Therefore, national and local governments have supported implementation of such systems, to improve the mobility in cities. In some intermediate cities in developing countries, the implementation of these systems has been based on developed transport systems for large cities (with different operating conditions), without considering advances in service integration and standardization, in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) frameworks. In addition, such implementations do not take into account enabling technologies such as new wireless communication standards featuring improved range, availability and accessibility. In order to improve this situation, we propose the design of an FMCS using ITS services based on an adequate ITS architecture, considering budget constraints and the need for a technology that improves relevant characteristics. We also evaluated the case of eight intermediate Colombian cities that are implementing transportation systems known as Strategic System for Public Transport (SSTP or SETP per its acronym in Spanish) in which one of the main components is an FMCS, and made some recommendations on the design of the system in these cities based in our purpose.","PeriodicalId":325696,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd Latin American Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS LATAM)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131382514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, the mirriads of embedded sensors included in cars are used to produce rich datasets that improve the operation of the vehicle, support tasks for fleet management and improve safety and efficiency. In addition, autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles communicate each to others and to their surrounding infrastructure to coordinate their operation and support new services. In these new scenarios, it is imperative to establish a secured, trusted and decentralized database that support these services. Recently, many researchers and companies have been exploring how Blockchain, a distributed ledger technology (DLT) successfully applied in other industries, can be used to support ITS services. This talk introduces blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies (DLT), presents some projects and initiatives aiming to apply these technologies in the transport industry and discusses which ITS services can be improved by using them. However, goods movement is an important issue regarding livability and competitiveness of a country, having more efficient transportation systems can be the difference between success or failure of economies as reported in the LPI (Logistics performance index). Recent technology development such as information systems, internet of things and collaborative economies can be an answer for solving transport inefficiencies. Literature has reported the use of intelligent transport system as a useful tool to improve efficiency, safety and environmental performance of vehicles and transport systems. Below novel system and its real application that is based the concepts of supply chain collaboration is presented, resulting in important benefits for companies involved, improving utilization rates, and diminishing number of trips and costs. Finally, some practical implications are presented.","PeriodicalId":325696,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd Latin American Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS LATAM)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121831680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Large companies in the automotive industry plan for autonomous cars to arrive in the consumer market in the next few years and the need for them continues rising due to traffic accidents numbers been so high. In this paper, an autonomous driving system is proposed using a neural network for steering control and a fuzzy based system for pedals control. First, the input variables of the system are described and then the proper architecture of the proposed system is presented. As performance and safety are critical for this particular application, different metrics regarding those aspects are explained and then used for evaluation. Based on this, results that validate the proposed system are given.","PeriodicalId":325696,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd Latin American Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS LATAM)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123824668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With consideration of the road transport accounting for 75% of the world’s total carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel combustion. There is a continuous growth of the world population around 1.2% per year, concentrating on large urban nuclei. In this context tries answer this next question. What should we conduct to balance the energy saving and the demand of mobility?. And the same time reduces CO2 emission. It is necessary to give a good management, intelligent, sustainable and with the possibility of acting in real time that reduces CO2 emissions. The green intelligent transport system is the way to give solutions. Focusing on transport by road, the proposal is based on increasing the use of transport that uses renewable fuels. New energy vehicle technology and applications are important topic in the green ITS. The fundamental objective is to promote the use of electric vehicles. Electric vehicles will be part of a sustainable mobility strategy in the future. The limitations of low autonomy and slow recharge time have already been overcome. Electric vehicles due to their connectivity, design and configuration are easier to integrate ITS applications. Currently, the only vehicles whose emission of CO2 is 0% during movement are electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles. Finally it is important to consider that the energy that recharges the vehicles comes from a renewable source.","PeriodicalId":325696,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd Latin American Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS LATAM)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123830408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
