When it comes to the experience of interacting in the place you visit, there are numerous kinds of platforms. During software development it is necessary to develop solutions that meet the needs of users.This paper reports the initial design phase of an e-tourism platform to support the relationships between different tourists while in the territory. We adopted an Ethnographic Design method to engage with users in the emerging touristic experiences. We engage distinct techniques personas, scenarios and prototyping to promote a profound understanding about the experience. The joint use of the techniques leaded the formulations of a set of requirements identified throughout the execution of each step of the method. These requirements were prototyped and will serve for the application developed to meet the needs of the identified target audience.","PeriodicalId":347531,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129320529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the use of IoT in cities to assist humans beings in their daily activities, it is necessary to extract and process as much information as possible and therefore, semantic web technologies are a key point. This new environment is known as the Semantic Web of Things (SWoT). The application of semantic techniques to IoT can improve interoperability, effective access to data, discovery of integration resources, reasoning and processing of knowledge extraction from data, opening up opportunities for new applications. We show an overview of the most relevant semantic technologies, focusing on SWoT and well-accepted ontologies for IoT and we stress that considering users’ preferences, interests and needs are of vital importance, as a complement to the semantic information extracted. This new scenario enables the development of advanced applications and services to meet user requirements and needs, in particular for smart city applications.","PeriodicalId":347531,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems","volume":"94 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127985332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the rise of the Covid-19 pandemic and the need to quarantine, this complex need has been truly affected on many sectors, and we became less connected. Technology was an important factor during the early days of the pandemic, with people starting to opt for certain systems and platforms that allowed them to stay in touch with each other, however nowadays, there are still massive limitations to these platforms when it comes to an interaction’s ambiance due to the lack of user immersion. In this paper, we present an MMORPG with a scalable infrastructure able to host events for hundreds of people, but most importantly that allows users to communicate in a more realistic manner with a set of functionalities that fulfil the goal to combat the undesirable isolation. To verify the effectiveness of our platform, questionnaires, and usability tests were conducted.","PeriodicalId":347531,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124000029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research results showed that the most used clusters in the teaching of parallel programming were assembled from multicore machines (Cluster Beowulf) and by single board computers (SBC), in addition to multicore machines with graphics acceleration cards (GPUs). Regarding the use of programming languages, software tools and parallelism libraries used in teaching parallel programming, it is observed that most of the researched works mentioned the use of C, C++, and JAVA programming languages, and as parallelism libraries the use of MPI, OpenMP, CUDA and Apache Hadoop. Furthermore, the tests on the clusters were carried out through the implementation of parallelized generic algorithms and, in some cases, using algorithms that involve matrix operations.","PeriodicalId":347531,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130102200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implementation of time synchronization protocols is of great importance in these networks, as they allow distributed and collaborative data acquisition. This paper shows the improvement in the synchronization accuracy that can be achieved applying long term synchronization protocols to time stamps acquired with UWB transceivers. The applications were submitted to all scenarios and in each scenario a call is made by Whatsapp and another by SOMAapp, which are made between two smartphones and transmitted a pre-recorded audio. The audio captured on the smartphone that received the call is the audio that suffered network degradation and is used for analysis using the tool available by the objective PESQ method which generates a MOS equivalent score between 1 (poor) and 5 (excellent). The evaluation was carried out in two stages. During the first stage, named preliminary tests, we checked how much applications’ QoS is affected by each factor. During the second stage, named evaluation scenarios, all factors were combined. To create the scenarios, the Core 4.8 network condition emulation tool was used. Finally, with the experiments it could be concluded that the SOMAapp application had mostly better performance than Whatsapp, because, in the preliminary scenarios, in 06 of the 09 scenarios it obtained higher average PESQ MOS scores. In its worst scenario, the difference was of 0.5 score. Another observation from the preliminary tests is that both were more affected by the jitter factor. In the second stage, in which the factors were combined, the application SOMAapp also presented better PESQ MOS grades, but presented a larger grade range, while whatsapp was more stable. Overall, out of the 37 scenarios, in 91.0% of cases the SOMAapp application scored higher.","PeriodicalId":347531,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129801775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Brazil, this area is showing significant growth in recent years. Among the activities carried out during the production process, the counting of animals in the initial stages can be highlighted. A large number of Brazilian aquaculture farms are small, turning difficult to acquire novel solutions for the automatic count of post-larvae. To mitigate this issue, this paper intends to develop a solution based on the performance evaluation of a set of counting models for use in embedded structures. In addition, this application can be scalable for counting different species and sizes. Besides, the dataset named Vivarium and its specifications is presented as proof of concept and used in the model evaluation. Results show that the prediction model based on convolutional neural networks is capable of verifying the compliance of images, achieving an accuracy of 99%.","PeriodicalId":347531,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133309965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mismatches of the motes’ clocks after synchronization and their effect on the signal phase shift are analyzed. The dispersion of the clock errors with deviations of the order of a hundred nanoseconds introduce random shifts that allow the signal to be sent in several directions randomly. This multi-directional pointing multi-CB is achieved with a gain that is lower than the maximum expected for an optimal delay distribution. However, although with a low probability, high transmission gains of up to 50% of the maximum theoretical gain are achieved. It is observed that the gain conforms to a Rayleigh distribution function, and that the SCB transmission procedure allows sending to distant receivers in any direction. In SCB transmission a percentage of packets would be lost, and this would result in a higher number of transmissions, with the consequent energy consumption and decrease in effective transmission speed.","PeriodicalId":347531,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121014956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
