The application also provides the ability to view graphically the evolution trends of these words for a better interpretation of the results. The presented solution consists of two phases: the learning phase in which we identify the general evolution trends of three categories of words (archaisms, neologisms and common words) and the classification phase in which we label new words with their corresponding category. For both phases, the application requires Internet access because it is using the Google Books N-gram Viewer to generate the images that back up the decisions.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129806447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wireless sensor network islands often need a connection with a gateway in order to communicate with the outside world, but this cannot be provided in all circumstances. A different approach to connecting wireless sensor networks is to use mobile gateways that can reach the remote locations where sensor devices are running. Our design includes a gateway mounted on an unmanned aircraft that collects data on its flight path.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131957616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Operations such as drilling, transporting, storing, refining, and exporting oil and natural gas require a great deal of industrial automation and industrial network (Ethernet solutions) can play an important role. To make a network fault-tolerant requires that the user/company to think how a network device may fail and take steps that help prevent that type of failure. A solution in this case is to use a multi-agent system to assure an optimal function of the network. In this paper, the authors propose an agent-based system named NM-MAS for network management, with application in oil field. The main objective of NM-MAS is to maintain/increase the network performance. This project is presented only in the conceptual form, the implementation and testing phases consisting the future authors' work. The authors propose an evaluation scenario and evaluation indicators for NM-MAS.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114294388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of analysis aims at finding the main topics in a chat conversation, the evaluation of utterances and their implicit links. Moreover, are investigated the ways in which the analysis can be automated using natural language processing tools. In addition to the previous research on using the polyphonic approach, the paper introduces the idea that pauses are important and should also be considered in the analysis. In collaborative hybrid (both face-to-face and online at a distance) learning educational environments one of the most used type of tools are the chat conversations. We can therefore consider Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) as an important branch of hybrid learning.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122559797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, people are increasingly aware of the need to monitor their environment. We propose a platform that leverages a Wearable Sensor Device and Mobile Devices to collect large amounts of air quality data on a central Real-Time Data Processing System that can process all this information, aggregate it and disseminate it back to the users in relevant way. We design and develop Wearable Sensor Devices that are capable of measuring CO2, NO and particulate matter. We design and develop a Mobile Application that pulls data from the sensor device in an energy friendly way, described by our Adaptive Query Algorithm, and pushes it in the central processing system. Software Defined Networking comes in aid and offers an alternative to the old way networking administration is done, offering the administrators the possibility to control the network through a custom written software. In this paper, we propose a solution for automatic discovery of the network topology and packet generations from a central point with some troubleshooting capabilities. We use the onePK Software Defined Networking solution to implement an application that offers at any time a consistent view of the network topology and permits packet generation. The general purpose of the application is network troubleshooting.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124105487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Integrating software tools and workflows together with target devices by the means of web services is a methodology that can raise the availability of hardware design experiences in the academic or industrial domains, reducing the space and cost requirements of developing and maintaining on-premise dedicated software and hardware resources. This work describes the design and implementation of a Web service-based digital system design and deployment platform with potential e-Learning and industrial applications. The platform integrates a JSP Webpage as a graphic user interface linked to a Java servlet, and a Web service performing the main processes involved in the design, simulation, implementation, deployment, testing and operation of a digital system.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133917903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper takes such tools to the next level by proposing network-wide defense strategies and by presenting an implementation of a system that creates a collective defense. Such a system is useful in enterprise environments where frequent ssh scans waste bandwidth and some aggressive imap scans can induce denial of service to mail servers. The defense system is based on a set of computers that maintain a common database about the individual attacks. By interpreting the events stored in the database, every computer on the network can preemptively block attackers. The main objectives of the design of this system are to avoid creating a single point of failure by using a distributed database, and to handle the entire configuration of the participants from one single file. A variety of attack scenarios are studied to improve the efficiency of the defense.","PeriodicalId":340048,"journal":{"name":"2014 RoEduNet Conference 13th Edition: Networking in Education and Research Joint Event RENAM 8th Conference","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132325461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
