The proposed method first characterizes the harmonic components from the EMI test data. Then proper time-domain component model (e.g. square, sinusoidal, or convergent oscillation, etc) is identified based on the frequency and amplitude of the harmonic components in the spectrum. Finally, the identified time-domain components are quantified. As an application of this method, the EMI spectrum data of equipment under test (EUT) is used to identify and quantify its major time-domain components. Comparisons between the time-domain components obtained by the proposed method and measured by oscilloscope are presented, which show the accuracy of the proposed method. It was demonstrated that the shielding effectiveness data simulated in FEKO agree with the measured results accurately. The requirement of the antenna is wider beam coverage with lower axial ratio and higher antenna efficiency. The results of measurement are agreed with that of simulation by using the EM simulation tool GEMS. To implement such a multiple-antenna structure in handset environments, conventional design approaches rely on fine tuning the geometric parameters of antenna layouts. In this paper, a completely different framework is implemented to develop the multiple antennas. Rather than tuning the geometric parameters, we discretize the design space into several pixels. Afterward, powerful multi-objective optimization algorithms may automatically find the best antenna topologies by varying the distribution of these pixels. Our preliminary results show that the impedance requirement of each antenna can be met, and the mutual coupling between the multiple antennas can be kept at a very low level Most importantly, all the performances are automatically determined by the pixelated design technique. Commonly found routing imperfections such as trace breakout, via discontinuity and AC coupling capacitor pad capacitance need to be further optimized to meet the desired channel specification based on bit error rate (BER). Upfront modeling and analysis of such imperfections at high frequencies can mitigate expensive board redesigns to achieve the desired performance. This paper demonstrates the impact of each such routing imperfection(s) for data rates up to 40 Gbps. Model to hardware correlation is performed to ensure model accuracy. For bigger reading area, the overall fabricated size of a dimension of 80 × 80 × 0.8 mm3, achieves a reading zone of 30 × 30 × 3.14 mm3 with good impedance matching and uniform magnetic field distribution over the bandwidth of 913-932 MHz. The proposed full wave dual loop antenna is suitable for handheld radio frequency identification reader, especially for water applications in the food-production chain.
