Predictive control is used to replace traditional PI control for bearingless motor suspension. This paper first deduces the mathematical model of the predictive current suspension controller, and then the system simulation is carried out. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can make the rotor levitation more quickly and stably, and has better dynamic index, and realizes the decoupling of motor suspension control and torque control.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114956443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The excitation winding is multicircuit winding with multi layers and multi turns. The parasitic capacitance is significant, and it leads to some problems, such as current overshooting and switching losses of the excitation voltage regulator. Therefore, the extraction of the parasitic capacitance of the excitation winding is necessary. A capacitance matrix expansion method is proposed in this paper. The matrix of the parasitic capacitance of the excitation winding is obtained. Due to the symmetric arrangement of the excitation winding, the capacitance matrix can be divided into many parts. The capacitance values of each part approach to a constant which is called the typical capacitance value. The full capacitance matrix is deduced according to the typical capacitance values. After the full capacitance matrix being transformed and simplified, the lumped parasitic capacitance of the excitation winding can be extracted. This method can both take the most advantage of the flexibility of FEA and avoid the unaffordable hardware requirement when extracting the parasitic capacitance of the multicircuit windings. The simulations and experiments are performed for the validation of this method.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116128779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three parametric modeling methods are proposed and compared from the model perspective. Based on the open-source finite element software FEMM, the parametric model of the PMAREL motor is modeled and post-processed through Matlab code. On this basis, a comprehensive sensitivity analysis is carried out according to an initial design. In addition, the developed three parametric modeling methods are also compared by using differential evolution (DE) algorithm to indicate the machine performance difference. The optimization objectives are the average torque and torque ripple. For lowing the torque ripple further, a multi-level optimization is carried out. From the torque ripple point of view, the result of multi-level optimization is way better than global optimization. The effect of inhibition to torque ripple is significant, which can generally be reduced to about 10%. This paper will show the process of the modeling and some useful suggestions can be concluded through multi-objective optimization.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"125 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121487848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As its core component, the downhole motor needs to have high torque density and high reliability. Permanent magnet vernier motor (PMVM) has simple structure and high torque density, but the traditional surface mounted permanent magnet vernier motor (SPMVM) has low power factor and poor reliability of structure. This paper proposes a consequent pole permanent magnet vernier motor (CPMVM) as the motor of downhole electric drilling system. The results show that the proposed CPMVM can improve the power factor and structural reliability.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131214324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To effectively reduce the cogging torque, this paper proposes a new structure of stator, adding specific rotation angle of the symmetric stator core, namely the symmetrical stator core offset. However, the windings are subjected to dynamic electromagnetic forces during operations. The electromagnetic force has a low frequency component of 50 Hz under the condition of DC bias. In this study, the dynamic mechanical properties of the insulations are extracted from the collected stress and strain data, and a Bouc-wen model is selected to fit the sequential data. In the experiment, a new platform was designed to acquire the stress and strain of the insulations under sinusoidal forces at different frequencies. It is proved that the stiffness and damping are the function of the clamping force. The mechanical parameters of the insulations under normal conditions are different from those under DC bias.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128422539","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, general methods of motor temperature analysis and topology of new HEFS motor are introduced. Then, based on motor efficiency map, the maximum loss working status of HEFS motor is analysed to calculate the motor loss, which mainly includes copper loss, iron loss and eddy current loss of permanent magnet. Meanwhile, airflow field and water flow field are analysed respectively to calculate the convective heat transfer coefficient of water-cooling motor. With motor loss and convective heat transfer coefficient, the temperature of motor components at rated condition, maximum loss and maximum effciency are checked to ensure the safety of motor operation, which is also significant to further improve motor performance.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127718069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper takes the switched reluctance motor used in electric vehicles as the research object. The simulation model of the system is established combined with the characteristics of the switched reluctance motor and the mechanical motion equation. Aiming at the problem that fuzzy control is easy to produce steady state error, a speed regulator of switched reluctance motor is designed based on fuzzy + integral control strategy. It is verified that the system has better dynamic response and steady-state performance after using the fuzzy + integral composite control strategy. Finally, a four-phase 16/12 switched reluctance motor used for EV is tested. The results show that the combined control strategy can effectively adjust the speed and torque of the motor, which verifies that the motor system has high robustness under different working conditions.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123854066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
