However, in the last decades, due to growing concern related to the impact of toxic gases, solid particles and greenhouse gases associated with fossil fuels burning on the environment, significant measures were considered in order to reduce these negative consequences. Along these measures, the development of the renewable energies was considered a key factor, and consequently was encouraged through several political decisions. Romania, as a European Union's member had to implement the established directives and, consequently, the renewable energy sector known a rapid evolution in the past eight years. In this paper an analysis is conducted in order to evaluate the impact of the renewable energy sector development on the CO2 emissions levels in Romania.","PeriodicalId":343896,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121342237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the same time, the main goal of the information based educational environment should be to ensure the transition of education to a new level of quality, i.e., to a state corresponding to the development of the information society and the associated need of specialists of appropriate skill levels. Currently, there is an active search for new forms and methods of teaching, which makes it possible to talk about the transition of education from a directive model to an interactive, learner’s personality-oriented, more productive, one. The article deals with the possibility of using innovative teaching methods in preparing technical university students. Also, advantages and disadvantages of traditional and innovative teaching methods are described, through the development, application and implementation of innovative technologies.","PeriodicalId":343896,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114784629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accurate fault location can minimize the time of finding the location of a fault along the line by the inspection crew and thus to minimize the outage time of the faulted line with benefits in power system stability. In the paper there is presented a fault location algorithm widely used in real power systems and the major error sources that affects its precision. The fault location simulations obtained from a simulation model of a real network transposed in Matlab show that some error sources can be reduced in order to obtain better fault location estimations.","PeriodicalId":343896,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"102 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124302463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Photovoltaic cells are connected in series to reach the desired voltage (around 700-1000V DC), then parallel in order to obtain a higher current (8-16 A). The photovoltaic cells must be used at their maximum power point. The I – U curve of a photovoltaic panel is non-linear, and environmental factors such as temperature or solar irradiation bring considerable variations to the characteristic and location of the maximum power point. This paper presents a method based on the mathematical model of a diode for tracking the maximum power point of a photovoltaic panel or a photovoltaic field under different meteorological conditions using only the data provided by the manufacturers. The model has been validated with experimental data of a commercial photovoltaic module, CHSM6610P Astroenergy.","PeriodicalId":343896,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115869268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Correctly designed asymmetric half-bridge PWM converters employing ZVS represent an attractive candidate. For low output voltage applications, synchronous rectification should allow efficient operation. However, since simple replacement shows promising results through simulation, a test setup reveals a great discrepancy. Massive oscillations during the turn-off transition of the synchronous rectifier causes enormous losses. Therefore, a second synchronous rectifier design is investigated, which uses an alternative design method. This design confirms the improved efficiency achieved by simulation.","PeriodicalId":343896,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"8 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130131967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
