To improve the computational efficiency, the updating of a cancellation signal is provided by an iterative algorithm. It is confirmed that the proposed algorithm attains computational intensity lower than half of a memory polynomial. A computer simulation has clarified that the PD improves the adjacent channel leakage power ratio (ACLR) of OFDM signals with several hundred subcarriers corresponding to 4G mobile radio communications. It has been confirmed that a fifth-order PD is effective up to a higher power level. The improvement of error vector magnitude (EVM) by the PD is also simulated for OFDM signals of which the subcarrier channels are modulated by 16 QAM.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"167 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116549897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two-tier networks, where the current cellular networks, i.e., macrocells, overlapped with a large number of randomly distributed femtocells, can potentially bring significant benefits. If femtocell access points (FAPs) operate within the same frequency band as macrocells, the cross-tier interference (CTI) creates a distinct impact on the system performance. This paper studies the uplink (UL) interference at FAP caused by approaching macrocell users (MUEs). It is noted that the CTI is more significant to the closed subscriber group (CSG) femtocells. We propose an incentive mechanism (IM) for CSG femtocells to alleviate the UL interfference from approaching MUEs, thus preventing the femtocell users performance from degrading and protecting the neighbor FAPs that might also suffer from the UL interference. Meanwhile, the macrocell also benefits from the IM, in terms of energy saving and UL spectral efficiency. Simulation results show that close to the ideal performance when no CTI presents can be achieved with IM, demonstrating that the proposed scheme is very effective in dealing with uplink CTI.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114403511","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When employed, sets of user equipment will have a set of serving cells, which includes a Primary cell (PCell) and Secondary cells (SCells). For inter evolved Node B (eNB) handover, target eNB is selected only consider the channel condition of the PCell. Thus, a suitable set of serving cells cannot be selected. In order to address this problem, this paper proposes three handover methods considering channel conditions for multiple cells. Methods 1 and 2 adjust the handover margin according to the difference in channel conditions between the PCell and SCells for the serving eNB. Method 3 decides handover based on equivalent channel conditions for the PCell and SCells in both the serving eNB and neighboring eNBs. Simulation results show that the proposed methods provide higher cell-edge throughput and a much smoother handover at the cost of a slightly increased number of handovers.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"156 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114514316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In 2-step QRM-MLBD, unreliable symbol candidates are removed by performing minimum mean square error based frequency-domain equalization (MMSE-FDE) prior to QRM-MLBD. However, a large number M of surviving paths is still required in the M-algorithm to achieve a BER performance close to the matched filter (MF) bound. In this paper, to remedy this problem, we introduce a detection ordering to 2-step QRM-MLBD. We will show by computer simulation that the use of detection ordering can achieve the same BER performance as 2-step QRM-MLBD while reducing the computational complexity.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122028623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a new graphical model based algorithm for the detection of MIMO systems. The main feature of the algorithm lies in that it is implemented as a MRF-like graph, when combined with the Gaussian approximation and vector-based inference, our algorithm can lead to very promising performance, especially when the constellation size is small, with just linear complexity per symbol and memory requirement increases linearly with the number of transmit antennas. Simulation results collaborate with the analytical results, hence verifying the appeal of the algorithm for practical applications.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"3 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129417352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed scheme is performed based on the exhaustive search of all possible mode combinations of the devices which consist of the mode indices for all devices in the system. Specifically, the proposed scheme consists of two steps. First, we calculate the optimal power with respect to the maximum power-efficiency for all possible modes of each device. Since the power-efficiency is not a concave function for the transmission power, we obtain the suboptimal solution by using the concavity of the lower and upper bound for the power-efficiency. The powerefficiencies for all possible modes of each device are obtained by the suboptimal power allocation in the first step. In the second step, we select a mode sequence which has the maximal power-efficiency among all possible mode combinations of the devices based on the obtained power-efficiencies in the first step. Then we can jointly obtain the suboptimal transmission power and the mode maximizing the power-efficiency. The proposed suboptimal scheme for the power allocation and mode selection performs close to the upper bound with respect to the power-efficiency. The simulation results also show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional schemes with respect to the power-efficiency and system capacity.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128352262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By increasing the channels' frequency selectivity with cyclic delays, the merit of multi-user diversity can be exploited more effectively in the system. This paper aims to optimize the design of the CDD-aided frequency-selective scheduling for downlink OFDMA systems. First, a low-complexity search of CD-values is proposed that results in a higher system capacity than the existing methods. Second, a new feedback method is proposed based on the principle of proportional-fair, where users who currently enjoy more downlink source are allotted less uplink resource for feedback. The method is shown to provide a better tradeoff between system capacity and fairness than the traditional methods, under a fixed feedback overhead. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by extensive computer simulations.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129682339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Radio resource management for the systems with the combined features are proposed, and the system performance is evaluated. Extensive simulations with various traffic load condition from full buffer with fixed number of UEs to finite buffer with bursty traffic were considered in order to find out when and how these two features can support each other to improve the overall performance gain of the LTE-Advanced system. For a reliable scheme, it is important to distinguish whether the CR user is reliable or not. In this paper, we proposed a collaborative spectrum sensing scheme based on the ROCQ reputation management model for CRNs. In the proposed scheme, each CR user has a reputation degree used to calculate its coefficient in the linear fusion process, and the reputation degree is initialized and adjusted by the central controller according to each CR user's sensing result, sensing correctness and report consistency. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme alleviates the corrupted sensing problem resulting from the destructive channel conditions between the primary transmitter and CR users. Moreover, compared to the optimal linear fusion scheme, the detection performance of our proposed scheme is approximately same while it requires no instantaneous SNRs. And the convergence of the reputation degree adjusting method also performs well.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121204696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The framework for this analysis assumes users and base stations (BSs) to be independently marked point processes in R2. The relationship between spatially averaged rate, user density, and base station density, which is an extension of findings in [1], is used in an affine power model to estimate the energy that can be saved by the two methods under consideration. The primary contribution of this paper constitutes an analytic relationship between spatially averaged rate, user density, BS density, transmit power, and the noise power. Another key contribution is a proof that shows that power saved by using sleep modes (or turning off BSs) is always greater than the power saved by varying the BW, for a system model implementing an affine power model (described here) when traffic densities below full load are considered.","PeriodicalId":333610,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121412066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
