The AC and DC stages are connected through interlinking converters which manage the power transference among both sub-microgrids. This paper describes the design and implementation of an AC-DC back-to-back interlinking converter developed for laboratory applications. First, the design of the power stage of the converter is described. Additionally, a conventional synchronous frame control strategy is presented and implemented in a real-time controller. Finally, experimental results are presented to validate the correct operation of the proposed converter to perform AC-DC conversion.","PeriodicalId":340976,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE CHILEAN Conference on Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies (CHILECON)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129214783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The multilevel converters allow us to work at the voltage levels mentioned and give us a low harmonic content in the AC side of the system. However, these power conversion systems consist in their topology of an input transformer, which is sensitive to low order harmonic currents, generating saturation and increased losses. This work proposes a modulation scheme called Feedback Quantizer, applied to multi-cell active front-end rectifiers, aiming to obtain a focused mitigation of low-frequency current harmonics of the power cell. Furthermore, to ensure the stability of the DC voltage of each power cell, a control strategy consisting of nonlinear control, a first-order filter to the DC voltage reference, and a PI control will ensure stability and zero steady-state error at step input. The simulated results show the correct operation of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":340976,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE CHILEAN Conference on Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies (CHILECON)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125494561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initially, a data set of 30,000 constellation images of the QPSK, 16-QAM, and 64-QAM modulations with different identified MER values in dB was generated. These data sets are used to train and validate a convolutional neural network based on the transfer learning in AlexNet network architecture, destined to recognize different types of images. The validation results and a test set obtained from the same database were highly satisfactory. Most of them approach 100% accuracy in the classification, which showed a good detection of modulation and especially discrimination of the MER value when evaluating constellations. ISDB-T signals transmitted by broadcast in the city of Quito-Ecuador and by the laboratory were also evaluated. A professional ISDB-T analyzer and a receiver designed with software-defined radio (SDR) ADALM-PLUTO were used for reception. The results in the receiving equipment show an accuracy of 100% of the detected modulation and very close values between the measured MER values and those obtained by the neural network.","PeriodicalId":340976,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE CHILEAN Conference on Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies (CHILECON)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126404032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Position servo actuated mechanisms are recurrent in low cost robotics. To deal with this defiant control formulation the paper resorts to adaptive control techniques. The analysis of the resulting nonlinear error model is performed via Lyapunov’s direct method to show stability and control goal achievement.","PeriodicalId":340976,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE CHILEAN Conference on Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies (CHILECON)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116079139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach is developed in the coupled tanks system, a nonlinear system that is widely used for educational purposes. Two distinct settings of coupled tanks are presented: the fist one with two tanks, and the second one with four tanks. During the simulations, it is demonstrated that the proposed model manages to pursue multiple equilibrium points, providing theoretical guarantees of stability and performance in their neighborhood.","PeriodicalId":340976,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE CHILEAN Conference on Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies (CHILECON)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125058542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The exponential growth of traffic that circulates through the network, together with the changing demand for bandwidth, types of traffic, and the need for rapid deployment of new services, have put into focus the traditional mechanisms in which device configurations are performed manually and statically. Consequently, there is a need to change the design and administration mechanisms to give the network greater dynamism and intelligence. Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Automation emerge as revolutionary new network technologies, which promise to provide concrete solutions to these demands. This work tries to relate the needs of traditional networks with what SDN provides, for the analysis of performance and new management capabilities. A simulated laboratory is presented, that allowed different scenarios. For this, different tools for simulation and virtualization were used, such as GNS3, Mininet and ONOS (Open Network Operating System). Within GNS3, topologies were created with Mininet version 2.2.2, connected to the SDN ONOS controller for the required cases. Among some tests, it was possible to determine the shortest convergence time before the fall of links or switchs, for SDN networks compared to traditional networks. The numerical results can be useful for simulation analysts, and network planners and administrators.","PeriodicalId":340976,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE CHILEAN Conference on Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies (CHILECON)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125208383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By using affective intelligent agents within an artificial environment, seven different scenarios were defined. To offer a broader view, three profiles of passenger agents were considered in each of the seven previously mentioned scenarios: Student profile, which assesses the cost of the route over other decision criteria; Worker profile, which values the time of the route over other factors; and Tourist profile, which values the well-being derived from the route over other factors. Well-being is understood as the satisfaction perceived by the passenger derived from the transport service. Likewise, the transit through streets with positive or negative memories has a direct effect on the well-being of the passenger agent. Depending on the scenario and the configuration of parameters, the results show that in some cases obtaining higher well-being does not imply a substantially higher cost. Likewise, in some cases, following an option that seeks higher well-being does not substantially represent a longer travel time.","PeriodicalId":340976,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE CHILEAN Conference on Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies (CHILECON)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131515739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
