These stages that define the total lifespan of the tool are known as initial wear (IW), steady-state wear (SSW), and accelerated wear (AW). Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) was applied to signals, and signal spectrograms were used to train CNN models with different complex architectures. Vibration signals, acoustic emission signals, and motor current signals from The Nasa Ames Milling Dataset were used to obtain the spectrograms. Pre-trained CNNs (GoogleNet, AlexNet, ResNet-50, and EfficientNet-B0) detected the tool wear stage with varying accuracies. It has been seen that the time duration of model training increases as the size of the dataset grows and the network architecture becomes more complex. The recommended method has also been tested on the 2010 PHM Data Challenge Dataset. CNN shows promise for condition monitoring of milling operations and detecting tool wear stage.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131149544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The function of compressed air has been taken over by the belt and the elastic structure (materials used and shape of the components). The research presented in the paper was carried out in quasi-static conditions. The research's aim was to compare the radial stiffness, hysteresis and selected parameters of the contact patch of two non-pneumatic tires and four pneumatic tires used interchangeably in ATVs/UTVs. Analizowane opony niepneumatyczne charakteryzują się większą sztywnością radialną niż opony pneumatyczne tego samego rozmiaru. The analyzed non-pneumatic tire with a cellular structure has the highest hysteresis of the radial characteristics of the tested wheels and the highest values of the unit pressure in the area of contact patch. The paper also verified two methods of calculating the contact patch length of non-pneumatic tires.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121274992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A dual-stage two-phase attention-based encoder-decoder (DSTP-ED) prediction model is proposed for BAS normal state estimation. Unlike traditional ED networks, the DSTP-ED combines spatial and temporal attention to better capture the spatiotemporal relationships to achieve higher prediction accuracy. Five data-driven algorithms, autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA), support vector regression (SVR), long short-term memory (LSTM), ED, and DSTP-ED, are applied to build prediction models for BAS. The comparison experiments show that the DSTP-ED model outperforms the other four data-driven models. An exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control chart is used as the evaluation criterion for the BAS failure warning. An empirical study based on Quick Access Recorder (QAR) data from Airbus A320 series aircraft demonstrates that the proposed method can effectively predict failures.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"155 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114115760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The three-state system is backed up with a binary cold standby unit. Given that the system is at a specific state at time t, obtaining the MRL is worth considering in conducting the maintenance and repair plans of the system. For different degradation rates and time points, MRL results are examined. An HCTMP is considered for the degradation. Therefore, when the system is observed to be at its perfect state, the MRL decrease with an increase in all the failure rates of the system. However, when the system is observed to be at its partial state, the MRL is not affected by the increase in the failure rate pertained to the perfect state. The MRL when the system has known to be failed before time t and backed up with the standby unit increases with the time increase whereas the MRL when the system is at its perfect(or partial) state is constant when time increases. Moreover, cost evaluation of the system is analyzed. The results are supported with numerical examples and graphical representations.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126198805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the existing software reliability models, dynamic process of software fault is considered to be continuous when assessing reliability, but continuity of the process can be disrupted with appearance of random impulses. Thus, to more accurately assess software reliability, we proposed an OSS reliability model with SIDE. In the model, dynamic process of software fault is divided into a continuous and a skipped part, described the continuous part of the process with SDE, and described destruction of the continuity caused by unpredictable random events with random impulses. Finally, the proposed model is verified with two datasets from real OSS project, and the results show that the proposed model is more in line with reality and has better fitting effect than the existing models.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128702111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, machine-learning (ML) models have been widely used in the field of TCM with many favorable results. Nevertheless, in the actual industrial scenario, only a few samples are available for model training due to the cost of experiments, which significantly affects the performance of ML models. A time-series dimension expansion and transfer learning (TL) method is developed to boost the performance of TCM for small samples. First, a time-frequency Markov transition field (TFMTF) is proposed to encode the cutting force signal in the cutting process to two-dimensional images. Then, a modified TL network is established to learn and classify tool conditions under small samples. The performance of the proposed TFMTF-TL method is demonstrated by the benchmark PHM 2010 TCM dataset. The results show the proposed method effectively obtains superior classification accuracies for small samples and outperforms other four benchmark methods.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124460302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a method for the analysis of mechanism reliability that takes into account the influence of environmental factors and failure modes’ correlation, quantifies the influence of environmental factors as the random distribution and degradation path of parameters, and derives the Copula description of failure mode correlation from the historical data of environmental experiments. On the basis of the discrete mechanism dynamics model, the output parameters of the characteristic points are calculated, and the failure rate of each failure mode is calculated based on the failure criterion and the performance margin theory. Additionally, the dynamic change pattern of the mechanism reliability is compared with the Kaplan-Meier estimation of the corresponding environmental test history data to assess the validity of the calculation results. The reliability modelling problem of a motion mechanism of an automatic rifle automaton in a high and low temperature environment is applied to the method, and the reliability calculation results are close to those of Kaplan-Meier estimation of the test history data, and all are within the upper and lower bounds given by the reliability boundary theory, demonstrating the method's validity.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127844109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A joint surface equivalent stiffness model is derived and developed based on the connection characteristics of bolt screwing in the multi-exciting environment of the high pressure rotor. The model is used to analyze the effect of bolt missing at circumferential positions with the equivalent stiffness loss. Vibration experiments under both axial force and lateral impact were carried out to obtain the dynamic response feature of the multistage disk-drum simulated rotor with missing one bolt at different positions. The Spearman correlation coefficient was applied to evaluate the identification effect of different measuring points on the bolt loosening position. The study shows that the eigenfrequencies of experimental results have a consistent trend with the equivalent stiffness variation caused by single bolt missing model. This method also provides a theoretical basis for the detection of bolt deviation position with multi-exciting vibration detection.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123793541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dimensionless characteristics of exhaust emission and fuel mass consumption in the RDE test were also determined: emission intensity, particle number emission intensity, fuel mass consumption intensity. An algorithm for determining the characteristics specific distance pollutant emission, specific distance particle number and specific distance fuel mass consumption in the vehicle speed domain in the RDE test was presented using the Monte Carlo method. The determined characteristics were approximated by polynomial functions in the form of sets of points. These relationships were characterized by a large dispersion of values, which was primarily due to the fact that the random values of the averaging limits contain very different engine operating conditions.","PeriodicalId":335030,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128147167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
