To perform their duties effectively, teachers’ mental well-being and inner states are essential. This study aims to define teacher resilience, give examples of the stressors and challenges that EFL/ESL college instructors face and the factors that lead to attrition and burnout. It also aims to propose strategies for coping with negative stressors. Results of a survey with a sample of EFL/ESL college instructors at five higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia who teach language, linguistics, translation and interpreting courses to undergraduate students showed that they face intellectual, emotional, and service-related stressors and challenges that impact their well-being and effectiveness such as high workload, limited support, meeting deadlines, managing their time effectively, students’ behavior and attitudes, classroom management and health concerns, financial and economic issues, balancing their work and personal, and lack of support and recognition. In addition, some instructors complained of lack of motivation and enthusiasm, fatigue, headaches, irritability, anxiety, depression, and difficulty concentrating. To combat stress, mental and emotional challenges that some instructors face, this study proposes some coping strategies based on the principles of positive psychology to help foster teacher resilience, maintain a strong and effective teaching workforce, and empower educators to thrive in their profession. These coping strategies cover psychological, pedagogical, interpersonal, and pragmatic aspects such as identifying the signs of stress, prioritizing self-care and well-being, setting achievable goals, time management and organization, embracing flexibility and adaptability, adopting a positive mindset, classroom management techniques, advocating for resources and support, attending professional development workshops, building/joining a strong support network, collaborating with other colleagues to share ideas and strategies, reflecting on and assessing their teaching practices, practicing mindfulness, quick relaxation techniques, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing, listening to music, regulating emotional responses, and celebrating small wins. The coping strategies posed herein are described in detail.","PeriodicalId":332368,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology and Behavior Studies","volume":"2 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141335683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between adolescents' self-control and parental control and how this relationship affects adolescents 'behavior and their psychological development. It is discussed through the methods of literature survey and conceptual analysis. The study found that the essence of parental psychological control is that parents achieve control by invading their children's inner world and undermining the development of their autonomy. This intrusive parenting style has a negative impact on adolescents' self-control through the family environment, parenting styles, and adolescents' coping styles. Based on these findings, we propose some recommendations for adolescents' self-control, in which parents should more actively support adolescents to make their own choices and develop their own sense of responsibility and decision-making skills.","PeriodicalId":332368,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology and Behavior Studies","volume":"1 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141356485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using purposive and snowball sampling, the data was gathered through a mixed method approach, including a questionnaire with 16 exchange alumni and a semi structured interview with 7 of them. The results of the study showed that most participants experienced difficulty readjusting due to different reasons, namely the unhealthy comparisons they made between their host and home cultures and the reverse homesickness and alienation they encountered in their home culture. The study also indicated two main coping strategies that students relied on to reduce their reverse culture shock: processing and accepting that they have become different after their exchange and staying in touch with fellow exchange alumni.","PeriodicalId":332368,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology and Behavior Studies","volume":"45 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140373525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the present time, health services are crucial for both health workers and the officers who assist them in performing their tasks. It is imperative that health care providers and those who assist them have a healthy work-life balance, which includes practicing good spirituality both personally and collectively. Finding out how spirituality affects the productivity of healthcare professionals and hospital staff was the primary goal of the study. Using primary data collected from hospital staff, this study was carried out in Annisa Hospital Cikarang, Indonesia. A total of ninety-six people filled out a questionnaire that measured workplace spirituality and employee performance; the methodology was quantitative. Simple regression analysis in SPSS was used to examine the gathered data. The computed t-value is bigger than the table t-value (7.133>1.9855), as the results demonstrated a computed t-value of 7.133 with a significance value of 0.000. Employees' performance at Annisa Hospital is positively and significantly impacted by workplace spirituality, as the significance value is less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). In order to advance healthcare organisations' human resource management practices, this study's findings shed light on the connection between spirituality in the workplace and employee performance in hospitals. Organisational leaders and managers in the health care sector can benefit practically from this study. All of the hospital's staff can benefit from a more upbeat and productive work atmosphere if spirituality is more recognised and supported in the workplace. This, in turn, will improve patient care.","PeriodicalId":332368,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology and Behavior Studies","volume":"95 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140449160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the study was to examine the association between the role of psychosocial support and resilience in 152 infertility patients at 2 hospitals in North Vietnam. Participants completed the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). The findings demonstrated that resilience in infertility patients, both generally and specifically in women, was significantly predicted by support from friends and family. Meanwhile, psychosocial support sources have no effect on resilience in infertile men. The findings highlight the importance of psychosocial support for people diagnosed with infertility in the Vietnamese cultural context.","PeriodicalId":332368,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology and Behavior Studies","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140495407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main purpose of this paper was to expatiate on the several ways in which contemporary marketing organizations are applying positive psychology’s principles and concepts in their operations. The study adopted desk research methodology, which relied on published literature in several relevant journals. From extant literature reviewed, it was highlighted that positive psychology is a relatively new field of psychology concerned with promoting positive emotions, positive character traits, positive institutions and positive relationships in the society. Given its enormous potential, positive psychology is rapidly being applied by marketing organizations in several ways including: emotion-based marketing, product personalization, social proof, brand storytelling, influencer marketing, gamification, social media marketing, and sustainability marketing. For its effective implementation in marketing, we have recommended, among others, that marketers should use positive psychology to highlight features that enhance well-being, promote personal growth, and contribute to positive experiences of customers; marketers should craft promotional messages and experiences that evoke positive emotions (such as joy, gratitude, and inspiration) and resonate with customers on an emotional level; marketers should also highlight social proof and create a sense of community around their brand to enhance trust and belonging by showcasing customer testimonials, reviews, and success stories. The application of these insights will ensure that marketing campaigns and operations not only create value for customers, but also promote positive wellbeing, character traits and positive emotions among customers.","PeriodicalId":332368,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology and Behavior Studies","volume":"77 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138998773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through his leadership style, a leader can influence well-being and job satisfaction by paying attention to and meeting the needs of his employees. If employee needs have been met, employees will work as much as possible towards increasing work productivity. Therefore, a leadership style is needed that can affect the welfare and productivity of employees with an Industrial Psychology approach. The method used in this study can be classified as descriptive research, meaning by researching and holding discussions and describing systematically, then looking for relationships from these source data to get a desired conclusion for the solution faced. The results of this study show that a good leadership style and organizational culture can foster commitment in employees. Commitment in the organization is a trigger for organizational success. The role of psychology in psychology is to answer psychological problems by integrating industry and organizations as a practical way to solve problems that arise.","PeriodicalId":332368,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology and Behavior Studies","volume":"249 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139205693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Innovative work behavior is seen as the most important contributor to the organization's performance and sustainability in the face of VUCA. Authentic leadership is a variable that impacts innovative work behavior. This research aimed to examine the effect of authentic leadership on innovative work behavior by mediating the role of work meaningfulness. 208 employees from one of the Learning & Consulting companies in Indonesia were selected by simple random sampling. Data analysis used a simple mediation model by Hayes. The result shows that work meaningfulness has a role booster as a mediator between authentic leadership and innovative work behavior. The results of the study revealed that organizations could enhance creative work behavior by offering authentic leadership development programs for all leaders. The leader can stimulate information and opinion, build trustworthy relationships with employees and communicate the company's vision, goal, objectives, and values linked to employees' personal values. Then for strengthening, companies can further support by explaining the importance of the meaning of work, the roles and contributions of employees to the company and the large purpose. It is hoped that this study has provided some insights into the effect of authentic leadership on innovative work behavior mediated by work meaningfulness.","PeriodicalId":332368,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology and Behavior Studies","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123102249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
