The performance is measured by analyzing the volatility of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) and the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) IHSG during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the results of the different tests using the paired t-test and Wilcoxon rank test methods, it was concluded that the ISSI and IHSG experienced significant changes before and after discovering the first case of Covid-19 in Indonesia. Significant changes in both values are also found when the Delta variance spreads. Meanwhile, when the third wave occurred due to the presence of the Omicron variant, ISSI and IHSG were able to move more stable and did not experience significant shocks. Then, the estimation results of the GARCH model conclude that both Islamic stocks and conventional stocks have an immense volatility power with an identical value of 0.94 or close to 1. The volatility is also significantly influenced by the previous volatility and the squared error representing other previous events outside the model. The volatility that occurs in Islamic and conventional stocks is not much different, even though both stocks have different characters in the ratio of debt and income. Fundamental factors also cause this high volatility in the form of shocks in several macroeconomic variables, including the rupiah exchange rate, gold prices, and world oil prices. In addition, the contagion effect that occurred during the Covid-19 crisis also contributed to the spread of systemic risk in global stock indexes on stock volatility in Indonesia","PeriodicalId":33058,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47548759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can be observed, however, that Muslims in Kano State narrow their perception of waqf only to be in the form of a kind but not in cash. It is to say that public awareness and understanding of cash waqf are insignificant. Therefore, this study aims to assess factors influencing the intention to accept cash waqf among entrepreneurs in the Kano metropolis with particular reference to Singer Market. The study employed partial least square–structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and was theoretically guided by the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Structured survey questionnaires were administered to 379 respondents whom were registered entrepreneurs in Singer Market based on a convenience non-probability sampling technique. Descriptive statistics using charts and tables were employed to analyze the demographic information, while data collected from the respondents were analyzed utilizing AMOS, version 21. The study uncovered that perceived behavioral control and religiosity significantly influenced the intention to accept cash waqf among entrepreneurs in Singer Market in Kano Metropolis, while awareness and attitude did not. This paper recommends that the management of the Kano State Zakat and Hubsi Commission (KSZHC) should establish sensitization programs to create awareness and promote cash waqf for the public to mobilize more potential waqf donors in the state.","PeriodicalId":33058,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49575683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A balanced panel data set consisting of 28 SSA countries from 1996 – 2015 was used. Random effects techniques were also used. Bilateral aid was found to have negative significant impact on domestic savings of SSA countries, reflecting a crowding-out effect; while the impact of multilateral aid on domestic savings of SSA countries was found insignificant. When the bilateral and multilateral aid variables were interacted with institutional quality, the coefficient of interaction between bilateral aid and institutional quality was insignificant, while that between multilateral aid was positive and significant, implying that the impact of multilateral aid on domestic savings depends on good quality institutions. Therefore, bilateral aid is a disservice to SSA countries since it crowds-out domestic savings regardless of institutional quality; however, multilateral aid can be beneficial to SSA countries if good quality institutions exist.","PeriodicalId":33058,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance","volume":"49 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79385931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Theoretically, the monetary policy transmission is expected to differ between developed and developing countries due to varied structural and institutional features. The empirical work undertaken by this study suggests that the sensitivity of output and prices to changes in monetary policy are generally weak and slow. Moreover, the study found a significant contribution of monetary policy in explaining dynamics of supply of credit to private sector which matters in fostering the growth of the economy. And lastly, it appears that inflation and exchange rate dynamics in Tanzania are highly influenced by developments in the international oil prices. There are potentially three policy implications, the first one being sustaining financial sector reforms geared towards eliminating the remaining structural impediments that hinder financial deepening, the Bank may choose to switch to an alternative monetary policy framework that has proved to be successful in attaining price stability, the Bank of Tanzania should continue with close monitoring of the global developments especially the movements in the international oil prices and react appropriately in order to safeguard the domestic macroeconomic stability.","PeriodicalId":33058,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance","volume":"3 7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82886558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research is a field research, data collection techniques using documentation and interviews. The analysis technique used is a qualitative technique. The results of this study indicate that the distribution of company zakat is carried out by taking into account two criteria, namely consumptive and productive. Consumptive zakat is given directly to mustahik without empowerment. This zakat is distributed directly to the underprivileged people who are around the hotel in the form of consumable needs, such as food, clothing, and housing needs in general. Meanwhile, for productive zakat distribution, the hotel cooperates with the Amil Zakat Institution in Metro City, the hotel gives its zakat funds to the amil zakat institution. The zakat funds are used to support productive zakat distribution programs in Metro City.","PeriodicalId":33058,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78191899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of research is a quantitative study using the regression analysis model. To measure the dependent variable indicators the ordinal scale is used (0-1), and the independent variables are using the Likert scale (1-4). The results of this study indicate that the results of simultaneous testing show that all variables have a significant effect on Islamic financial literacy. This can be seen from the results of the Chi-Square test. However, in the significance test, one of the variables was not significant, namely education, only 3 variables had a significant effect, namely radio broadcasts, local influencers, and culture (nganggung). Based on these statistical results, it can be understood that through radio broadcasts with sharia economic programs, the public gets important information about this matter. Likewise, influential figures such as traditional leaders, community leaders, and religious leaders who have adequate sharia economic insight will contribute to increasing sharia economic literacy. Through the Nganggung Culture, the community will receive this information more quickly.","PeriodicalId":33058,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance","volume":"35 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80502700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sale and purchase transaction is declared invalid if one of the parties feels compelled and disadvantaged due to product defects. The method used in this article is a field research study with a phenomemological approach. The findings of this study are that video unboxing becomes the mechanism of choice for buyers to Khiyar or the choice to continue or cancel the transaction made. Buyers who upload unboxing videos showing product defects are given the opportunity to cancel the transaction or exchange it for a new product. This mechanism arises because sellers and buyers do not meet directly in the online transaction process. Video unboxing is done as a form of awareness and responsibility (responsibility) in muamalah as a form of ethics in business. The unboxing video will ultimately give pleasure to both the seller and the buyer as a condition for the fulfillment of blessings in the transaction","PeriodicalId":33058,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance","volume":"140 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77629174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
