It aims to minimize total cost and to maximize demand coverage for a hierarchical facility network while considering covering distance. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer nonlinear (MINL) model. The objective presents total cost minimization including setup cost for facilities in all hierarchical levels, transportation cost along the network providing n service types, and penalty cost for uncovered demand. The model is verified and validated by a real life case study for redesigning a coherent distribution network for electrical household equipment. The problem was solved via Lingo 14. Results obtained by the proposed model were compared with the actual state. The comparison proves that the proposed model provides better results in terms of cost and coverage.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123985326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A mixed-integer linear programming approach is proposed based on discrete-time presentation. By setting the minimal total cost in loading and unloading operations as well as all vehicles' transportation as objective function, and considering the practical issues such as fluctuation in filling station's sales and road congestion, the model is established under the constraints of loading, unloading, rest and standby, vehicle's state, time, filling station, depot and cost. Finally, the method is applied to a real case which has eight filling stations, one depot, one garage and eight vehicles and there are three types of products to be transported in the system. The final results proved better applicability and accuracy of this method.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125064397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the meantime, cooperating mechanism such as revenue-sharing contract is usually applied to facilitate retailers to buy more higher quality products by lowering selling price to the retailers to maximize overall supply chain profit. This study constructs an optimal model with the goal to maximize supply chain profit under product upward substitution and revenue sharing mechanisms to determine the optimal mix of ordering quantities of two products, compensating amount, and revenue sharing ratio. One real-life case are used to validate the models developed. The results show that compensating mechanism is able to motivate customers to accept the lower-quality product and to make retailers' profit higher. And, revenue sharing contract can push retailers to buy more high quality products to make the manufacturer's profit and supply chain profit higher.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"177 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125271277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sustainable freight transport today are on the political, social and technological agenda of many actors operating in urban contexts. The purpose of this paper is to present a systematic literature review (SLR) that aims to consolidate the knowledge on urban logistics by reviewing the developments of the last 17 years in the field of Freight Transport research and innovation. The majority of articles focused on issues like commodity flows and economic modelling aspects, but there has been relatively little research reported on issues like collaboration among stakeholders, usage of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and E-commerce. Finally, based on the findings from the literature review, future research directions are proposed in an attempt to stimulate further studies on emerging trends and innovative strategies in the broad area of urban logistics.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126929107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve flexibility and interoperability, banking IT services created in the context of the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) with an underlying architectural pattern originate from a service-oriented architecture (SOA). The strategy includes conceptual service and process specification in terms of BPMN or UML use cases as the languages of choice for business process modeling. In this context, this paper proposes basing a conceptual-level modeling language on a foundation called the Flowthing Machines (FM) model. The paper compares UML as a language for depicting the behavior of complex financial systems side by side with a corresponding FM representation to give the reader a general appreciation of the adaptability of FM as a supplement or alternative representation of processes in this type of domain.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129480782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These changes lead to makes the improvement in the existing layout of available facilities on shop floor to cope up with the growing market competition. By keeping this concept in mind, the present study deals with the development of a model to solve facility layout problem evolving job shop production system. This problem is itself a Non-Polynomial hard and considering the various cost factors makes it more difficult to attain the optimum solution. Therefore, a nature inspired algorithm i.e. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is applied to deal with this problem while considering handling and moving cost of facilities as well as setup cost in a job shop type of production system. Moreover, the Variable Neighborhood Search (VNS) method has been integrated with GA to enhance the local search of optimal solution. The results revealed that the proposed approach is well suited to solve the problem effectively. Also, an attempt has been made to help the administration to decide the changes in the exiting layout by implementing the well-known \"cost-benefit-analysis\".","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133935634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a consequence of the current situation and existing problems, restaurant business entrepreneurs require appropriate and specific knowledge management (KM). There are many existing research studies on KM, but these are not appropriate in the context of small restaurant business entrepreneurs. Therefore, the objectives of this paper are 1) to describe the current situation of the KM process in general; and 2) to study the current KM tools and technologies available to small restaurant entrepreneurs in Thailand. This study uses the qualitative approach by conducting in-depth interviews with nine small business entrepreneurs well-diversified by demographics in terms of age, and number of years' experience in the restaurant business. The researchers have chosen content analysis to analyse the interview transcripts. The results from the exploratory study indicate some interesting findings as evidenced by four main KM processes. The results also show that entrepreneurs of small restaurants lack the appropriate KM tools and technologies for each KM activity. Moreover, the appropriate use of offline and online KM tools can be essential for facilitating KM.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125223610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
