Information and communication technology, namely the internet, has been recognized to provide a great potential and new opportunities to society as a whole, and to active aging in particular. Objective: The aim of this paper was to conduct a systematic literature review to determine the empirical literature produced since 2005 about the internet use applied to active aging. Method: Throughout the application of a serious of inclusion and exclusion criteria, 30 papers were identified and analyzed of 646 potentially relevant ones. Results: The study provides a comprehensive review of the main subject areas that research has focused, concerning the use of internet to promote active aging. With the functionalities of Facebook, they can criticize, praise, suggest or expect. The user's interactions with a brand page as posts, likes, shares or comments are getting more relevance in present days. The analysed data can give to decision-makers new approaches to run their business, understand their brand value against the competitors or even understand better what are the evaluations of customers or potential customers about the brand products or services. An Integrated Reporting provides information concerning risk evaluation and potential future value growth. Therefore, influencing risk management and audit, leading to the need for new assurance frameworks to assure the compliance of integrated information. The motivation of this research is at the level of assurance on Integrated Reporting. The research objective is to analyze the types of assurance provided on Integrated Reporting. The methodological approach undertakes a qualitative study on the assurance provided on Integrated Reporting. The empirical analysis develops a study of integrated reports related to 46 organizations. The obtained results indicate that more than half of the analyzed companies provide, in a voluntary basis, independent assurance, among others. This process promotes highest levels of accessibility, acceptance and use of the developed solutions. This is even more relevant when the target audience is the elderly. Interactive television applications can resolve some constrains that seniors feel when accessing informational content. So, this paper reports the field work of data collection and analysis, that aim to define the best way to interrupt the television broadcast in an iTV platform addressed to Portuguese seniors. To this end, participatory design sessions were organized in a focus group format where participants' preferences were collected. Facebook is one of the most users platforms in the world and is also highly valued as a communication tool by companies. In this field, the present research establishes several factors of interest to contemplate in the creation of a communication strategy in Facebook, focusing mainly on the coffee and pastry sector. The main results indicate that the determining factors that contribute to a good communication strategy are, in particular, the attention to detail of the shared contents and the care in maintaining close communication with the client, not forgetting the regular sharing of contents. The empirical study was based on 236,950 observations from 2010 to 2013. The accounting data were taken from the data base Bureau van Dijk's Amadeus. However, developers often disregard, or at least significantly adapt, existing software development processes to suit their purpose, given the existing specific constraints. Such adjustments can introduce variations and new trends in existing processes that in many occasions are not shared with the scientific community since there is no official documentation, thus justifying further research. In this paper, we present a study and characterization of current mobile application development processes based on a practical experience. We consider a set of real case studies to investigate the current development processes for mobile applications used by software development companies, as well as by independent developers. Commonly visually impaired develop their other senses to feel their surroundings, but in certain cases, this is not enough. The senses can be disturbed by noise or illness. For this reason, many artifacts have been developed to help this group of people. Artifacts such as white canes or guide dogs help sightless to move around in their surroundings. This article proposes the use of a system that detects and recognizes nearby obstacles, giving an audible warning in order to avoid a collision. The prototype is wireless with the purpose to be comfortable for the user. The system helps sightless to move around in indoor or outdoor environments.
