Skin cancer most often appears as moles. Seldom people are aware about the skin cancer. If detected at early stages then it can be cured. We propose an improved design of Gabon filter which is combined with Vedic algorithm (Urdhva Triyagbhyam) to give faster convolution result. The exertion has proved the efficiency of Urdhva Triyagbhyam which is the Vedic method of multiplication that enables parallel generation of intermediary products that eliminates unwanted multiplication steps with zeros and scaled to higher bit. In this paper we employ the filter design appropriate for detecting the early stages of skin cancer using textural properties of skin.","PeriodicalId":325841,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Computing Communication Control and Automation","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114688454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Snakes have unique capabilities for moving on a wide range of terrain. The snake robot, rather than wheeled and legged mobile mechanisms, offers high stability. The paper presents a design of a snake robot that possesses the ability to map and navigate in its surroundings and also to find the possibility of human life. The snake robot is designed using sensors such as Ultrasonic sensors, PIR sensor and is designed to a moderate size segments so that easy locomotion is possible. The most effective movement pattern, flexible locomotion gaits such as side winding, crawling, plunging and leaping can be implemented on a snake robot. The snake robot can be used for many applications such as search and rescue operations in collapsed structure and inspection of tightly packed space that people and conventional machinery cannot access. To make the snake robot work or function like a real biological snake, it is constructed using many joints that enables the robot to have various degrees of bends, and gives the robot ability to be flexible enough to reach or approach different terrains. This ability of snake robot enables it to move around in complex environments.","PeriodicalId":325841,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Computing Communication Control and Automation","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123880459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Major factors influencing in the designing an efficient digital filter are computational requirements, memory and finite word length effects. In order to meet these requirements, the order of the digital filter must be kept as small as possible by selecting appropriate filter design method. For Simulating the performance of the digital filter, the filter coefficients are specified with floating point data type but for implementation on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) they must be represented with fixed point data type to minimize cost and power consumption by minimizing the word length. A minimum order Finite Impulse Response (FIR) digital filter is designed for filtering noise from audio signal. It is synthesized using Xilinx ISE9.1 for Spartan 3E-1200 FPGA board using Factored Canonic Signed Digit (FCSD) and Distributed Arithmetic architectures for optimal utilization of FPGA resources.","PeriodicalId":325841,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Computing Communication Control and Automation","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121700480","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this modern era popularity of 3D hardware is increased but, 3D contents are still dominated by its 2D counterpart. Until now many researchers have proposed different methods to close this gap. Mainly, these conversion methods are categorized in an automatic method and semi-automatic method. In automatic method human intervention is not involved, where as in semi-automatic method human operator is involved. There are distinct attributes that can be considered during conversion, like for video conversion motion and optical flow are mostly considered parameter, while for image conversion local attributes of images are considered. Computational time and design cost are the main design metrics that should be considered while designing algorithm. Each method is having its own pros and cons, depending on specification which method will be suitable for conversion is decided.","PeriodicalId":325841,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Computing Communication Control and Automation","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121845927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several metaheuristics have been applied to find near optimal solution for resource constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP). In this paper, Genetic-Local search algorithm (GLSA) is proposed to tackle the single mode resource constrained project scheduling problem. The objective of Genetic-Local search algorithm is to minimize makespan of schedule. Genetic-Local search algorithm combines elements from evolutionary and local search procedure by using priority based crossover, neighbourhood mutation operation and neighbourhood search procedure. The algorithm treats the solution of the resource constrained project scheduling problem as activity list and serial schedule generation scheme is used to generate the solution. For solving case studies in PSLIB Library, Performance of GLSA is found out against other metaheuristics. The results show that Genetic-Local search algorithm is a high quality approach that outperforms all recent algorithms for the resource constrained project scheduling problem known by the authors of this paper for the instance sets J30, J60, J90 and J120 and it is competitive with other heuristics for the instance set J30, J60, J90 and J120.","PeriodicalId":325841,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Computing Communication Control and Automation","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115254374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This procedure can be used for enlarging as well as contrasting digital image. Image interpolation techniques are used for various applications such as consumer electronics, medical imaging and digital radiograph. There are various algorithms are available for image scaling. These techniques are mainly divided into two types such as adaptive and non-adaptive image interpolation. These two interpolation techniques are further divided into various types. In this paper, these different adaptive and non-adaptive image interpolation techniques are overviewed and compared on the basis of their performance parameter i.e PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio).
