Several studies are evaluating the beneficial and harmful effects of different pharmacological interventions such as antimalarial drugs, antiviral drugs, biologics, and interferon. To the best of our knowledge there was no trial for inhalation of raw freshly crushed garlic as a COVID-19 therapeutic although of many beneficial effects with minimal side effects. When the bulbs of garlic are cutted or crushed alliin is transformed into the Allicin by the enzyme alliinase. Allicin has anti-viral, anti-IL-6, anti-platelets and immunomodulatory effect; properties that could help to alleviate SARS-CoV-2 rapid spread, infection and subsequent complications. Allicin may be one of our best choices in the current Covid-19 pandemic because of its direct and indirect anti-viral activities with minimal side effects. Virucidal activity can reduce infection load, prevent infection and or may be of a value for significant treatment. This unique microstructure allows this material to be processed in a dental lab quickly and efficiently in its crystalline state and the exact tooth shade. This study aims to evaluate the color stability of zirconia reinforced lithium silicate ceramic and lithium disilicates ceramic restorations. Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study, 40 discs of 2mm thickness and 10mm in diameter would be fabricated, all samples were divided into two groups (n=20) according to ceramic material used: group Z zirconia reinforced lithium silicates ceramic(ZLS) and group L lithium disilicate ceramic(LS) discs. Each group was subdivided into two subgroups according to the aging process (n=10) (before and after aging). CIELAB color parameters of all samples were calculated from spectral reflectance measurements on a spectrophotometer to evaluate the effect of chemical aging on the color stability. Statistical Analysis: One-way ANOVA analysis was used to compare measurements among groups. Results: ZLS showed lower color stability than LS, and there was a statistical difference between them. Aging affected the color stability of the two ceramics but within an acceptable range with lithium disilicates. Conclusion: ZLS gave lower color stability than LS and aging affected the color stability of both types of ceramic. The postulated hypothecs of this study were ZLS will be higher color stability than LS and chemical aging will have a huge effect. Hepatotoxicity and bone marrow depression are acute side effects of CP through inducing oxidative stress. The concomitant use of captopril ameliorates these side effects. This study aimed to evaluate the possible protective effects of captopril against hepatotoxicity and bone marrow depression induced by CP in adult albino rats. In this experimental study, 60 rats were divided into 4 groups; the control group, the captopril treated group, CP treated group and the captopril-CP treated group. The liver tissues and bone marrow of rats in all groups were subjected to light and electron microscopic studies. The serum levels of liver function markers were assessed. The results showed that the injection of CP elevate serum ALT and AST compared to the control group. Concomitant treatment of captopril and CP decreases serum levels of ALT and AST. CP treated group showed diffuse lesion of liver tissue and bone marrow. The captopril-CP treated group showed minimal hepatic congestion and decreased adipose tissue in bone marrow. The current study suggested that captopril has protective effect against cyclophosphamide induced hepatotoxicity and myelotoxicity. Two extraction methods were applied to obtain acidsoluble collagen (ASC) and pepsin-soluble collagen (PSC) from Nile tilapia skin. In this study, collagen was characterized in terms of FT-IR Spectrum, amino acid analysis, SDS-PAGE and Thermal denaturation temperatures (Td). Also, some major functional properties including solubility, oil and water absorption, emulsifying activity, stability, foaming ability, foam stability, and gelation properties were determined. The results showed that the yields of ASC and PSC were 4.30% and 1.84 % (on a wet weight basis), respectively. Amino acid composition indicated that the imino acid content of ASC and PSC were found to be 172.10 and 164.18 residues per 1000 residues, respectively. The FTIR Spectrum confirmed that the presence of a triple-helical structure characteristic of ASC and PSC. SDS-PAGE results indicated that ASC and PSC were type I collagen. The denaturation temperature of ASC and PSC were 260 C and 250 C respectively. The solubility of ASC and PSC were highly solubilized in the pH range of 2–3. ASC and PSC had good water and oil absorption capacity. Gelation studies revealed that ASC and PSC have good gelation properties. Consequently, Nile tilapia skin could be used as a good source of collagen in the food industries. The four oils are Chamomile oil, Mustard oil, Soy oil, and Almond oil. MDPE was filled with four different weight contents of each oil: 5, 10, 15, and 20 wt. %. The composites were tested using pin-on-disc instrument. Five loads were applied during test, 12 N, 14 N, 16 N, 18 N, and 20 N. The general trend of results showed improvement of wear resistance. Almond oil achieved the best result of resisting wear. 15 wt. % of Almond oil content achieved the lowest value of wear. 20 wt. % of almond oil content achieved the lowest wear value at the highest load. The friction tended to increase with increasing the oil weight