The methodological design was observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, and correlational, and the sample consisted of 123 children enrolled in the IEI N ° 161 \"Carapongo\" during the year 2018. A validated questionnaire addressed to the parents was carried out, children were evaluated clinically using the ceo-d index, the data were analyzed statistically and for the possible correlation of the variables the Spearman correlation coefficient statistical test was used. A prevalence of dental caries of 89.43% was found for children between 36 and 71 months, (X= 4.03, SD= 2.820) which indicates a moderate level of severity, where children aged 60-71 months obtained a higher ceo-d index. (X= 4.18, SD= 3.16) with respect to the other age groups. Regarding the parents, they presented a level of knowledge in regular oral health, where parents with complete university education presented all, a higher level of knowledge (Good). The correlation of the main variables was p <0.001 and a ρ = -0.906. There is a relationship between dental caries in preschoolers with the level of knowledge of parents, and the latter with their educational level. So it is important that parents have basic knowledge in oral health, hence this is reflected in the oral health of their children.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43490489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After the process of thermal aging, pigmentation with methylene blue and cutting in the lingual buccal direction, the fragments with the highest integrity were analyzed to the stereomicroscope by three evaluators who established the degree of micro filtration at the cervical and occlusal levels; the average obtained by surface per tooth was analyzed statistically. Results: The analysis performed revealed normality in the data, finding through the Tukey test that all groups are equal, with no difference in treatment and material used. Conclusions: Micro filtration was evident in all the groups independent of the cleaning treatment and the restoration material used, most notably at the level of the cervical wall.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48264249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and methods: Sixty children of 6 to 8 years of age were evaluated and attended the Dental Center of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of San Martin de Porres, which were distributed in three groups, each of 20 children: group paracetamol, ibuprofen group and the control group. In the first two, the corresponding drug was administered orally 30 minutes before surgery (paracetamol 15 mg / kg or Ibuprofen 10 mg / kg). The following variables were evaluated: presence of pain, time of presence of pain, intensity of pain, and time elapsed for rescue analgesia. Results: Significant differences were found in the presence of pain variable and in the time of presence of pain among the 3 groups. There was no significance between the variables studied between the two groups with drugs . Conclusions: Analgesic prophylaxis is an effective alternative to conventional post-surgical pharmacological treatment. Ibuprofen and Paracetamol are drugs with similar efficacy for this purpose, despite presenting different pharmacological action.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47828620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The literature defines ankylosis as an abnormal immobility of the jaw, disorder that leads to a restriction of the buccal opening with partial reduction of mandibular movements or a complete immobility of the jaw. We present a case of unilateral temporomandibular ankylosis (left) in a 14-year-old boy, who treated with ankylosing block resection, after mandibular fracture in order to elongate the soft tissues and maintain space in the new glenoid cavity to avoid re-ankylosis and favor the remodeling of the condyle.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45444413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We were also done a clinical examination to assess the presence of caries and plaque. The data was compiled in an Excel table and were analyzed in SPSS program. Results: 60.8% of the minor participants belonging to the female gender. CAMBRA survey has a high-risk measure. Meanwhile, the clinical examination determined that the temporal teeth caries index was 4.62 with the presence of a plaque in 86% of the evaluated population. Conclusions: According to the survey, CAMBRA applied, the risk to the presentation of caries is high and is related to the rates of tooth decay and dental plaque detected in the same population.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44006425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
