In this paper, the dynamic model of the SRIM considering the distribution of rotor current is established and transformed into a form which can be seen as a combination of a normal squirrel-cage induction motor model and a disturbance. Based on the transformed model, a model reference adaptive system (MRAS) based approach to observe the equivalent rotor flux linkage precisely is proposed. Simulation results are provided to show the proposed approach works on the SRIM with better accuracy than the traditional flux linkage observer.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126917700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And the circulating current loss of PMSM is investigated, whose armature windings consist of parallel wires. First, for a 12-slot 10-pole motor with concentrated winding, the distribution of flux leakage in the slot is studied. Then, the impact of the loss caused by the circulating currents in the parallel armature wires is estimated by finite element analysis (FEA). Additionally, the circulating current loss is reduced by transposing and reducing the number of parallel conductors. Finally, the temperature rise experiment of a 12-slot/ 10-pole motor proves the effectiveness of the FEA.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"23 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126031252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, REL motors can be vulnerable to high toque ripple if they are not properly designed. In this paper, a solution for reducing torque ripple of REL motors is presented. The rotors with one flux-barrier per pole is taken into consideration and the flux-barrier end angles are carefully selected. Formulas of the torque are derived and the optimal flux-barrier angle set for minimizing the torque ripple is obtained using the proposed analytical model. In addition, the slot effects are considered in the analytical model. Finally, the influence of the flux-barriers end angles on torque ripple is examined by using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) which aims to verify the analytical results.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"423 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121888841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Integral separation is used to improve the dynamic performance. Moreover, to realize integral self-regulation after torque change, a load observer is introduced. When a large load variation is observed, the load torque integral changes accordingly to suppress the speed fluctuation. So the controller is more reliable. The simulation results show that the PMSM control system has stronger anti-interference ability with the proposed PI regulator.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134412343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has caused new EV charger technology to emerge, such as bidirectional chargers with vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-home capabilities. This paper presents a 20 kW grid connected three-phase active front end (AFE) rectifier for bidirectional EV application. The control strategy is based on voltage oriented control (VOC), which is used to supply the EV with a constant DC voltage. Calculations in the control circuit are done in the synchronous ${dq}$-reference frame, and a phase locked loop (PEL) is used to extract the phase angle from the grid. Space vector modulation (SVM) with symmetrical zero states is used for pulse width modulation of the gating pulses. A LCL filter is selected for attenuating switching harmonics. The complete topology is simulated in Simulink and is tested with an increasing load during rectification, inversion and bidirectional operation.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132585119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a method of minimum switching loss SVPWM (MSL-SVPWM) is proposed. The switching loss equation is presented, and a switching loss calculation model is used to calculate IGBT switching loss. To reduce the switching loss of the inverter, the minimum switching loss SVPWM can distribute the zero vector and active vector reasonably, and make the inverter has three-phase bridge arm or four-phase bridge arm clamping in each switching period. To show the performance of the proposed method, the simulation and experiments are conducted and results are presented.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131856195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Widely used in household small power electrical appliances. However, the efficiency of single-phase asynchronous motors is generally low. The single-phase induction motor rotor adopts a copper strip-rotor, which can not only improve the efficiency of the motor but also avoid the problem of copper casting. However, it will make the starting torque of the motor smaller and the starting current larger. To solve this problem, and improved polyhedron algorithm is proposed to optimize the motor. Firstly, the Taguchi algorithm is used to reduce the dimension of the motor. Then, taking the starting torque multiple and the starting current multiple as targets, the objective function is determined by the response surface method. Finally, the regular polyhedron algorithm with weight coefficient is used to optimize the motor and the final optimization parameters of the motor are obtained. The results show that the algorithm can improve the optimization accuracy and the motor performance is more ideal. Finally, through the prototype production, the optimization effect is verified, which has a certain engineering significance.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132131139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different from the traditional DITC method based on the hysteresis loop control, the fixed switching frequency control by the proposed PWM method is implemented instead of variable switch frequency control. Moreover, with the proposed converter, the dc-link voltage prediction and commutation torque distribution control can be implemented to effectively reduce the torque ripple during the commutation period and improve the efficiency. This article proposes an algorithm suppressing the harmonic currents by using the gradient descent method. First, the effects of the inverter non-linearity are investigated. The analytical expressions of distorted voltages and harmonic currents are deduced. These harmonics will lead to position error and speed ripples in sensorless control system of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs). Then, the cross-product of fundamental and harmonic current vectors is calculated. The result is selected as the objective function. The fundamental current vector is constructed by phase-locked loop (PLL) and sin-wave generator. Furthermore, the harmonic currents are suppressed by minimizing the objective function. The process is realized by the gradient descent method. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by simulation.","PeriodicalId":327731,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 4th Student Conference on Electric Machines and Systems (SCEMS)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125846533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
