This paper examined presenteeism and staff productivity in GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria PLC (GSK). The study adopted descriptive survey research method and. Convenience sampling technique was used to select 219 respondents for data collection. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient statistical tool. The result obtained indicate a significant relationship between demographic characteristics linked to employee’s presenteeism and staff productivity at the GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria PLC (GSK) with correlation value of 0.820. Also, the Pearson correlation coefficient between health problems and productivity loss was 0.819 indicating that there was a significant relationship in the nature of health problems as the source of presenteeism and productivity loss in work organisations. Therefore, the study submits that certain health conditions predispose toward presenteeism led to absenteeism. Structural change in Nigeria’s listed insurance businesses is the primary focus of this research, which examines the impact on employee service quality. Survey research was used in the study. There were 4,822 workers of the 23 listed insurance firms in Nigeria that were included in the study’s population. The target demographic was represented by a sample of 480 participants. A multi-stage sampling method was used to choose the participants. Stratified and purposive sampling methods were used in this study. A modified questionnaire produced by previous researchers and divided into three parts was employed in the study. Through the use of content validity, the researcher was able to verify the reliability of the research instrument. Because the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient reliability result of structural change was 0.718 and the employee’s quality of service was 0.725, the questionnaire was declared relable. Regression analysis was used to examine the presented hypothesis. Employees’ quality of service is negatively affected by structural change (beta = -0.0851, P-value = 0.2090-0.05) but is statistically insignificant (beta = -0.0851). But this research found that structural modifications allow service organizations, including the insurance business, to share a same vision and goal. As a result, every organization that is going through a period of transition needs a solid organizational structure in place. Consequently, it was proposed that the workers who are directly engaged about structural change should only be permitted to participate in the decision making process about the adjustment.","PeriodicalId":330290,"journal":{"name":"LASU Journal of Employment Relations & Human Resource Management","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116714065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, retaining this workforce in schools in Nigeria has become a herculean task over the years. This study examined sex and job satisfaction on turnover intention of teachers in private schools. Data were collected using cross-sectional survey design technique from 490 respondents in twenty-five private secondary schools across three Local Government Areas. 263 male and 227 female were conveniently sampled, with mean age of 23.1 and SD of 5.2; 361 married, 123 single, and 6 divorcees. Result showed that sex significantly influenced turnover intentions (t = 7.98, df (488), P<0.5). Also, there was a significant influence of job satisfaction on turnover intentions of the private school teachers (t = 2.64, df (488), P <0.5). On the basis of this, the researcher recommended that teachers’ job satisfaction programmes should be taking seriously by management of private schools so as to reduce their turnover intentions. Teachers should not be overburdened and time of engagement should probably be made more flexible for male teachers in private schools; they should also be more incentivized so as to attract them to the job;.","PeriodicalId":330290,"journal":{"name":"LASU Journal of Employment Relations & Human Resource Management","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129681589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, according to the result of the analysis, Clinix healthcare has a strong brand image making consumers more likely to patronize and recommend the brand always. Also, Word of mouth had positive and significant effects on brand image and brand preference, with no significant effect on brand leadership (R2=0.140). This indicates that word of mouth significantly invokes brand loyalty, brand image building, and the desirability of consumers. However, it is not conclusively known how potential members’ characteristics, trade unions’ characteristics and employers’ characteristics interact with organising effectiveness (dependent variable) in Nigeria. Using questionnaire instrument, generated data were analyzed with simple percentages; and chi-square, regression and ANOVA were utilized to draw inferences. It was found that potential member’s age, gender, occupational type, educational status and employment type directly relate to unions organising effectiveness; unions’ characteristics including financial investment had an effect, however, both internal democracy and solidarity had no effect respectively, and uncooperative attitude of employers, employer’s sizes and ages positively related with organising effectiveness; while competitiveness level among employers had no effect. It was concluded that unions’ growth and relevance in Nigeria depend on channeling of unions’ capacity to leverage and boost internal and external effects that are essential to wade off negative forces working against their growth.
