This study uses a factorial design analysis research method with a structural transaction research model. Data analysis was performed using AMOS (Moment Structure Analysis) which is used for hypothesis testing. This research involved a research sample of 350 Muslims consisting of administration staff, teachers, students, and other staff at tertiary institutions. The research findings show that taqwa and gratitude make a positive contribution to emotional intelligence. Individuals who have high piety have the ability to assess and control their emotional levels. In addition, based on research results, individuals who have piety and gratitude have the ability to better understand and distinguish between positive and negative emotions because these individuals have a good level of understanding of the teachings of the Islamic religion. Individuals who have high piety and gratitude are also able to respond well when others are angry with them and act with compassion. Taqwa and gratitude can increase individual empathy, thus contributing to emotional competence and individual emotional intelligence. This research resulted in the originality of the findings, namely taqwa and gratitude affect the emotional intelligence of Muslims in dealing with various problems. In addition, the study of piety and gratitude is accompanied by self-development of the Qur'an to examine its relationship with the emotions and souls of Muslims. This can enrich the literature on Islamic religious scholarship. The implication of this research is that if someone is able to increase this devotion and gratitude, that person will be better able to manage emotions, so that they can create a harmonious atmosphere both at work and in the family environment.

Zimbabwe has endured one of the world's most puzzling economic catastrophes, characterised by extreme unpredictability and instability. Since the year 2000, Zimbabwe's socio-economic landscape has changed dramatically following the introduction of radical economic policies such as land redistribution and indigenisation. Since then, the economic fortunes of Zimbabwe have nosedived, with economic convulsions and unpredictability becoming the norm. This peculiar period of the country’s history has also seen far-reaching changes in the religious sector as prosperity gospel has risen to become probably the most influential religious force in the country. This paper documents how, in the face of socio-economic challenges, Zimbabweans have sought solace in charismatic churches championing prosperity. It argues that the uncertainties triggered by collapsing social and economic fabric have led to the rise of a charismatic \u0000prosperity gospel movement in Zimbabwe. Its growth has been aided by a 'spiritual healing' infrastructure that supports believers in various ways.

Employing a critical analysis of Barth's theological works, with a particular focus on 'das Nichtige' (nothingness), it uncovers a fresh understanding of Barth's theological intentions concerning the problem of evil. Barth's theology highlights the inherent malevolence of evil and its ultimate defeat through Christ, providing a theological framework for addressing post-pandemic suffering challenges. This reinterpretation holds specific relevance for Indonesia's and global Christian community, offering a practical theological foundation for navigating the pandemic's aftermath. The research's implications extend to theology and ethics, offering a new perspective on how Christians can comprehend and respond to suffering in a post-pandemic world. Informed by 'practical theodicy,' Barth's theological insights prompt a reconsideration of our approach to evil and its implications for human existence. This paper reevaluates Karl Barth's theology of evil through a contemporary lens, presenting a novel \u0000interpretation that is particularly valuable to scholars and theologians seeking fresh viewpoints on the enduring issue of suffering. Moreover, it offers practical guidance for Indonesia's Christian community in addressing the challenges posed by the global pandemic.

This article focuses on discussing Qira’ah Mubadalah or reciprocal interpretation initiated by Faqihuddin Abdul Kodir, a male feminist ulama who was influenced by the empirical reality of Indonesian Muslim society. With a qualitative approach, the data in this article were obtained from the Qira’ah Mubadalah book and the Mubadalahi.id website. This article finds that the idea of Mubadalah with the concepts and principles of mutuality and partnership between men and women is based on religious texts which place men \u0000and women as the subjects of the text. Narratives about women's involvement at the beginning of Islam in the 7th century and the role of Indonesian women in the \u0000educational, social and political fields since the 17th century have become the spirit and inspiration to fight for gender equality. In the hadith of the Prophet, the basic principles of mutuality are based on the values of brotherhood, commitment to doing well, compassion, mutual communication and helping each other. Furthermore, to find the principles and values of mutuality and partnership between men and women in Islamic teachings, a thematic study was carried out by referring to the Quran and other hadiths of the same theme, understanding the text contextually and inclusively, considering the validity of the hadith, and refers to authoritative hadith books. The involvement of men in rereading religious texts is more easily accepted by the Muslim community because it is not confrontational, does not criticize but rather provides alternative interpretation options that are accommodating to differences in interpretation among Muslims. Rereading of gender-just religious texts needs to be done as a prerequisite for realizing a just and equal society for men and women in the Muslim community.

