In this context, this paper first presents a brief review on the development of maintenance policies with emphasis on CBM. In CBM, we classify the literature into three classes: CBM1, CBM2, and CBM3. And then we summarize the maintenance scheduling problem in power system under different time scales. The accurate evaluation on the insulator hydrophobicity is increasingly required for the long-term performance of outdoor insulators in the smart grid. In this paper, based on dynamic dropping test (DDT), acoustic characteristic of surface discharges generated by the dynamic behavior of water droplet was investigated to evaluate the hydrophobic properties of silicone rubber insulator at different ageing levels. The specimens were prepared by using the method of corona degradation and determined by contact angle (CA). It is found that characteristic of discharge sound changing with the decrease of CA. According to the difference of adjustment performance of units and the characteristic of daily load curve, an AGC units grouping and time-sharing control strategy is proposed. During load emergency period all adjustable capacity in system should be fully used for tracking load. In the load steady period the power of fast units is replaced by slow units' so that they can keep certain quick adjustable capacity in system and reduce the units inadvertent reverse adjustment. Proven through long-term practice, there are some limitations and the one-sidedness of this method. For some leakage or flashover high impedance faults, in order to further determine the nature of the faults, DC voltage test must be applied on the basis of the above. When the intermittent earthing signal of the operating cable occurs or the grounding insulation resistance greater than 5MΩ, the DC voltage test should be used to determine the nature of the fault. The electrical energy can then be used to replace existing alternator recharging systems in today's vehicles or in future hybrid-electric vehicles, and both of them to power the vehicle on-board electric energy storage systems. The MHD power generator has been developed to utilize this waste heat to improve the operating efficiency of the vehicle and thus improve fuel economy. The modeled generator shows that 2.4kW energy are available from the engine exhaust. This research shows that the MHD energy conversion generator is suitable to maintain the battery charge. The high temperature exhaust gases experienced in the vehicle can improve vehicle emission energy conversion efficiency up to 19.5%. This project of applying MHD power generation technology into conversion the energy of exhaust gases is a new conception in the aspect of energy conversion. The boundary of the load margin is complex and non-convex, so that the conventional approach for closest bifurcation is most likely to get a local closest solution instead of the global one. This paper presents a new approach, in which continuation power flow and particle swarm optimization (PSO) based on simulated annealing (SA) are both used to calculate the closest bifurcation. The combination approach can search the object in the global scope and have the ability (probability) to jump out of the local extreme value. At the subsystem level, the estimators apply augmented Fast Decoupled State Estimation algorithm to reduce the computational time at the first step. At the coordination level, linear estimators based on PMUs measurements are able to coordinate the voltage states of boundary buses, which lead to the further improvement of computational performance. Tests on the IEEE 118-bus system demonstrate the performance of the novel FDSELC algorithms. The results are compared with centralized and other distributed state estimation algorithms in terms of both the estimation quality and computational cost. In addition, the proposed FDSELC algorithm with the distributed control architecture is suitable for future smart grids. Therefore, this paper proposes an active power coordination control strategy for wind farm cluster (WFC). The corresponding control system is divided into four levels - wind energy management level, collector station regulation level, wind farm regulation level, wind turbine execution level - by using hierarchical principle. At the same time, in order to adapt to the complex and changeable operation situation of power system, five operational modes are proposed, which are Normal Operation mode, Peak-load Regulation mode, Frequency Regulation mode, Emergency Reduce mode and Communication Fault mode.
