Firstly, the MST, which introduces two regulatory factors into traditional S-transform and obtains proper time and frequency resolution, is detailed. Then, the time-frequency matrix model is obtained through MST time-frequency analysis on the 7 kinds of common power quality disturbance signals, which include swell, sag, interruption, oscillatory, spike, notch, and harmonics. Furthermore, 11 features of time-domain and frequency-domain are extracted from the matrix model. Finally, the extracted features are sent into multi-class SVM to achieve automatic classification. According to the relevant published online monitoring standards, technical guides and solutions, this paper first introduces the basic structure and function of the high voltage online monitoring system of the smart substation. After that, the detail terms about the monitoring device, comprehensive monitoring unit, substation monitoring unit and communication protocols were covered respectively. Following an outage, it is critical to restore system back to a normal operation condition as efficiently as possible. The advanced decision support tools are needed to assist system operators to restore a grid from major outages efficiently and safely and enhance the resilience of a smart grid. In this paper, optimization modules are developed for generation, transmission and distribution system restoration. These developed modules provide an automated and “best adaptive strategy” procedure for power system restoration. The IEEE 39-bus test system is used to validate the proposed strategy. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed optimization-based power system restoration strategy is highly efficient. The design makes the reservation interlocking modules executable and integration repeatable, provides for the seamless distribution application and the reuse of the configuration when the same instance occurs. Conventional PD measuring systems have some difficulties in the measurements especially under on-line and noisy conditions. There is a growing tendency to use new measuring systems for the detection of PD pulses in 10 kV switchgears. In this paper, a new PD detection method based on Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) has been proposed. An efficient sensor was employed to detect PD pulses. The TEV sensor was implemented on a 10 kV switchgear and the TEV signals of three kinds of discharge were recorded and analyzed. The distribution characteristics of the signals were studied to achieve the pattern recognition. Finally the result of pattern recognition based on TEV signals was discussed. The SVC device is used to minimize the real power losses and to improve the voltage profile during various operation scenarios disturbed by wind power variations. The model is also formulated as a constrained optimization problem, where the constraint is to let the voltage of connection point of the wind farms into the grid close to 1 p.u., which is formulated as a penalty function into the objective function. Although passive schemes have larger Non Detection Zones (NDZ) relative to other schemes, they are more used in utilities due to their low costs and less PQ problems than other schemes. Passive Schemes are based on the measurements of passive system parameters. These parameters are measured at the point of common coupling (PCC). A new approach in passive techniques is the use of data-mining to classify the system parameters. In this paper, massive indices are collected by simulation of a practical distribution system in PSCAD/EMTP environment. These indices include voltage, frequency, current, active power and etc. The classifying process of these indices is done by the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) in MATLAB and the resultant logics and boundaries are implemented by the fuzzy logic using MATLAB software. The results show the effectiveness of ANFIS in reducing the NDZ of passive islanding detection schemes.
