The work presents the results of the analysis of the features of using verbal-nominal collocations with the components uchinyat' / uchinit', chinit', delat' / sdelat', sovershat' / sovershit', tvorit', okazyvat' / okazat' in the texts of Old Russian charters collected in the Russian National Corpus. It has been established that the most frequent verbs in the texts of charters are the verbs uchinyat' / uchinit', chinit', delat' / sdelat' , which form stable collocations. It has been found that combinations with these verbs were used in the situation of describing the proceedings of a case and making a decision; in the case of causing any harm, committing various violent acts; to fix various speech actions; in the case of establishing the border of a certain territory / delineation of neighboring lands; in the situation of assistance and the conclusion of a truce, as well as in a situation of job description, labor. It has been determined that most of the analyzed stable combinations are not used in modern Russian.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The general structural principle of all the texts under consideration is \"theater within theater\", and the general philosophical problem is the relationship between art and life. The authors' attention is focused on rehearsal as a transitional process in which art and life come into contact, reflect on each other, and exchange signs. In parallel, the article blurs the boundaries between different Bulgakov texts, the components of which are connected by similar relations. Interpreting the \"Notes of the Deceased\" through other Bulgakov plots, the authors conclude that, in the artistic world of M. Bulgakov, the metaphor \"life - theater\" is filled with ambivalent content and turns into a metaphor \"theater - death\". The point of convergence of these modes is the theatrical novel.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The authors identify strategies for studying the life of Leo Tolstoy by biographers of different historical periods, which allows us to analyze and evaluate the dynamics of perception of the writer's figure in the XIX-XXI centuries. The reception of the figure of Leo Tolstoy in different historical periods is heterogeneous: the interpretation of the writer's image is influenced not only by the personal preferences of biographers, their goals and objectives, but also by the value orientations set by time. The historical epoch also influences the author's strategies for creating the image of Leo Tolstoy. Biographies of Leo Tolstoy written by different authors are devided into three groups: biographies created by contemporaries of Leo Tolstoy; biographies written by authors of the Soviet period; biographies of the post-Soviet period. Such division is due to a change in the historical context that affects the reception and interpretation of the image of the hero of the biography.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The dynamics of their use and the features of semantics are considered. The article establishes that models with components of spatial semantics: aus-, durch-, ein-, los-, herum- (rum-) participate in the formation of verb lexemes of the coronavirus pandemic period. The article shows that colloquial verb lexemes formed according to this model often have augmentative semantics. The most frequent verb lexemes with augmentative semantics are identified, their meaning is established. Augmentative semantics in derived verb units is formed on the basis of the main meaning of the prenegative component, due to its metaphorization, in the presence of potential peyorative semes in the meaning of motivating verbs. The article also defines the concept of augmentativity, establishes the boundaries of this category. The category of augmentativity is interpreted as an integral part of the category of emotivity, its distinguishing feature is the deviation in the expression of the attribute upward from the conditional norm.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The article considers the communicative and pragmatic parameters of the individual discourse of Dmitriy Kiselyov. The material for the scientific study is the author’s reports presented in the weekly information and analytical program «Vesti Nedeli with Dmitriy Kiselyov» on «Russia-1» TV channel. The article represents a comprehensive communicative and pragmatic analysis of the program issues for 2016 from the perspective of individual features of the journalist’s speech. Dmitriy Kiselyov's speech behavior is analyzed from the point of view of communicative strategies and tactics. The discourse analysis carried out proves that the main strategies of a speech are the strategy of heroization and the strategy of discrediting, which are implemented through a variety of tactics. These linguistic and pragmatic characteristics, together with linguistic features, make up the specifics of D. The aim is to conduct a structural-semantic analysis of the adverbial remarks, to classify them on the basis of the functions they perform and to establish the role of this type of remarks in the development of the plot, creation of images and representation of the dominant meanings of the dramatic work. The material for the study is the adverbial remarks, selected by the method of continuous sampling from the plays of Tom Stoppard. The article defines such basic notions as \"dramaturgical discourse\" and \"paratext\" of a drama, and also gives the classifications of adverbial remarks, taking into account their functional range and the distinguished feature. Contentually and expressively rich, the adverbial remark enhances the dialogue, polylogue or monologue and develops the plot, often acting as semantic attractors of the play. Realizing such stylistic functions as descriptive, explanatory, and characteristic, the remark connects with the lines and creates a single \"fabric\" of the drama, thus transforming the text of the play into a multidimensional, complex, and ambiguous dramaturgical work.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. Such characteristics as the color of hair, eyes and a face, the size and the shape of a face and its parts, the body features and other ones have been identified and described. In the group of coloratives we have found a transfer of color adjectives from the sphere of zoonyms characterized as facts of discursive metonymy ( ryzhyi [red], karii [brown], sivyi [gray], etc.), as well as the use of multi-structural adjectival nominations to designate different color shades ( rus [light-brown], belorus [tow-haired], vcherni rus [dark-haired]). This paper studies semantic oppositions in describing the shape of a face ( krugloye [round], prodolgovatoye [long], ploskolitseye [flat-faced]), the shape of a nose ( dolgovat [rather lengthy], korotkonos [short-nosed], ploskonos [flat-nosed]), etc. Lack of some human attributes ( bezborodyi [beardless], goloborodyi [bare-bearded], golousyi [bare-mustached], beznosyi [noseless], bespalyi [fingerless]) also turned out to be expressed in various linguistic units. This comparative analysis of the facts characterizing a person's appearance both in business written records of XVI-XVII centuries and in nicknames’ nominations of the same time period, on the one hand, has demonstrated the use of the same source which is the adjective vocabulary of the Russian language as well as the presence of a common goal expressed in the identification of a person by his appearance. On the other hand, we have found out a noticeable difference in the choice of characteristic features and the linguistic patterns being created: if in the written records the distinctive-feature characteristics of a person are presented by components of predicative combinations ( usom bel [the moustache is white]), then there is an attributive phrase at the beginning of a chain that goes to a surname by passing a nickname phase ( belyi us [white moustache] > belous [white-mustached] > Belous [White-Mustached {a nickname}] > syn Belousov [son of the White-Mustached] > Belousov [Belousov {a surname}]). The discrepancy is in the function of a message (predication) and the function of naming (nomination) which is generally conditional upon different discursive spheres: a business-related sphere and an everyday one.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University.
