Aksenov “Burn”. The author’s mask is considered as a means of positioning the author in the text. The concepts of “author’, “narrator”, “author’s mask” were used for the analysis. For the first time, the phenomenon of the author's mask in the novel “The Burn” was subjected to a holistic study. As a result of the study, it was found that in the novel by V.P. Aksenov, thanks to the branched system of author’s masks, a complex and multidimensional narrative space is created. Through the mask as an image of a “possible other”, the prose writer comprehends the topics provocative for the aesthetics of late socialism: the relationship of the artist with the authorities, the homeland, the existence of a creative personality in a totalitarian state. The system of Apollinarievich’s author’s masks demonstrates not only the possible options for the personal fate of the “author of the real”, but also the behavioral strategy for the survival of a thinking and thinking intellectual within the framework of a totalitarian system. The author’s mask of Tolya von Steinbock is introduced by Aksenov into the novel in order to fully reflect his own “Magadan” childhood, to present a complex psychological self-portrait. The key means of creating author's masks are, firstly, numerous autobiographical parallels and correspondences generated by the total reflection of the prose writer about himself; secondly, steady transitions from the first person to the third and, on the contrary, confusing the reader and turning the text into an experimental space of a literary game. The research materials and general conclusions can be used in university courses in the history of Russian literature of the twentieth century, special courses and special seminars dedicated to the work of V. Aksenov. Since the author’s mask is becoming quite a common technique in postmodern literature, the methodology used is quite applicable to comprehend the prose of the 1990s–2000s, where there is a play with the author’s “voices” (V. Pelevin, V. Sorokin, A. The relevance of the study lies in the study of the ratio of means of secondary indirect nomination to designate society (sotsial’nyi lift) and the use of primary and secondary direct nomination of society to designate other fragments of the Russian language picture of the world (postavki oruzhiya “kapel’nym polivom”). The material of the press and oral talk-shows of experts (1160 examples) was analyzed. The methods of component analysis and the comparative method were used. The results of the study show the nominative activity of the Russian linguistic personality in the formal and informal nomination of society: the use of landscape (bol’shaya luzha), climatic (stoyat’ na raz”ezzhayushchikhsya l’dinakh), zoomorphic (giena Evropy), artifact (beskonechnyi dollar), historiomorphic (sharovarnyi Vermakht) metaphors; manifestation of the systemic organization of society’s nominations: synonymic series (rzhavyi Tolik, gospodin privatizais ryzhii vaucher Chubais; likhie – banditskie – pomoinye devyanostye), antonymic pairs (zastoi – nezhnyi Brezhnev), homonymous pairs (krasnaya Armiya ‘workers’-and-peasants’ army of the country of Soviets’ – krasnaya armiya ‘association of terrorist brigades of Italy’), thematic groups (time periods, leaders of states, professions, places of settlement, etc.); the appearance in this nominative field of historicisms (khrushchevskaya ottepel’, chlenovoz) and archaisms (okolotochnyi – uchastkovyi). The main functions of the informal nomination of society (epistemological, characterizing, adaptive, philosophical) are established. Panov – an outstanding philologist, teacher, popularizer of the science of language. Particular attention is paid to the scientific interests of M.V. Panov in the field of spelling, his work as deputy chairman of the Spelling Commission in the 1960s, which was preparing a large-scale spelling reform, and activities to popularize spelling, which was associated primarily with the need to explain to society the essence of the changes proposed then. Understanding of M.V. Panov, a speller and educator, is necessary for the further successful work of not only spelling codifiers, but also popularizers of linguistic science. Despite the fact that today it is not supposed to reform the Russian letter and created at the Institute of the Russian Language. V.V. Vinogradov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a complete academic description of the rules of modern Russian spelling does not imply any changes to the existing rules for writing words, the tasks of linguistic education are not at all outdated. Today, like 60 years ago, native speakers confuse the language itself and writing, pronunciation and spelling, and when commenting on any news related to the language, they demand that “language reforms” be prevented. The history of higher and secondary educational institutions, thanks to which the Russian language was introduced and successfully functions in Kazakhstan, is briefly traced. The first pro-gymnasium was opened in the city of Verny on September 7, 1876. Primary schools were opened in many villages, settlements, auls. After the revolution of 1917, the Autonomous Kirghiz Socialist Soviet Republic was formed, in which the education system began to develop. In 1925 it was renamed the Kazak ASSR. An undesirable homonymy arose in the Russian language: the Turkic people and the ethnographic group (sub-ethnos) of the Russian people were called the same. To avoid it, the Kazakh sound [қ] in the weak position of the end of the word was reflected in Russian as [х]. In 1936, the Russian name of the people and the republic took on the form of the Kazakhs, the Kazakh ASSR. In the Kazakh language, the words Qazakhtar, Qazakhstan continued to be used. In 1928, the Kazakh State University was established, which was transformed into the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute two years later. Then a number of universities appeared in the capital of Alma-Ata. In 1934, the opening of the Kazakh State University took place. In 2007, the President of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev proposed to implement the “Trinity of Languages” project, which provides for the functioning of three languages in the country: Kazakh, Russian and English. The Kazakh language is included in it as the state language, Russian as the language of interethnic communication, and English as the language of integration into the world economy and the world community. At present, the Russian language continues to be used in the communicative space of Kazakhstan, it retains its role as the language of international organizations: the CIS, the SCO, the OCST. The connection of do-mestic bookplates with the history of bibliophilism as a part of the book culture of Russia