In this paper we describe a method used for power consumption monitoring, on each WSN node, during network employment. It provides the actual power consumption to be utilized by the applications running on sensor nodes, the time when switched to actual consumption profile and also the overall current consumption since the node is in service. These results can be integrated with a battery model for the on-line determination of the energy available in batteries at a node level. Contributions of this paper are related to the dynamic consumption profiles which are linked not only to the states of the sensor modules but rather to the presence of relevant factors for power consumption.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123977319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper introduces a fully automated scenario for complex scheduling problems. There are two constraint satisfaction problems: the planner (determines which orders should be accepted) and the scheduler (determines the timetable for the products). The third main component of the architecture is an OPC UA server which uses the solutions of the scheduler in order to control the devices of the machine tools, on which the parts are manufactured. An important step has been the reduction of the solving time corresponding to the second CSP (the scheduler). Two important actions have been taken. First the model has been split into four distinct CSPs, one for each manufacturing stage. Thus locally optimum solutions are combined into a global solution which is comparable to the global optimum solution. Secondly, we have tested various search strategies and we have managed to reduce the solving time to less than half of the initial time.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122649356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The topology of the system consists of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), a diode bridge rectifier, a hybrid dc-dc converter which lowers the dc voltage, a supercapacitor and a battery charger. This strategy uses the measured wind speed and imposes the optimal rotation speed of the wind turbine. It presents the results of an exploratory experimental simulation whose goal was to analyze the possibility of establishing an Interchange Protocol for Digital Identities evolved in different geographic locations interconnected through and into an Intelligent Iris Verifier Distributed System (IIVDS) based on multi-enrollment. Finding a logically consistent model for the Interchange Protocol is the key factor in designing the future large-scale iris biometric networks. Therefore, the logical model of such a protocol is also investigated here. All tests are made on Bath Iris Database and prove that outstanding power of discrimination between the intra- and the inter-class comparisons can be achieved by an IIVDS, even when practicing 52.759.182 inter-class and 10.991.943 intra-class comparisons. Still, the test results confirm that inconsistent enrollment can change the logic of recognition from a fuzzified 2-valent consistent logic of biometric certitudes to a fuzzified 3-valent inconsistent possibilistic logic of biometric beliefs justified through experimentally determined probabilities, or to a fuzzified 8-valent logic which is almost consistent as a biometric theory - this quality being counterbalanced by an absolutely reasonable loss in the user comfort level.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115529153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Solutions for alternative energies generation and energy reduction are already discussed. Furthermore, energy efficiency has become an important aspect in data centers and large server systems. Virtualization is one of the main research directions for both large scale data centers and servers. This paper explores how virtualization solutions influence the power consumption of physical systems they are implemented on and which is the most effective way to test and measure the energy efficiency of these solutions. We determine the speed at which the system must work in order to obtain a maximum amount of electricity in a time interval of hours and days. For this purpose, we measure the wind speed and knowing the mechanical characteristic of the turbine, we calculate the optimum speed of the generator, such as during a long period of time (days) to obtain maximum energetic. There are presented a set of non-linear equations which model the wind turbine (WT) and the permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), the determination of the mechanical rotation speed at different wind speeds in order to obtain the maximum power from the wind. The effectiveness of the proposed method evaluates the electrical load at the PMSG which can be a micro grid or a battery of electrical accumulators.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128071855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