Purwoko, Sr Wahyuni
Sin which is a violation of God's law, makes humans stray away from God and causes damage to the relationship between them and God. Humans can't get back in touch with God unless they have received forgiveness from God. The purpose of this paper is to ascertain the meaning of forgiveness as it is expressed in the Gospel of Matthew 6:14-15, through a biblical study based on the Byzantine Greek text of the Bible. The approaches taken were an exegesis and a descriptive literature methodology approach. The result obtained in this limited study is that the meaning of forgiveness in the Gospel of Matthew 6:14-15 is that there is a connection between the first clause and the second clause used which is a conditional sentence along with its negation. Based on the grammatical and lexical structure of Matthew 6:14 the second clause is an apodosis of the first clause, where the second clause is the answer to the first clause which is the prosthesis. So the sentence apodosis will apply if the prosthesis is fulfilled, \u0000as well as in the next paragraph which is the sentence negation. When the prosthesis in Matthew 6:15 is not performed, then the apodosis in Matthew 6:14 becomes invalid. Also, Matthew 6:14-15 cannot be separated from Matthew 6:12, where the translation of this verse grammatically states that God has forgiven humans first, and this is the basis for Matthew 6:14-15. This was emphasized by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 18:35. Christians in Indonesia should understand the meaning of forgiveness that the Lord Jesus taught, so that after a person has repented and become a Christian, he or she remains in Christ and keeps their life holy and forgive others, as a form of response to God, for the forgiveness that the Lord Jesus has given to them. Thus there must be repentance including a change of heart about one's actions or one's whole life. Atonement is needed as well which is making reparation after one has committed an offense.

As a result, some educators believe that postmodernism is the declared end of education. The biblical story has significance for the Christian faith and Christian ethics and serves as a strong basis for a complete worldview to face the challenge of the postmodern world. According to this viewpoint, the biblical story offers solutions to the most important problems in life, such as: Who are we? We are where? What is the issue? What is the remedy? It draws on the renewed awareness of this connection, that developed in public debate in France, after the arson of eminent cathedrals, and in Germany, in debate about the reconstruction of historic buildings after reunification. The controversies are presented and viewed with regard to the changing contexts of secularisation, migration and religious plurality. The recent debates are understood as indication of a gradual recognition of the role of ‘symbolic landscapes’ and of the value of relating to them, for the sake of strengthening the bond with historical identity and heritage, as intrinsically connected. The growing or reluctant realisation that this includes the religious dimension, is noted – with both Christianity and Paganism. Theory about the symbolic function of eminent religious buildings is included. This is considered, in particular, with regard to religious and cultural pluralism as condition of reception, for a strengthening of a common and shared symbolic landscape, relevant to identity. It includes a view to ‘pilgrimage’ as mode of connecting to such sites. The essay also takes restored and rediscovered sacred sites in Africa into view. Here the disruptions and devaluation of historical identity due to colonialism is kept in view as background. Eminent examples of reconstructed shrines as centres of a spiritual and cultural geography, reinforcing collective and individual identity, are presented, as. An example of active appropriation of ancient sacred sites of previous populations is also mentioned, from South Africa, as means of cultural and spiritual ‘territorialisation’.

However, some mosques are built over pre-Islamic places of worship or are considered sacred by non-Muslims. This has the potential to trigger interfaith tensions and conflicts. This article argues that mosques should be spaces and symbols of peace, religious tolerance, and multiculturalism. The study uses direct observation and compares textual and material evidence related to several large mosques in different countries. It concludes that mosque construction should consider historical and interfaith sensitivities, uphold the sanctity of places of worship, and avoid all forms of heresy. Mosque architecture and buildings can be a mirror of harmony and pluralism. Mosques are aesthetically adaptive and accommodate local wisdom, culture, and religious traditions. Historically controversial mosques cannot be justified and imitated as Islamic mosques in general. Mosque construction must prioritise peaceful views and rational spiritual understanding to maintain harmony and pluralism.

In this article, the Nahum text serves as an example of how people suffering the threat of war experience trauma because of oppression, fear, and loss. To facilitate the discussion, a selection of texts was made and analysed to show how the Assyrian threat and invasion resulted in trauma for the people of Judah. A literary, contextual, and historical methodology was applied to analyse the selected text passages. Besides this analysis of the selected texts, affect theory in conjunction with a trauma approach was utilised as a framework to engage with these texts. This combined approach offered a new and exciting lens focussing on emotions. Affect theory is an emerging area of study where aspects such as emotion, culture, and textual bodies become important as impetus in the study of the Hebrew text (cf. Cottrill, 2014: 432). The exercise performed in this article not only enriched the engagement of the Nahum text but showed the relevance of the research for current situations of war and the resulting effects of trauma.

Da'wah methods are often subjected to change considering the time, place and context. There are no limits to the way of doing Da'wah, however, at all times one should keep his intention free from evil. Increased accessibility by shifting from face-to-face to digital preaching allows for a more comprehensive reach of Islamic teachings. This article examines how digital da'wah and theological discussions conducted by Habib Husein Ja'far Al Hadar to Indonesian society have been received. Public interest in the preaching model delivered by Habib Husein Ja'far Al Hadar has raised a lot of debate and enthusiasm from various religious circles. Da'wah in the digital era has a profound significance as it allows religious messages to spread widely and quickly. However, despite its great benefits, anonymity and lack of supervision in the digital world can trigger the spread of extremist views or promote radical groups.
