Pre-service teachers face many anxiogenic situations as they do not have experience and are under continuous observation. One proven way to reduce anxiety is being mindful. Mindfulness is defined as the ability to draw one’s attention to the experiences occurring in the present moment without judging them and in an accepting way (Kabat-Zinn, 1990) and research has shown the possibility of training mindfulness skills, meaning that they can be taught and learned through specific methods. Our hypothesis was that pre-service teachers with high levels of mindfulness skills are less anxious during their teaching activities and they feel greater well-being than those not practicing mindfulness. Students preparing to become teachers were given a mindfulness and an anxiety inventory. The findings are discussed in the present","PeriodicalId":34366,"journal":{"name":"21 Inquiries into Art History and the Visual","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85444934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this research, about two million official records were used from the open data portal of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, which were divided 70% for training and 30% for tests; based on these data, Linear Regression algorithms were used (LR), Random Forest (RF), XGBoost (XGB), and Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) to make predictions. The results of the regression performance were evaluated through the coefficient of determination, and the best measure performance showed 0,9 with a Random Forest regressor (RF)","PeriodicalId":34366,"journal":{"name":"21 Inquiries into Art History and the Visual","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91371649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the universities are using video calling applications to create an environment similar to in-person classes. However, there is a clear difference from actual in-person classes. Both teachers and students feel the difficulty of providing/taking the course. This can lead to a loss of motivation in the classes. This is specifically due to the fact that distance learning is not able to equip a ‘sense of reality’ for both teachers and students. Unlike in-person classes, distance learning is not realistic, and the faces of the participants are only displayed on a flat screen on the online screen. Therefore, we considered that the existing video call applications used as environments for distance learning cannot provide classes with realistic experiences. For students, unlike in-person classes, the teacher is not actually standing and teaching on the podium in front of them, in the remote class. The class is free from the style of in-person classes, and students can take classes at home or in any other environment of each their own choice. Since there are no physical existence of teachers or other students around, it is possible for students to take the class while doing something irrelevant to the class. In this study, we propose a video utilization system that can improve this problem and provide a sense of reality similar to that of in-person classes in a distance education environment. The proposed system can work as a realistic tool for both students and teachers in remote classes.","PeriodicalId":34366,"journal":{"name":"21 Inquiries into Art History and the Visual","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76602387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study attempts to describe how native and non-native EFL teachers position culture in teaching, also details which pedagogic strategy teachers use to impact culture while teaching. The study aimed to raise teachers' awareness of the relevance of cross-cultural teaching in practice for a better result of EFL cultural competence. The data was gathered from EFL teachers of different nationalities via a semi-structured interview with both native and non-native EFL teachers at a private school in Adana Turkey. Data was also collected through questionnaires. This study indicates that many EFL teachers are aware of culture's importance while some are aware of it to some extent. Findings from this study support previous research by providing contributions to the fields of pedagogic strategies and teaching culture in foreign language classes. Literature on theories that have been applied to food choice studies is reviewed, followed by an integration of selected theories into a proposed hypothetical framework for investigating antecedents of consumer purchase intentions towards traditional foods. The resulting hypothetical framework identifies ten variables, acting as antecedents that influence purchase intentions towards traditional foods, which have been grouped into personal factors, external factors and food properties. The proposed hypothetical framework is useful for designing future empirical studies that seek to identify and assess antecedents of consumer purchase intentions towards traditional foods. The hypothetical framework is therefore a first step towards developing a validated model for explaining and predicting purchase intentions towards traditional foods, for the benefit of marketing scholarship and industry practice alike.","PeriodicalId":34366,"journal":{"name":"21 Inquiries into Art History and the Visual","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88348781","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Video is a sequence of digital images, where the digital images can be represented as matrices. One of the matrix factorization that is possible to be implemented on any matrix is Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). On low rank SVD, we choose a smaller value of rank of the new approximation image to reduce its necessary storage capacity. When we save the images in the storage by saving the new representation from SVD results other than the original representation, theoretically with smaller rank of the matrix representation will results in smaller size of file. The experiment result on this research gives a compression ratio 2.6182 on a sample frame of the video data by choosing text file format to save the necessary data.","PeriodicalId":34366,"journal":{"name":"21 Inquiries into Art History and the Visual","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87360308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
