In this article, a source tree based multicast routing protocol CAMT is proposed. CAMT employs only a fraction of nodes (core nodes) to disseminate their own and their neighbors' multicast interests to the network, while assuring the representation of all multicast receivers in these messages. As a result, only a small number of multicast group interest messages are generated. Moreover, CAMT benefits from the multipoint relay (MPR) optimizations to minimize retransmissions of these messages. Based on the information learnt through these messages, any multicast sender can generate a shortest path tree (rooted at itself), spanning across all core nodes interested in a particular multicast group. Simulation results indicate that the proposed protocol performs well under different network conditions.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"225 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114993825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our aim is to model the activity and importance of individual users over time, as well as the connection between a recent activity of the entire network and on a given subject (for example, trending topics like an event or a celebrity). A user's influence is measured based on his/hers followers and retweets, enabling the possibility to classify members of a certain community. Therefore, we shift the perspective towards analyzing the Twitter network as a news-spreading platform by studying the behavior of users, the underlying timelines and relationships.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115061856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our solution offers a scalable implementation that automates network decisions when different potential security attacks are detected over a large network infrastructure. To this end, our application monitors real-time network traffic and installs Access Control Lists on the controlled routers. Moreover, it allows distributed policies configuration. The application was built using the Cisco One Platform Kit framework that is currently being standardized.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124907556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the explosive development of the IoT - Internet of Things concept or newer IoE - Internet of Everything, independent power supply issue becomes more and more challenging. The article describes the operation of a sensor node powered by harvesting energy from unconventional energy sources using a modern graphical diagrams platform. We chose to study an indoor harvesting system based on natural and fluorescent light source because this type of energy is the most commonly used, provides the highest density and is predictable. Since the sensor node ensures its energy independence based on light energy only, it will be referred further as the Eco-node.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134118725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