content of chamomile oil, soy oil, and almond. For mustard oil, the friction decreased. The results showed that blending oils with MDPE has a counter effect on hardness. SEM micrographs showed the changes in surface topography of MDPE due to filling oils with it.","PeriodicalId":33372,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Modern Research in English Language Studies","volume":"226 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74465943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This distribution is important since it contains as special sub-models some widely well-known distributions such as the exponential distribution (ED), the Rayleigh distribution (RD), the linear exponential distribution (LED), and the Weibull distribution (WD). The various techniques for estimations can be considered as maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), least-square estimation (LSE), weighted least square estimation (WLSE), Cramer Von-Mises estimation (CVME), and Anderson Darling estimation (ADE). These methods of estimations are used to estimate the unknown parameters of the well-known GLED. Two applications are used to show that the GLED is a viable distribution in modeling lifetime data and to compare the varying methods of estimations based on the Kolmogorov-Simnorov test with the corresponding P-value to show the optimal method. Finally, a simulation study is presented to compare the varying methods of estimation based on the mean square error (MSE) and the average absolute bias (AAB).","PeriodicalId":33372,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Modern Research in English Language Studies","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85270396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ten endophytic fungi were isolated from soybean (roots, stems, and leaves). All isolated endophytes (100%) exhibited CMC-ase, xylanase and amylase activities using the minimal synthetic medium (MSM) for enzyme production supplemented with 2% agar in presence of the appropriate carbon source including carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) for CMC-ase, xylan for xylanase and starch for amylase). The endophytic isolates showed growth stimulation on CMC and xylan media and were hyperactive in the presence of these substrates more than glucose. On the other hand, starch was investigated as the lower preferable substrate for these endophytes. These relevant results endeavored to explore endophytic fungi and to investigate their production of industrial microbial enzymes.","PeriodicalId":33372,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Modern Research in English Language Studies","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81559511","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The efficiency of photovoltaic cells can be enhanced by cooling which the temperature is considered as one of the main factors that affect negatively on the output power. This study was carried out to compare between three different cooling techniques and determine their effects on the output power. The first, cooling techniques is applied, the panel front surface cooled using the water spray on the surface. The second, the panel back surface cooled by extended fins. The third, the panel back surface cooled by extended fins with fans. As expected, the results of comparisons different methods using in cell cooling showed that, there is an increase in the efficiency of photovoltaic cells with the drop in cell temperature, which helps to increase the rate of photovoltaic cell performance and output power. In these experiments the output power increased 2.5%. At the first technique using water spray method the temperature dropped 7 degrees. At the other two methods the temperature dropped 3 degrees less than the panel without cooling. The used pump and fans were power consuming. So, the most effective method was cooling using the fins.","PeriodicalId":33372,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Modern Research in English Language Studies","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76331059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: Nano graphene oxide in five concentrations 0%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.15% and 1% by weight was incorporated to PMMA to form groups I-V respectively. To evaluate the antibacterial effect against Streptococcus Mutans, minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) for GO dispersion was done and agar well diffusion test for groups I-IV was done. Thermal expansion was assessed through measuring the linear coefficient of thermal expansion. Results: For antibacterial effect, all concentrations tested for MIC showed inhibition zone varied from 0.5 to 2mm in diameter. All tested groups evaluated by agar well diffusion method showed no inhibition zones except for group II. Significant reduction in coefficient of thermal expansion was showed by increasing GO concentration. Conclusions: Incorporation of GO in to PMMA at concentration of 0.5% can inhibit the growth of Streptococcus Mutans. There is an inverse relation between the concentrations of GO and the coefficient of thermal expansion.","PeriodicalId":33372,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Modern Research in English Language Studies","volume":"212 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79414031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
