As population in major cities of the world are expanding, it is becoming a complex task to manage the waste operations with limited resources and improve the livability index of the citizens. To address this issue, many smart cities in India piloted the use of smart bins as a measure to get alerts on the waste generation and efficiently plan activities of waste collection. However, such technology although shown to be efficient in operations has its disadvantage in increased cost to maintenance to ensure smart bin sensors are functional, prone to theft and damage. In addition, smart bins have limitation in competence of garbage collection in developing countries. In this paper we define an alternate and efficient method to estimate waste being collected by vehicles using weight estimation technology utilizing smartphone sensor data such as GPS and tri-axis accelerometer. Further, waste collection estimates are utilized as agents based on which stoppages for door-to-door collection are determined and profiled. A system is developed, which generates actionable operational alerts and reports to manage waste operations. Considering the alerts generated, an optimization function is developed to recommend measures to improve efficiency. We further conducted a pilot with Varanasi Smart City to evaluate our technology. We observed promising results in terms of improved collection over time and reduction of overall distance to be travelled for waste collection, through recommendations, thus making a commitment to achieve a sustainable city.","PeriodicalId":329321,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Smart City and Green Energy (ICSCGE)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115052320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, feasibility study about improving an AC system by installation a Cooling panel (CP) for enhance refrigeration capacity and saving power consumption of the system. The study aims to comparison coefficient of performance (COP) between the CP system and the conventional AC system by considering the outdoor humidity variation about 85-87 %RH. From the test results, for both systems when more outdoor humidity, the power consumption of systems is increased but affects slightly to the refrigeration capacity, leading to a decrease in the COP. However, the CP system can increase the refrigeration capacity by 0.43% and decrease the power consumption by 2.47% resulting to improved COP by 2.96% at outdoor humidity 87%RH.","PeriodicalId":329321,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Smart City and Green Energy (ICSCGE)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114306281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such a situation can be dangerous if the conductor is not grounded on both sides, since any contact with it can be related to dangerously high values of the contact voltages. The permissible contact voltage is considered to be the highest value of the voltage that can be applied indefinitely under certain conditions.This creates the necessity to study the resistance of the ground. The paper presents the methodology and the obtained mathematical models for determining the value of the grounding resistance of a disconnected conductor in a three-phase power line, for which the contact voltage is safe, by taking into account the potentials, induced by the non-disconnected phase conductors. Power lines with nominal voltages of 20kV and 110 kV have been considered. The mathematical models have been obtained by implementing the experimental design techniques.","PeriodicalId":329321,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Smart City and Green Energy (ICSCGE)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124860925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to improve the accuracy of current vehicle sound classification, we propose a Sound-Convolutional Recurrent Neural Networks (S-CRNN) method. It combines convolutional neural networks (CNN) and recurrent neural network (RNN). By comparing the weighted F1 score (F1) and error rate (ER), it is proved that the proposed S-CRNN method has better classification performance than the original Sound-Convolutional Neural Networks (S-CNN) method, especially in the vehicles level, the weighted F1 value increases to 28.5%. Long short-term memory (LSTM) and Gate Recurrent Unit (GRU) are both used as RNN for comparison. And the S-CRNN model with GRU reduces the training time by 2.65 hours, maintaining the main performance in the meantime.","PeriodicalId":329321,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Smart City and Green Energy (ICSCGE)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128175492","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
