Time synchronization is the basic to cooperation. Many protocols are developed. However, they are either rather complicated or relying on infrastructure such as GPS. In this paper, a physical layer approach is proposed. Without complex protocols and not reliable to other systems, this approach has a better efficiency. The synchronization method is proposed and the corresponding platform is demonstrated. Considering that multiple users are available in cellular network, we present three multi-user scheduling schemes, namely the round-robin scheduling scheme, the suboptimal and optimal user scheduling schemes to improve the security of communication (from users to BS) against the eavesdropping attack. In the suboptimal scheduling, we only need to assume that the channel state information (CSI) of the main link spanning from users to BS are known. In contrast to the suboptimal scheduling, the optimal scheduling is designed by assuming the CSI of the main link and wiretap link (spanning from users to the eavesdropper) that are available. We obtain the calculus form of the secrecy outage probability to analyze the secrecy diversity performance. Secrecy diversity analysis is carried out, which shows that the round-robin always achieves only one diversity order, whereas the suboptimal and optimal user scheduling schemes achieve the full diversity order. In addition, the results of the secrecy outage show that the optimal scheduling has the best performance and the round-robin performs the worst in terms of defending against the eavesdropping attack. However, due to the limited spectrum, video coding has to be developed for efficient video delivery. The core of video coding is compressing video frames by exploiting their redundancy. Aiming at decreasing spatio-temporal redundancy, several video coding standards have been proposed with a hybrid framework during the past two decades. We therefore first survey in this paper the existing standards on video coding. Second, we review some other video coding approaches, which take advantage of state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning technologies, for lessening both spatio-temporal and perceptual redundancy of images/videos. In our KIVC system, we choose Kinect as the camera for capturing the videos, benefiting from the state-of-the-art computer vision toolbox integrated in Kinect. In addition, in order to improve QoE with the constraint on the limited bandwidth, we develop a framework for KIVC system. Then, in our KIVC system, several advanced key technologies are adopted, e.g., fast object-based video coding for real-time data, human-computer interaction, and blurring processing for attracting human visual attention. Extensive experimental results show that our KIVC system has excellent performance and achieves a reliable real-time processing results. There are many species with a similar appearance, which makes it difficult and laborious to classify. Thus, we propose a novel Paphiopedilum Orchid Classifier (POC) based on Neural Network, utilizing the Color and Segmentation-based Fractal Texture Analysis (SFTA) features. In the classification of 11 POF species, POC achieved 97.64% of 10-fold cross validation accuracy. Besides, we also propose a new POF dataset consisting of 100 samples for each species and illustrated the prediction performance of several renowned classifiers such as Naïve Bayes, K-nearest and Decision Tree. Conflict avoidance is one way to manage conflicts. Intuitively, we may try the best to avoid conflicts when initiating a collaborative activity, because we may save the effort of conflict resolution. However, conflict avoidance is a complex task that requires many efforts. We need to know if we could get a reward from our payment in conflict avoidance. This paper sets up a model to evaluate the collaboration performance before and after conflict avoidance; conducts experiments with simulations; finally conclude the benefits for conflict avoidance. Probabilistic programming allows artificial systems to better operate with uncertainty, and stochastic arithmetic provides a way to carry out approximate computations with few resources. As such, both are plausible models for natural cognition. Our work on the automatic design of probabilistic machines computing soft inferences with an arithmetic based on stochastic bitstreams allowed us to develop the following compilation toolchain: given a high level description of some general problem (typically to infer some knowledge from a model given some observations), formalized as a Bayesian Program, our toolchain automatically builds a low level description of an electronic circuit computing the corresponding probabilistic inference. Web service interfaces are defined with WSDL that is described by a bag of terms. Many similarity metrics are proposed to solve this problem, it is hardly to resolve the problem that only few pairs of terms between two services have high semantic distance, the semantic distance of other terms between two services are low. Using traditional keyword search metrics may acquire a wrong result that these two web services are similar. But semantics of the web services is hardly to exploit. In this work we use association rule to find terms that are often appear together and find the most similar terms. We weaken the weight of the most similar term contained in an association rule and enhance the other terms' weight contained in an association rule to solve the situation above. This paper presents a denotational mathematics of fuzzy logical algebra and a formal theory for cognitive inference systems. Fuzzy logical propositions are formally modeled based on fuzzy logical expressions and variables. An algebraic structure of extended fuzzy logic is created by a set of algebraic operators on formal fuzzy propositions. Fuzzy logical algebra provides a denotational mathematical means for algebraic manipulations of fuzzy logical expressions.
