The introduction contains a general outline of the problem situation regarding the need to replace the fleet of combat aircraft in Poland and identifies the research problem that the article focuses on. The subsequent parts of the assessment are: analysis of military threats and the essence of modern and future aerial warfare on the basis of which the author defines the requirements related to the specification of desirable combat aircraft and conducts a statistical survey indicating the recommended number of combat aircraft in Poland. The Military Doctrine of the Slovak Republic establishes three levels of war - strategic, operational and tactical, which are applied in war and non-military operations. However, in today‘s international environment, it is not possible to determine with certainty at what level the organisational structure operates. All levels are interconnected. The Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces focus on the\u0000strategic logistics management. The logistics office resolves operational and some strategic logistics issues. Logistics departments of ground and air forces deal with operational logistics management, influencing the tasks imposed on the commander in the operational plan for the use of Slovak armed forces, including the creation of procedures, doctrines and training documents. At a tactical level, the logistics of departments and units are organically integrated into the structures of their headquarters with their subordinate logistics units. The structure of logistics management in the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic (AF SR) and the role of its individual elements at the strategic, operational and tactical level is examined in this paper. In addition to the provision of air navigation services (ANS) for civil aviation (commercial air transport and general aviation),\u0000PANSA also provides navigation services for the crews of military aircraft and other state aircraft flying in operational air traffic (OAT). {"title":"MULTI-DOMAIN BATTLE. NEW DOCTRINE\u0000OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES","authors":"Tomasz Wójtowicz, Dariusz Król","doi":"10.5604/01.3001.0013.0879","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5604/01.3001.0013.0879","url":null,"abstract":"This article describes the newest doctrine of the U.S. Armed Forces, i.e. the Multi- Domain Battle (MDB) concept. It constitutes a description of several operational principles related to a potential conflict with the People’s Republic of China or the Russian Federation, such as the time and space for conducting military operations, the operating environment, the forces (base of operations), the target, the concentration of forces and the operational leeway. The article looks at the origins of the doctrine, the circumstances under which it was formed and people who contributed to its\u0000development. The authors also refer to historical U.S. doctrines, such as the AirLand Battle or AirSea Battle concepts. Along with the authors’ enthusiastic approach to MDB, the article also features some critical opinions which imply that the U.S. Army is not ready for MDB operations. The research methods that were used by the authors included analysis, synthesis, comparison and generalisation. Much space is devoted to analysing the U.S. Army’s official documents, including Multi-Domain Battle: Evolution of Combined Arms for the 21st Century 2025-2040, FM 3-0 Operations and TRADOC Multi-Domain Battle: Combined Arms for the 21st Century. The authors believe that Multi-Domain Battle is about to become the official military doctrine of the U.S. Armed Forces. In spite of the criticism, transformations of individual combat teams in the MDB spirit should be expected in the upcoming years. This doctrine also provides a military response to the geo-political changes occurring in the world, manifested as the United State’s limited role in certain regions, China’s growing power and Russia’s aggressive foreign policy. The conclusions formulated in\u0000the article may serve as the starting point for further studies dealing, inter alia, with the Polish Army’s readiness for conducting military operations, based on the MDB doctrine, jointly with the U.S. Army, the Polish Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2AD) capabilities and the role of military technologies in the MDB doctrine. An important part of the research was to present the course of the first Polish tank battles near Bobrujsk (28.08.1919), which were successfully supported by infantry units in the fight against the Red Army. It not only prevented the collapse of the regime of Bashar al-Assad but also enabled the initiative to be taken by the Syrian Arab Army. The simultaneous conducting of two military operations by the Russian army, i.e. the Russian involvement in both Ukraine and the Middle East, requires thorough investigations into the course of these operations. Such investigations may provide answers to a number of questions which appear of key importance to Poland, e.g., regarding Russia’s logistic and technological abilities to conduct military operations outside its territory, the military outcomes of the Russian intervention, and the potential social opposition to the human losses sustained by Russia as a result of such interventions. Considering the above, the aim of this article is to outline the Russian military intervention in Syria, and its influence on the course of the war.
