This study aims to identify and describe the types of medicinal plants and their use by the community in Malintang Village, Bukit Malintang District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra. Based on the research results obtained from interviews with  the  community  totaling  17  people  from  370  heads  of families, it can be concluded that there are 30 types of plants from 20 families that are  useful   as   medicine  in   Malintang  Village,   Bukuit   Malintang   District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi limbah dalam air kelapa dan air cucian beras serta lama perendaman terhadap perkecambahan biji kacang hijau. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi globul, jumlah radikula, dan panjang radikula. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, air kelapa dan air cucian beras berpengaruh terhadap tinggi bulu dimana bulu tertinggi terdapat pada kombinasi (20 ml air kelapa + 80 ml air cucian beras dan perendaman 2 jam). Panjang radikula terpanjang ditemukan pada kombinasi (10 ml air kelapa + 90 ml air cucian beras dan perendaman 6 jam). Kardhinata, Rahmiati Rahmiati","doi":"10.31289/jibioma.v3i2.750","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31289/jibioma.v3i2.750","url":null,"abstract":"Pepaya  (Carica  papaya) merupakan tanaman yang dimanfaatkan sebagai obat alternatif, mulai dari bagian akar, batang, daun, dan buah.  Karena diketahui mengetahui mengandung senyawa tanin yang memiliki aktifitas antibakteri terhadap beberapa jenis bakteri phatogen seperti Shigella, Salmonella thypii, dan Eschericia coli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak biji pepaya dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Shigella dysentriae. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan menggunakan metode Rancangan acak lengkap satu faktor dan metode difusi. Konsentrasi ekstrak biji buah pepaya yang digunakan yaitu 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dengan 5 kali pengulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak biji buah pepaya dengan masing-masing konsentrasi tersebut mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Shigella dysentriae. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan metode difusi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Zona hambat maksimum sabun yang paling efektif (32,17 mm) ditunjukkan oleh sabun cair \"A\", yang ditemukan paling mungkin menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus. Aktivitas antibakteri kuat lainnya juga ditunjukkan oleh sabun cair \"B\" dengan zona supresi 20,83 mm. Daun salam merupakan salah satu bahan alami karena dapat digunakan sebagai pengawet karena mengandung minyak atsiri, air, tanin, dan flavonoid yang dapat mencegah bakteri patogen penyebab pembusukan makanan. Ibu rumah tangga sering menggunakan daun salam untuk mengawetkan unggas, yang kerapatan ekstrak dan waktu perendamannya tidak diketahui. Parameter yang diamati adalah kombinasi warna, tekstur dan rasa ayam. This study aims to determine dermatophyte fungal infections in patients with nail mycoses. The method used in this study is descriptive and the sample was taken by purposive sampling with the criteria of damaged toenails, with characteristics: nails are not shiny, brownish to black from the base to the tip then the nails are examined directly with 10% KOH and cultured using media Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA). The fungi isolated on slanted agar containing SDA and each fungal species were then identified using preparations for microscopic examination. Personal hygiene such as playing in the school ditch, on the ground, playing dirty and some children do not use footwear, long nails and the habit of not washing their hands with soap before and after playing, thereby increasing the risk of intestinal worms in children. This study aims to determine the percentage and types of intestinal nematode worm eggs that infect elementary school children grades 1 and 2 Raudathul Jannah Foundation, Penraujan Private Elementary School, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. The method used in this study was direct stool examination. Based on the results of the examination of 48 samples of elementary school students in grades 1 and 2, it was found that 3 samples were positively infected with intestinal nematode worm eggs with a percentage of 6.25% and there were 2 types of worm eggs that infect, namely Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura. Water hyacinth has 2 plants, 4 plants, 6 plants and 1 control bucket. From the results of this study, the contact time of 24 hours can reduce ammonia levels by 46% - 82% and phosphate content by 33% - 56%. The ammonia content can be reduced by 71% - 87%, the phosphate content by 58% - 90% with a contact time of 48 hours, and the ammonia content can be reduced by 89% - 91% with a contact time of 72 hours. . Phosphate content 82%-97%. The maximum absorption time is 24 hours of contact time. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan. This study was conducted descriptively by comparing the results of the increase in post-transfusion hemoglobin levels using fresh blood and save blood in patients with aplastic anemia. The results showed that the average value of hemoglobin in patients with aplastic anemia before being transfused with fresh donor blood was 6.4 gr/dL, increasing to  8.9  gr/dL, while the  average value of  hemoglobin levels in  patients with aplastic anameia before transfusion of save blood is 6.8 gr/dL increased after transfusion to 7.9 gr/dL.
