Wind power is nowadays regarded as one of the predominant alternative sources of clean energy. In this paper, we discuss our work on utilizing climate big-data associated with wind power, collected from several wind farms over four years, for exploring the correlation between regional wind speed and wind power. Once this huge amount of data are analyzed, it can be used to develop policies for siting wind-power facilities, designing smart charging algorithms, or evaluating the capacity of electrical distribution systems to meet the actual requirement of power load. Our work started with collecting related climate data for building data model to perform analytics work and experiments using Support Vector Regression (SVR) method. Also, we observed the correlations between other factors related to wind speed and wind energy from our empirical model. The preliminary experimental results demonstrate that our developed system framework is workable, allowing for detailed analysis of the important wind-power related factors on specific wind farm regions.","PeriodicalId":340479,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126687698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The findings and the experimental results also demonstrated the existence of liquid crystalline (LC) behavior and shearing thinning fluid of aqueous XG blends. The compositionally blending ratios with some agents (herein, phosphoric acid, hydroxypropyl cellulose and acacia gum) could promote or inhibit the LC region and the viscosity owing to the large amount of inter-and intra-molecular associations among XG helices. A proposed phase diagram of tertiary polysaccharide blends denoted the mutual effect of molecules in mixtures, especially the phase transition from liquid crystallization to isotropy. Furthermore, the microscopic, optical and rheological investigations to determine anisotropic phase, viscosity and transmitted light intensity demonstrated the highly ordered structures and flexibly conformational transformation of XG helices under variously thermal, solvent and vibrational conditions. This paper also discussed about the synergistically effects of concentration, temperature and frequency on morphological characteristics and rheological properties.","PeriodicalId":340479,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124519886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among 15 Tay Nguyen by-product extracts investigated for their antioxidant activities, avocado seed (TN-14) and avocado peel (TN-13) exhibited strong activity with the following IC50 values: 5.84 μg/mL, 98.12 μg/mL, 14.96 μg/mL, and 113.63 μg/ml, respectively. These extracts were used as natural antioxidant food preservatives for shrimp cold storage at 2 0C and tested by sensory evaluation of melanosis development in shrimps and lipid peroxidation inhibition assay (TBARs). Treated shrimp samples by TN-13 and TN-14 have gray values and TBARs values lower than the control sample (treating by water). These results suggested that TN-13 and TN-14 are able to slow down oxidation process of fat and melanosis development in shrimp during the cold processing.","PeriodicalId":340479,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123541384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A two-stage load estimator algorithm that combines customer load pattern from smart meters and state estimation (SE) theory is developed to provide the secondary output power of distribution transformers in the low voltage network at a sound accuracy with customer load measurements. The estimated results that could reflect true transformer loading then are used for transformer load management. A 5-bus test system has been analyzed to show the good convergence characteristics of the developed estimator algorithm and to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed methodology. The method proposed in this paper can effectively assist electric utilities for the evaluation of loading factors of distribution transformers to prevent the burn out of transformers caused by overloading problem. The operation efficiency of distribution systems can also be enhanced by loading balance of distribution transformers.","PeriodicalId":340479,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128471087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optimal conditions for these adsorptions process were found to be at pH 6 with contact time of 400 min for Gch and 350 min for CGch. The Cd(II) adsorption process on Gch and CGch well fitted to the pseudosecond-order model. The data obtained from the equilibrium experiment were analyzed using Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) models. The results showed that the adsorption process was more effectively described by Langmuir model for Gch and Freundlich model for CGch. Calculated thermodynamic parameters, ΔG, ΔH, and ΔS of the processes showed that Cd(II) adsorption on Gch and CGch was spontaneous and endothermic process.","PeriodicalId":340479,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126733736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
