The visual information transmitted in form of image is naturally corrupted by Gaussian noise which is classical problem in image processing. This additive random noise can be removed using wavelet denoising technique due to the ability to capture the energy of a signal in few energy transform values. In this paper, an investigation has been made on suitability wavelet thresholding and translation invariant methods of image denoising to remove noise using orthogonal wavelet basis. The performance of the image denoising is shown in terms of PSNR and visual performance. Since it has been proven by various researchers that PD patients owned significant gait deviation compared to normal adults, hence this study are conducted and will mainly focused on the basic, kinetic and kinematic measurements of human gait. Initial findings attained confirm that the ANN classifier successfully distinguished gait pattern between normal and PD gait with 81.25%, 81.25% and 84.38% success rate respectively for basic, kinetic and kinematic features solely. In addition, data fusion is performed for both basic and kinetic features, followed by basic and kinematic, kinetic and kinematic and all the three features. Monitoring of faults by identifying sensitive positions through sensory output forms vital part of everyday manufacturing. Health monitoring of a reciprocating air compressor using PC based data acquisition system and timely identification of potential faults can prevent failures of the entire system. Various transducers, data acquisition DAQ hardware and relevant software forms the basic components of the health monitoring system. Prior to acquiring the data for health monitoring and consequently the fault diagnosis, it is crucial to locate the sensitive positions on the machine. A simulation on a home wireless network for electrical appliance control applications is simulated and presented. It is a physical simulator that consists of hardware and software programmed that can replace wired home appliance control. Research has proved that the appliance control was successful but they are still being implemented in the wired communications networks. The setup of hardware communications in this research consists of a server, personal computer, a base node and another node as the actuator part. This application's key technique is programmed using the TinyOS programming code and also the nesC programming. The result of the study shows that Zigbex wireless sensor network could be an alternative method to control the home electrical appliance with the support of graphical user interface (GUI). This project has also produced a new programming code to control the hardware which has been shown in controlling the simulated system. Therefore, solutions are required to enhance the performance of an iris recognition system. Since pupil segmentation is one of the important tasks in iris localization procedure, in this paper, a technique to isolate the pupil boundary is discussed. We have proposed a new thresholding method based on the eye color map. This proposed method is experimentally applied to the CASIA database iris images and 100% accuracy is attained. Digital watermarking emerged as a tool for protecting the multimedia data from copyright infringement. It is a technique for labeling multi-media data, including digital images, text documents, video and audio clips, by hiding secret information in the data. In this paper, we propose a digital image watermarking technique in the wavelet domain approach. It embeds the watermark in the components of the third band of the DWT of an image. Our experimental results prove that LL2 is the best region we can embed the watermark. This project highlights an interactive learning system for electromagnetic and communication subjects using MATLAB program and its graphical user interface (GUI). The system needs the user to enter appropriate parameters into blank boxes in the GUI. Then, user can obtain the result by clicking the answer button. The designed program offers varieties of engineering problems such as propagation of waves, electric field intensity, plotting electric field, dot and cross product of vectors for electromagnetic part. While for communication part consists of High Frequency (HF) analysis and digital modulation. In digital modulation, user can generate and observe Amplitude-Shift Keying (ASK) signal and Frequency-Shift Keying (FSK) signal. The programs are user-friendly and have interactive tutorials and can be used as a powerful tool for improving the teaching process. The standalone program for this system has also been developed.
