The results of the current research work demonstrate how two different electrolytes affect the electrochemical behavior in relation to electrochemical machining performance of nitinol. Potentiodynamic polarisation (PDP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) tests have been conducted using 0.1 M H 2 SO 4 and mixed 0.1 M H 2 SO 4 + 0.1 M citric acid electrolyte. Further, the experimental investigation on the machining characteristics of nitinol during wire electrochemical machining (WECM) has been conducted. It is revealed that the grooves width and depth increase with increase in applied pulse voltage and surface roughness increase with increase in groove depth. The minimum width overcut of machined groove was 18.10 μ m in 0.1 M H 2 SO 4 + 0.1 M citric acid at 5 V pulse voltage which is less compared to width overcut of 24.85 μ m produced in 0.1 M H 2 SO 4 electrolyte for same parametric machining condition. This specific mixed electrolyte produced average surface roughness (Ra) of 0.0631 μ m at 5 V which is lower compared to 0.09055 μ m produced using 0.1 M H 2 SO 4 electrolyte. The fabrication of homogeneous average slit width of 92.234 μ m using citric acid mixed H 2 SO 4 electrolyte with minimum average surface roughness (Ra) of 0.0691 μ m shows the capability of WECM.","PeriodicalId":338397,"journal":{"name":"ECS Advances","volume":"307 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135297833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A series of optimum conditions such as graphene concentration, modifying amount, Nafion concentration, scanning speed, pH, accumulation potential and time were optimized. Under optimal experiments, some evaluation indexes were analyzed. Graphene/Nafion/GCE was successfully used in the detection and quantification of Pb 2+ in various real water samples using three methods above. Differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry method that is adopted to study the linear range and the detection limit for Pb 2+ proved to be more effective than the other two. The wider range is 0.02∼24.15 μ M, the lower detection limit is 5.1 mM and the recovery is 96.1%∼109.0%. To sum up, it will provide a theoretical basis and the practical method for the analysis of heavy metal polltants in different kinds of water.","PeriodicalId":338397,"journal":{"name":"ECS Advances","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135297839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The expanding use of portable devices has increased the demand for low-power circuit design. Sub-threshold circuits are the greatest option to address the demand for even more-low power. However, decreased performance and increased variability are the main problems with sub-threshold circuits. Furthermore, global interconnects have a significant impact on the performance and power dissipation of sub-threshold circuits. For future VLSI circuit applications, interconnect is a brand-new and very promising alternative that has to have its propagation latency and stability analysed in order to substantiate its claim that it can replace existing interconnect designs.","PeriodicalId":338397,"journal":{"name":"ECS Advances","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135387556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, in present work the Calcium Copper Titanate (CaCu 3 Ti 4 O 12 ) abbreviated as CCTO was prepared at different temperatures 800 °C, 850 °C, 875 °C, 900 °C, 925 °C, and 950 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD), diffuse reflectance measurement in the Ultra Violet (UV), Visible (Vis) (295 nm to 700 nm), and Near Infra-Red (NIR) region (700 nm to 2500 nm), optical band gap and colour were measured to establish its use as IR reflective pigment. The chemical stability and cooling performance were also investigated. The XRD investigations showed the single-phase CCTO with cubic symmetry can be obtained by the calcination of reactants at an optimum temperature of 925 °C. The Diffuse reflectance data, within the heat-producing NIR band (700 nm to 1100 nm) varied from 46.23% to 53.34%. The optical band gap was observed to vary from 3.30 eV to 2.03 eV. No significant color degradation was observed upon treatment with 10% H 2 SO 4 and 10% HNO 3 . Cooling performance assessment showed a significant difference of ∼5 °C between coated and uncoated red brick surfaces.","PeriodicalId":338397,"journal":{"name":"ECS Advances","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135254543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main focus is the analysis of the reaction kinetics on the basis of the corresponding activation barriers using density functional theory. We show that this method provides reasonable molecular structures and qualitative trends, whereas coupled cluster calculations are required to provide more accurate energies. We furthermore investigate the influence of different conducting salts on the decomposition barrier of ethylene carbonate, finding that appropriate salts can raise the barrier and thus mitigate the decomposition reaction. In particular, the results suggest that substitution of <?CDATA ${{rm{LiPF}}}_{6}$?> <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML\" overflow=\"scroll\"> <mml:msub> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi mathvariant=\"normal\">LiPF</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mn>6</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> </mml:msub> </mml:math> by lithium bis(oxalato)borate could drastically inhibit the reaction. Graphite felt (RGF) modified by acetylene black (ACET)/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was selected to prepare a superhydrophobic electrode (APGF), and the effects of each factor of ACET:PTFE, oxygen flux, and current density on the production of H2O2 were investigated, and the rate of H2O2 production under the optimized conditions of the experiment was 35.96 mg h−1 cm−2 which can meet the requirements of Electro-Fenton technology. The physicochemical characterization of RGF and APGF electrodes was analyzed, and the electrocatalytic performance was evaluated by using an electrochemical workstation to test APGF (7:1 ∼ 1:3). Probing the mechanism analysis, the APGF electrode surface is hydrophobic and the C/F functional groups synergize to increase the reactive sites and improve the reactivity and selectivity. However, efficiencies are currently much too low due to the high overpotentials required and/or low faradaic efficiency (FE) for urea formation. Although metal phthalocyanine catalysts can provide reasonably high FE (≤42%), high negative potentials (≤−0.75 V vs RHE) are required. Here it is shown that a water soluble, sulfonated iron(III) phthalocyanine can produce a higher FE for urea (54%) at +0.053 V vs RHE, with 25% coproduction of ammonia. Urea production was measured by the diacetyl monoxime (DAM) method, and verified by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry. Electrodes prepared with a carbon black support and Nafion binder exhibited good stability in the 0.1 M NaHCO3 electrolyte.","PeriodicalId":338397,"journal":{"name":"ECS Advances","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115708576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
