However, there are few epidemiological records. This is why it is necessary to generate basic knowledge to consider loxoscelism as a possible condition, to generate an early diagnosis from clinical data and anamnesis, with the identification of the animal that caused the accident when it is possible. The present study aims to describe the evolution of the lesions probably caused by Loxosceles sp. poisoning in a 6-year-old female canine, 7 kg, Fox Terrier breed, received at the Small Animal School Hospital of Veterinary Sciences Faculty, UNLPam. Lesions were observed on the left ocular conjunctiva, with evident bleeding, left upper lip with swelling and hematoma also with bleeding; edema and bruising of hind limbs in the popliteal and thigh regions. Laboratory studies showed hemolytic anemia and coagulopathy signs. The animal was treated with specific antivenom, fresh whole blood transfusion, corticosteroids, and antibiotics. Based on the clinical data and the evidence of the presence of Loxosceles sp. in the house (ootheca and molts), it is conjectured that this could be a case of dermo-hemolytic loxoscelism, with favorable evolution of the patient one week later, despite the severity of the case.","PeriodicalId":33906,"journal":{"name":"Ciencia Veterinaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49515297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

El objetivo de este estudio fue aportar información de estas variables para el caballo Criollo Argentino. Se estudiaron 8 yeguas de la raza Criollo Argentino. Les fueron colocados marcadores refractantes en sitios anatómicos predeterminados. Se les hizo recorrer una distancia de 15 metros sobre césped guiadas de la mano. Los recorridos se repitieron tres veces por individuo y se registraron en video. Los fotogramas se introdujeron en el software ImageJ para medir los ángulos articulares, de inclinación escapular y pélvica, protracción y retracción y de extensión, flexión y amplitud angular de cada articulación de los miembros, a la vez que se estableció la longitud y número de zancadas por batida y la velocidad a la que recorrieron los 15 metros. Se realizó estadística descriptiva de las variables. In veterinary medicine they are rare. The present report aims to describe the presence of a duodenal diverticulum in a Boxer breed canine, weighing 25 kg, with brown fur, two years old, whose history reflected sporadic vomiting, weight loss and hyporexia. Undergoing exploratory laparotomy due to the presence of a foreign body in the descending duodenum, the patient presented in situ, a deformation compatible with diverticula, with confirmation of it as histopathological result. Given the presence of gastrointestinal signs in canines, young people in general and Boxer breed in particular, it is suggested to consider the intestinal diverticulum as a pathological entity, within the differential diagnoses.","PeriodicalId":33906,"journal":{"name":"Ciencia Veterinaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46642774","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sera were processed by the indirect fluorescent antibody test IFAT (n = 629) and indirect ELISA (n = 619) techniques. The Chi-square, Odds Ratio (OR) and logistic regression were used for the statistical analysis of the variables. Of the 59 visited flocks, 67.8% of them had at least one seropositive goat, showing differences between FU (66.7%) and CF (80%). The general prevalence was 18.2% (95 % CI: 15.9-20.6%). The risk factors significantly associated to T. gondii prevalence greater than 20% of the sampled goats would be a percentage of cats greater than 1.1% in relation to the total number of mating goats (OR 5.26; 95% CI: 1.62-17.1) and the milking practice (OR 13.03; 95% CI: 2.1980.3). The present results show that infestations by T. gondii in the goat flocks of Salta and Jujuy are important and deserves further studies.","PeriodicalId":33906,"journal":{"name":"Ciencia Veterinaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46535688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
