Namely, the question of planning of production process as well as process preparation to manufacture a desired product will be discussed. The article shows planning and production actions on the example of a production enterprise. The technical scope necessary in preparation of each production was presented as well as selected ways for inseparable connections and machines found in manu-facturing halls were discussed. The characteristics of an enterprises manufacturing metal workshop furniture as well as workshop cars equipment was shown. The course of manufacturing process planning was depicted. Due to presented plans of the production hall it is possible to view the whole process. Some changes in that plan to streamline production and extend it in the future with a new range of products were suggested. The paper demonstrates a three-stage DEA based on slacks-based measure approach to evaluate the energy efficiency of U.S. industrial plants. Also, a 3-step approach to select relevant variables to be employed in slacks-based measure model. The paper has revealed inefficiencies of industrial plants, which were considered as efficient ones examined individually in energy audit procedure. The results indicate that half of analysed plants are not performing at high energy efficiency, given a total of 6 facilities were operating efficiently. It shows that these industrial plants appear to have the potential to reduce their energy use and cost. Moreover, the results were enriched with the additional analysis of input excesses and output shortfalls and further suggestions for improving energy efficiency are provided. There are also many articles which treat Logistics 4.0 as a new paradigm. Regarding the fact that there is little amount of publications in the Polish language related to Logistics 4.0, the authors are going to fill identified research gap. Systematic literature review methods were used. The purpose of the research was to define Logistics 4.0 and answer whether it is a new paradigm or a set of known technical, technological and organizing solutions. he analysis covered domestic and foreign publications selected according to an empirical criterion. The literature review proved that Logistics 4.0 is not characterized by features of a new paradigm in management sciences. Logistics 4.0 is a connection of known technical, technological and organizational solutions. The only novelty is a mere connection of above solutions in a consistent logistics concept. For this purpose, the informationenterprise was defined, as characterized by a change of balance between the processing of materials and processing of information. In section 1 the genesis of the considered transformations was identified, proposing their classification on three levels. Section 2 was devoted to the characteristics of the information-enterprise as an organization of self-learning, virtuality, networking and bio organization. The importance of industrial development trends 4.0 was mentioned. In section 3 features of object-oriented programming were connected to examples of solutions in industrial practice. The business model of information and its surroundings was definded. The summary pointed out the advantages of object-oriented approach to transformations in production. Some of the key elements in production management according to the Lean concept include: correcting mistakes (e.g. TQM), eliminating the existing muda (e.g. Kaizen, 5S) increasing effectiveness of value adding processes (e.g. TPM) and reducing duration of activities that are essential, but do not generate added value (e.g. SMED). The article involves examples of using tools of the Lean toolbox (i.e. VSM, Spaghetti plot) at the stage of identifying losses in a chosen production process.
