To establish favourable economic and trade\u0000relations, countries integrate more into the world economy and\u0000participate in the process of globalization. This almost inevitably\u0000implies a certain reduction in the level of economic sovereignty\u0000of the states, which forces the governments of the countries to\u0000pursue an adequate policy, on the one hand, not to stay out of\u0000the globalization process, and on the other hand, to face possible\u0000threats of economic sovereignty. From the viewpoint of\u0000confronting the possible threats to economic sovereignty, the\u0000structure of the country's economy and economic proportions,\u0000which show the degree of self-sufficiency and resilience of the\u0000national economy, are essential. In countries that are considered\u0000to have vulnerable economies to external influences, economic\u0000sovereignty is under constant threat. In that case, countries that\u0000have national economies with relatively high resilience are less\u0000vulnerable to threats to economic sovereignty. The paper\u0000analyzes the main macroeconomic indicators, the economic\u0000proportions, the structure of export and import, etc. of the\u0000Republic of Armenia, in the context of economic sovereignty and\u0000possible threats to it. The external trade indicators were\u0000observed in the areas of the integration directions of the RA,\u0000such as the membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and\u0000relations with the European Union. This paper seeks to\u0000examine the outcome drastically shifting the governmental policies: from illiberal\u0000laborism and socialism towards more market-friendly atmosphere on the case o f Israel.\u0000For that purpose, the following research question was formulated: “Under what\u0000circumstances did the government o f Israel change the philosophy underlying its\u0000economic policy-making?”. The methodology applied is purely qualitative. In particular,\u0000taking into account that the case is truly unique and the results are not transferrable a\u0000qualitative “intrinsic case study” was applied. We arrived at a conclusion that the relative\u0000economic success of Yishuv and later Israel that took place before 1985 is difficult to\u0000ascribe to the leftist policies.
