This multi-fields character returns the analysis of these systems often to realize according to each discipline in an isolated way, thus masking the interactions between the fields and complexes the total analysis of this supply chain. From where the idea to introduce new approaches particularly conceived to model all fields according to a whole coherent and unified, and brings legibility in term of interactions analysis, which gives a clearer global vision of chain. It is in this context that we propose to apply the Petri Net in the supply chain while we extended the Petri Net traffic model to study the dynamic behavior of physical flow on supply chain. We have transposed the concepts developed for the traffic to the supply chain.","PeriodicalId":324478,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Logistics","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133336908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the pressures from both environmental awareness and business sustainability, several companies must work in collaboration to solve partially the problem of waste recovery. The purpose of this work is to help those companies who would like to pursue reverse logistics as axe of profit. In this paper we present a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model which includes several costs of collection, treatment and sales income from secondary market. The goal of study is to investigate the best material flows between different specialized facilities under capacities constraints and costs minimization. The model is sub divides in two levels: the first level concerns the collect process while a size of each product is compared to a standard size to optimize the storage capacity of collection centers. Then to unify the request of several products or classes of products, in the second level a running time is added instead a processing capacity by product and used to facilitate the study of multi-product case. This proposed optimization model can help to determine the optimal facility location and the material flows of network for multiproduct in pseudo dynamic case. The usefulness of the proposed model is a real design of reverse network with considering the uncertain quantity of collected product and a progressive investment. To give to the study an illustration, we present an example to regard the recovery rate using Lingo 12.0 solver.","PeriodicalId":324478,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Logistics","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115053413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to achieve this, data mining uses different computational techniques from machine learning, statistics and pattern recognition. In this work, a Data Mining techniques is used to help the Decision Maker of a Marin Transportation Firm called “SONOTRAK” to allocate a ship for a trip. The target is to ensure the transportation between “Sfax” city (Tunisia) and a closed island called “Kerkennah”. The fleet of “SONOTRAK” consists of five ships with different passenger and cars capabilities. The obtained classification gives groups of similar trips. Each class will be subject to arrange available ships according to the history of allocated trips in the last year. The most used ship will be the preferred one, and so on. Each ship will have a fitness value calculated according to this arrangement and to its fuel cost. The ship with the better fitness value will be allocated to the trip. The result ensures better management of the fleet of the company, and gives effect not only on the overall traffic but also on the fuel costs.","PeriodicalId":324478,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Logistics","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124638990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A comprehensive case study which presented in detail involves a multi-stage, multi-product, multi-location, multi-resource with setup, capacity constraints and stochastic demand. The case study objective is to determine a fixed optimal lot size for each manufactured product type that will ensure Order Mean Flow Time (OMFT) target value for each finished product type. For a comparative purpose, three SO methods are used: (1) A metamodel method based on Response Surface Methodology (RSM), (2) A metamodel method based on Factorial Design, and (3) Global Search method based simultaneously on Tabu Search, Neural Networks, and Scatter Search. Methods (1) and (2) have been treated in the literature with a manual based approach, while the method (3) using the OptQuest Software will be more addressed in this paper,. The results of the comparative study show that the first method which is based on RSM is very effective while the third one is very practical and gives a good satisfactory solution.","PeriodicalId":324478,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Logistics","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114184514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We are interested in the environmental investments decisions in the design phase and propose a multi-objective optimization model that captures the a compromise between the total cost and the environment influence. This work addresses the optimization of the supply chain design considering economical and environmental issues. We explicitly consider two objective functions. The first one, measures the total cost: fixed setup cost, environmental protection investment, transportation cost, logistics cost, waste treatment cost and energy consumption cost. The second one, measures the total CO2 emission in all the supply chain. The strategic decisions considered in the model are warehouses and distribution centers location, building technology selection and processing/distribution planning.","PeriodicalId":324478,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Logistics","volume":"46 3-4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114011843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem is to decide the task paths and select lanes to be reserved in a capacitated network to ensure that each commodity can be transported from its source to destination within a given travel time, meanwhile the lane's capacity is not violated. Its objective is to minimize the total impact of all reserved lanes on other normal lanes. To solve this problem, two integer linear programming models are formulated. The complexity of the problem is proved to be NP-hard. Then an algorithm based on a cut-and-solve idea is proposed to obtain optimal solutions. To evaluate the performance of our proposed algorithm, numerical experiments of randomly generated instances are conducted. Computational results show our algorithm significantly outperforms a well-known optimization software package CPLEX.","PeriodicalId":324478,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Logistics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129696735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It proposes a numerical index which can be used to measure sustainability for different supply chains in actual practical settings. This approach also provides the opportunity to visualize variable interdependencies at system level and also presents a method to compare supply chains on sustainability dimension. The research would help to understand the dynamics between different variables and sub-variables of a sustainable supply chain and more importantly. It would facilitate organizations to identify the areas in which the supply chain is lacking and need immediate attention to improve the overall supply chain sustainability. Numerical assessment of supply chain sustainability by transforming it in an index is a unique attempt in the area of supply chain management.","PeriodicalId":324478,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Logistics","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128352143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