is traced, the method of creating bookplates is analyzed. The purpose of the study is to comprehensively review individual publications that were in the owner’s libraries of the Central Black Earth region at the end of the 18th – beginning of the 20th century as a historical and cultural source. Based on the analysis of a number of publications, it was possible to reveal the reflection of the personality of their owners, to more accurately study their literary tastes and the specifics of their attitude to literature. It is noted that the spread of education and the increase in the availability of the printed word at the beginning of the 18th century stimulated the processes of distribution of book products, and the increase in genre diversity and circulation of published works led to the growth of library collections. The dynamics of the use of ex-libris is analyzed, it is established that by the end of the 18th century the influence of the classical heraldic composition in the space of the domestic ex-libris began to decrease. The material of the research was toponyms containing numerals from 1 to 10 in the amount of 20709 units, obtained by the method of continuous sampling from the USa toponymic database. The numerals transition process into the category of toponymic lexicon is investigated. The structural models of toponyms with numerals, the most frequent forms of writing numerals, as well as the most productive numerals on the map of the USA are revealed. The main numerals functions in the toponyms composition are determined. The percentage ratio of the studied units depending on the type of the designated object is revealed, which shows the preferable occurrence of numerals in the natural objects names composition, mainly hydronyms. The states of the USA with the largest and the smallest numeralized toponyms were identified. The prevalence of numerative toponyms on the territory of the USA is analyzed and the results are presented on the map. The numerative toponyms share in the USA toponymic lexicon is determined. The research makes a significant contribution to the toponym creation process knowledge, the role that numerals play in this process, and the peculiarities of their semantics and functioning. The purpose of the research is to determine the role of regional publications in urban community development, their involvement in the communicative space of urban environment. The empirical research material for the work is Rostov region mass media, including representatives of regional, district, city and corporate publications, as well as urban content produced by them. For the research, 7 periodicals are selected and 1550 publications of an urban nature are analyzed. The leading method of this research is a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the urban content of Rostov region press. The research formulates the conclusions that all the considered types of regional publications occupy an important place in the existing processes of urban media communication. The study also revealed that among the publications of the Rostov region, the regional media demonstrate unconditional involvement in the process of urban community development. Solzhenitsyn’s work in the letters and journalism of V. Astafiev. The importance of the research is due to the attention of modern literary criticism to the historiosophical and socio-political issues of Russian prose, the necessity to research the creations of Russian literature of the 20th century in its brightest performances and assessments. The purpose of the research is an attempt to determine the similarity of aesthetic positions, which became the basis for assessing and interpreting the personality and work of A. Solzhenitsyn in the V. Astafiev’s epistolary and journalism. The publications of letters and journalism by V. Astafyev, the writer’s reaction to publication of the first story by A. Solzhenitsyn are analyzed. The main arguments of V. Astafyev’s letter in defense of A. Solzhenitsyn, the motives for applying to the Writers’ Union are considered. V. Astafyev’s reaction to the “Vermont hermit” return to Russia is considered, the scale of A. Solzhenitsyn’s personality is characterized, and his public position is assessed. As a result of the analysis, it is established that in the letters and journalism of V. Astafiev a vivid image of A. Solzhenitsyn is created as an unbending fighter, an authoritative thinker, one of the founders of village prose, a patriot of Russia. It is concluded that the creative behavior of the writer V. Astafiev is determined by the specifics of his personality, the characteristics of his marital status, and the socio-political life of Russia in the 1960s – 1990s. The tasks are reduced to the analysis of scientific and theoretical literature on the problems of neology, the selection of neo-lexemes of the subject area “fashion and style”, formed by morphological methods, by the method of continuous sampling, and their systematization in relation to the functions they perform in the glamorous discourse. The sources are electronic versions of the monthly women’s magazines “Cosmopolitan”, “Elle”, “Fashion” for 2017–2022. When interpreting the factual material, data from the Online Etymology Dictionary and Dictionary.com dictionaries and a comprehensive methodology are used: the general scientific method of observation, word-formation analysis, definitional analysis, descriptive-analytical method. The findings indicate an active linguo-creative word-formation activity in the fashion sector of the economy. We formulate the thesis about the functional syncretism of derivational neologisms in the communicative space of the mass media serving it. We single out and illustrate with examples the nominative, informative, emotionally expressive, evaluative and phatic (contact-establishing) interdependent functions of neonominations. We note a significant predominance of the first two. The relevance of the study is due to the dual position of such names: on the one hand, the characteristic “contradiction to public interests, principles of humanity and morality” serves as a good reason for refusing state registration of a mark, on the other hand, such names are found in many not only in the commercial environment, but also in the legal field. The purpose of the study is to characterize the degree of prevalence of such designations, as well as to assess the attitude of native speakers of the Russian language to such nominations (aesthetic and commercial attractiveness). The main research method is an experiment (survey). According to the results of experiment, it is proved that designations with a pronounced “indecent” meaning are the least aesthetically and commercially attractive for the majority of potential buyers of goods/services.
