By identifying the systemic weaknesses in various areas of station disbursement accounting arising out of lack of training, non-availability of important corporate policies and management directives and lack of standard procedures for preparing and dispatching disbursement reports to head office, a comprehensive Stations Disbursement Manual was developed to train and empower the managers at stations to control and release payments in a responsible manner.","PeriodicalId":32665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Experiential Learning Case Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47126012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Diabetes mellitus was associated with over 7.7 million hospitalizations in the United States in 2008, contributing to the incidence of inpatient hyperglycemia and increased hospital costs [1,2]. The management of inpatient hyperglycemia is affected by a multitude of factors, including acute illness, concurrent medications, inconsistent caloric intake, and insulin administration [3]. Stress hyperglycemia and various medications such as corticosteroids, calcineurin inhibitors, and atypical antipsychotics can increase glucose levels in patients, with or without diabetes mellitus [4]. Additionally, outpatient oral antihyperglycemic agents are typically discontinued during hospitalization to prevent complications with inpatient management, furthering the risk of hyperglycemia. Conversely, inconsistent dietary intake due to illness-associated loss of appetite, “nothing by mouth” (NPO) dietary precautions, and improper insulin use may increase the risk of hypoglycemia [4]. Hyperglycemia in hospitalized patients with or without diabetes mellitus has significant impact on patient care as it has been associated with worsened outcomes, including increased rates of infection, longer lengths of stay, and increased mortality [57]. Therefore, effective inpatient hyperglycemia management is essential to optimize patient outcomes.","PeriodicalId":32665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Experiential Learning Case Studies","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90800627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to colonize the oral mucosa C. albicans must adhere to the epithelial cell lining while avoiding being killed by host antimicrobial factors. This infection occurs in a diverse group of patients that have some risk factor such as the use of dentures, corticosteroid inhalers, cigarettes, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and immunosuppressive and chemotherapeutic agents. Patients with HIV, diabetes, and iatrogenic or autoimmune-induced dry mouth are also at substantial risk for Oral Candidosis [1].","PeriodicalId":32665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Experiential Learning Case Studies","volume":"37 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81360321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rapid influenza test was positive for influenza B. The patient did not receive the influenza vaccine.
