicalId":349940,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (PEMC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131020289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers are keen to find a precise controller for the exact tracking of current and torque reference signals. This paper aims at implementing a Fractional Order Proportional and Integral (FOPI) controller for controlling the current of the switched reluctance motor. Extensive simulations are performed, and preliminary success has been achieved. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm is used to optimize the gains of the FOPI controller. For performance comparison, an Integer Order PI (IOPI) controller has also been implemented and optimized using the ACO algorithm and hit and trial method. The optimal FOPI controller outperforms the optimal IOPI controller in terms of transient and steady-state performance metrics.","PeriodicalId":349940,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (PEMC)","volume":"145 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132704920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This strategy improves the traction grid utilization of urban transportation systems. In addition, it offers a potential solution to the increasing requirement of charging infrastructure due to proliferation of plug-in EVs and the associated impact on the existing distribution network. This paper suggests that the use of multi-port converter based integration of EV chargers with dc trolley-bus network can be a preferred solution in terms of defined efficiency boundary. A sensitivity analysis to charging power, substation distance and section length of overhead contact system is performed in comparison to the conventional two-port dc/dc converter based EV integration.","PeriodicalId":349940,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (PEMC)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114189231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The machines are designed with different turn numbers because of slot type. It was found that the torque density is higher in the slotted AFPM, also in the slotted machine, higher number of PCB layer can be used to increase torque density because of constant magnetic flux density distribution. On the other hand, torque ripple is reduced when non-slotted machine is used. For small scale applications with high torque density requirements, it is better to use slotted PCB winding machines.","PeriodicalId":349940,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (PEMC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114260932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The idea of using spectral analysis of the stator phase current signal and its envelope to symptom extraction and the support vector machine to classify the fault is proposed. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed diagnostic method, experimental tests were conducted. The object of the experimental verification was a 2.5kW permanent magnet synchronous motor operating in a closed-loop control structure.
