Experimental Study on Energy Performance of a Split-type Air Conditioning System by Cooling Panel Coupled
Currently, the electric energy consumption is increasing for both residential and commercial buildings in Thailand and the air conditioning (AC) system is highest power consumption ratio. In this paper, feasibility study about improving an AC system by installation a Cooling panel (CP) for enhance refrigeration capacity and saving power consumption of the system. The study aims to comparison coefficient of performance (COP) between the CP system and the conventional AC system by considering the outdoor humidity variation about 85-87 %RH. From the test results, for both systems when more outdoor humidity, the power consumption of systems is increased but affects slightly to the refrigeration capacity, leading to a decrease in the COP. However, the CP system can increase the refrigeration capacity by 0.43% and decrease the power consumption by 2.47% resulting to improved COP by 2.96% at outdoor humidity 87%RH.
