Samples were randomly assigned among 4 experimental groups (n=11) receiving surface treatment according to the different groups M, H, B, L. (n=10) were distributed for color evaluation and Roughness (RU) and a sample of each group used for scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. For (RU), the data were subjected to ANOVA on ranks (α=0.05), and for the color ANOVA a factor (α=0.05). In the microphotographs of the surface, a qualitative/descriptive analysis was carried out. Results: In the (RU) compared before and after immersion for each group, no statistical difference was observed (p> 0.05). When comparing the types of polish before immersion, a difference was observed between the L group with the other M, H, B (p <0.05). In the analysis of the groups after immersion, there was a difference of group L with B and M (p <0.05). When comparing the color alteration, after immersion, there was a difference between all the ANOVA groups (p <0.05). In the analysis by (SEM) all groups had partially porous surfaces; however, the varnishes produced the best result groups H and B.The texture of the surface is an important factor in the pigmentability of ceramics. the varnished materials showed less color alteration.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43751769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among these localized fibrous growths, it has been found that traumatic fibroma is the most common in the oral cavity. The traumatic fibroma is a reactive fibrous hyperplasia caused by trauma or local irritation, such as the presence of calculus, overhanging margins of restorations, orthodontic appliances, among others. This pathology is also known as irritation fibroma, inflammatory fibroma, focal fibrous hyperplasia, fibrous nodule and fibrous polyp. It can occur anywhere in the oral cavity but it is more frequently seen in the buccal mucosa or along the occlusal plane. Traumatic fibroma is a common lesion in the oral cavity. Therefore, a wide knowledge about this injury would be useful for dentists in the treatment of their patients.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44002018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Material and Method : This is an observational, analytical, cross-sectional study. We evaluated 108 children of both sexes, aged 6 to 8 years. The sample was divided into two groups, a study group that drank industrialized fruit juices and a control group that drank water. A basal salivary pH measurement was performed for both groups with a digital pH meter, and after drinking the industrialized fruit juice or water, it was measured again at intervals of 5 and 10 minutes. The gingival condition was evaluated by Loe Silness Gingival Index and PMA Index. Results : No correlation was found between the Loe Silness Gingival Index and the salivary pHin both groups, p> 0.05. In the study group, basal salivary pH was slightly acidic and a greater fall in pH was observed after 5 minutes of consuming fruit juice, p <0.001. An inverse correlation was found between the gingival index and the salivary pH, in the control group, with a higher gingival index, lower salivary pH. The gingival index in the study group was moderate and in the mild control group. Conclusions : There is no correlation between the gingival health of the children evaluated and the salivary pH associated with the consumption of industrialized fruit juices.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48283723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accidents during these procedures commonly occur which affect the prognosis of root canal treatment. A furcal perforation is a complication that refers to the mechanical or pathological communication between the pulp chamber and supporting ligament, in the lower area of the pulp chamber and leads to the worst result of the treatment. It can occur during the endodontic access or during the preparation of an intraradicular retainer, although it can also be due to caries lesions of root absorption. For long term success, perforations should be repaired as soon as possible with a biocompatible material any delay causes bacterial contamination and leads to complicated periodontal endodontic lesions. An ideal perforation repair material , should create an adequate seal, be biocompatible, not be affect by blood contamination, be a bactericide, radiopaque, induce bone formation and healing, induce mineralization, cementogenesis, facilite its manipulation and application. Various materials have been used to repair furcal perforations including MTA and Biodentine. The objective of this study is to carry out a review of the literature about the sealing capacity of MTA and Biodentine in the repair of furcal perforations. To reach this objective a bibliographic review is carried out in the leading odontological databases and magazines and articles are chosen according to their scientific validity their relationship with the topic and the year of publication wich stretches from 2009 to 2018.","PeriodicalId":33162,"journal":{"name":"Kiru","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47790670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
