These characteristics made it suitable for applications as electric vehicle. However, its difficult control is a disadvantage for this purpose. In this paper a fuzzy control strategy for switched reluctance machine applied for an integrated started-generator is presented. The inputs are the generated power error and its variation, and the output is the switching angle of the machine drive. The results are encouraging, although they are still provisional and we have to improve the control.","PeriodicalId":344175,"journal":{"name":"2018 Thirteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128156630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The influence of DC bias on the JA model is analyzed. The parameters in the JA model are extracted from BH loops without DC bias but they are applicable for the one under DC bias condition. Thus the modified JA model is practically convenient for iron loss prediction. Moreover, the parameter identification is fast. In addition, the influence of different magnetic induction levels and frequency is incorporated in the model. An accurate measurement system is established to measure the BH loops and iron loss. The tested results are demonstrated and compared with the predicted iron loss to verify the modified JA model.","PeriodicalId":344175,"journal":{"name":"2018 Thirteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134377395","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The XERIC system combines a traditional Vapor Compression Cycle (VCC) with a Liquid Desiccant Cycle (LDC), by taking advantage of an innovative component, called Three-Fluids Combined Membrane Contactor (3F-CMC). The two experimental setups arranged to test LDC alone and the overall XERIC system are presented. Then, the experimental results obtained in the first test campaign are given and discussed. Finally, the numerical tool developed in the Matlab/Simulink environment for the evaluation of the performance of the overall XERIC system is introduced and a preliminary comparison between numerical results and experimental measurements is provided.","PeriodicalId":344175,"journal":{"name":"2018 Thirteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129405933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Physical simulation models on component-level, mainly for efficiency prediction, for a submodule of a 17 level cascaded H-bridge inverter are introduced and validated by measurements. The simulations are done using physical models in Simscape and LTSPICE to consider the dynamic waveform of the switch-on and switch-off of the power MOSFETs. Finally, the efficiencies of the H-bridge inverter, calculated at different operation points using physical simulations, are close to the power analyzer results.","PeriodicalId":344175,"journal":{"name":"2018 Thirteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122430549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A parameter correlation and sensitivity analysis are performed in order to simplify the model by eliminating the variables that are less significant with regards to achieving a more tolerant design to misalignment with a higher coupling coefficient. The study is done using finite element methods, ANSYS Workbench. Analysis results and design recommendations to support decision making are obtained.","PeriodicalId":344175,"journal":{"name":"2018 Thirteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127613240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, system efficiency of the power split configuration with 4-speed was investigated using network analysis. From the network analysis results, it was found that the efficiency of the target hybrid system was improved by the added 4-speed gear steps, which provides four mechanical points. To maintain the system operation at the mechanical points, a new power split-parallel architecture was proposed by adding a brake at the MG1 shaft, which provides a parallel mode instead of the power split mode. To evaluate the fuel economy potential of the proposed power split-parallel configuration, backward simulations were performed using dynamic programming by considering the drivetrain losses. From the backward simulations, it was found that the fuel economy of power split-parallel configuration with 4-speed is improved.","PeriodicalId":344175,"journal":{"name":"2018 Thirteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130308104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The preliminary results show that there are several appropriate machine types and it is necessary to decide, which kind of equipment has to be defined in advance for application respectively. In the paper, the Markov reward approach was developed for computing of average availability and the entire reliability associated cost, considering vehicle operational conditions and aging process of electric motors. Based on the obtained results of simulation, the decision about optimal type of traction electric motor for an icebreaking ships has been suggested.","PeriodicalId":344175,"journal":{"name":"2018 Thirteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125894881","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents an experimental verification of the thermal stability of a MOSFET full bridge power inverter used in cascaded H-bridge inverter with split battery modules. The verification of the norm EN 61000-2-4 compatibility of the grid connected multilevel inverter is made by testing the submodules' current overload responses. Furthermore, the thermal capacity of the H-bridge using passive heat sink is analysed and the time constant is investigated. Efficiency measurements of the proposed topology are also made and the impacts of different currents and PWM switching frequencies are presented.","PeriodicalId":344175,"journal":{"name":"2018 Thirteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128853592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
