A total of 120 professional married women, 73 officer level and 47 non-officer level professional married women from banks were included. The study followed descriptive and analytical research design. The reliability analysis, Pearson correlation and regression analyses were carried on to test the proposed hypotheses. The Cronbach’s alpha also showed reliability of the given variables under the study. Results showed more significant associations between job satisfaction and organizational commitment exist in non-official level than overall levels (officer and non officer level) and officer level professional married women respectively. Thus, job satisfaction influenced significantly to organizational commitment in non-officer level, overall levels and officer levels professional married women. Thus, more attention should be given to the professional married women in the officer level job position for improvement job satisfaction and commitment from individual and organizational level.","PeriodicalId":331142,"journal":{"name":"PYC Nepal Journal of Management","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114682107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Managers should push forward organisational manoeuvres to manage their human resource development (HRD) function by embodying strategic factors in a commensurate manner. It requires them to strategize the way they train and develop their human resources and talents; that is, the process of strategic HRD. Therefore, this paper reviewed the past literature to identify the strategic HRD factors, which are the organisational manoeuvres essential to manage HRD strategically. Based on the critical deliberations on the previous literature, it infers that there are seven key strategic factors that strategize HRD in an organisation. It helps build an agile, resilient organisation that can sustain in both normal and crisis times.","PeriodicalId":331142,"journal":{"name":"PYC Nepal Journal of Management","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133739628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study has used Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bounds testing approach to identify the co-integrating relationship between macroeconomic variables and stock market performance. The stock market performance is measured by market capitalization which is considered as dependent variable and selected macroeconomic factors such as broad money supply measured by M2, economic growth measured by gross domestic product (GDP) and interest rate measured by 91-days Treasury bill rate are considered as explanatory variables. ARDL bounds test reveals that stock market performance is co-integrated with macroeconomic variables. Similarly, result of this paper shows the significant positive impact of economic growth. Further, finding reports a significant negative effect of broad money supply and interest rate on performance of Nepalese stock market in long-run. Finally, this paper concludes that disequilibrium of stock market performance in short-run is corrected by GDP, M2 and IR in the long-run. The policy implication of this paper is in formulation of capital market policy, monetary policy, financial policy and economic policy. Stock market policy makers should consider macroeconomic variables while formulating capital market policy for the better performance of stock market in Nepal.","PeriodicalId":331142,"journal":{"name":"PYC Nepal Journal of Management","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133155843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The descriptive and analytical research designs have been adopted in the research. The quantitative data has been obtained from annual reports of NEA. The study covers eight years period from 2011/12 to 2018/19. The study concludes despite being the sole distributor of the electricity in the country, the financial performance, measured in terms of ROE, of NEA is very poor in first five years (2010/11 – 2015/16) of the study period. The primary source of such poor performance was negative profit margin. Besides, NEA is also exposed to higher financial risk measured in terms of equity multiplier. However, both these measures, ROE and EM have improved in later two years (2016/17 – 2017/18) of the study period.","PeriodicalId":331142,"journal":{"name":"PYC Nepal Journal of Management","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130876630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study finds that stock market size, liquidity and banking development measures predict the economic growth in the context of Nepal. Similarly, the study results show the important role of banking development on economic growth process of Nepal because all indicators of banking development have positive and significant impact on growth. The study results shed light on the fact that both the level of stock market development and the level of banking development can influence the economic growth of Nepal. This finding supports the notion of Levine (1996) which articulates that stock market and banking sector are independently as well as jointly significant in promoting economic growth.  ","PeriodicalId":331142,"journal":{"name":"PYC Nepal Journal of Management","volume":"249 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125776473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The explained variable for the study is stock return which is calculated as the annual capital gain yield. The explanatory variables consist of firm size, book to market equity, earning yield, cash flow yield, GDP growth, rate of inflation, real interest rate, and money supply. The data are collected from the database of NEPSE, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), and the annual reports of the selected firms. The study is based on the 150 observations from the 10 sample firms for the period of 15 years (from 2003/4 to 2017/18). Fixed effect panel data analysis is used to examine the effect of firm characteristics and macroeconomic variables on common stock return in Nepalese firms. The findings confirms significant negative impact of firm size, book to market equity, earning yield, and cash flow yield on stock return in Nepalese context. Among the macroeconomic variables, GDP growth rate, and interest rate have significant negative impact on stock return. Contrarily, only the rate of inflation has significant positive impact on stock return in the context of Nepal. No significant effect of money supply is observed on common stock return in the context of Nepal.","PeriodicalId":331142,"journal":{"name":"PYC Nepal Journal of Management","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115866622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study adopts descriptive and explorative research design to deal with the fundamental issues associated with various factors of customers’ satisfaction and retail banking. The study is based on questionnaire survey of 200 customers of 10 different “A” class financial institutions, i.e. commercial banks. Descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient and regression analysis have been applied to estimate the relationship between customer satisfaction as dependent variable and service quality variables as independent variables. The empirical evidences indicate that reliability, responsiveness, assurance and tangibles factors have positive and significant impact on customer satisfaction. It reveals that higher the level of responsiveness, reliability, assurance and tangibility higher would be the customer satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":331142,"journal":{"name":"PYC Nepal Journal of Management","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122609536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
