Despite its undoubtful economic benefits for service\u0000providers and consumers, there are numerous negative impacts which can be\u0000related to the sharing economy, ultimately leading to unsustainable tourism\u0000development on destination level. In general, sharing economy can be attributed\u0000numerous benefits, but in terms of tourism, it recently became closely related\u0000to the issue of overtourism, thus becoming one of the initiators of negative\u0000attitude of the local community towards the future tourism development.\u0000Therefore, the concept of sharing economy has been in the focus of numerous\u0000researchers during the last several years, with increasing number of papers\u0000being published since 2016. This research is focused on analyzing the evolution\u0000and importance of sharing economy within the tourism study. The focus is given\u0000to the bibliographic analysis of journal articles within the “sharing economy\u0000in tourism” search. The\u0000present study examines the place brand - medical tourism nexus using data\u0000generated from a sample of n=233 conveniently sampled inbound tourists. Exploratory\u0000Factor and Multiple Regression Analyses were applied to the data. It emerged\u0000that South Africa's socio-cultural place brand was found to be a statistically\u0000significant heuristic cue, positively influencing medical tourism to the\u0000country, pivoting aspects such as the country's cultural practices and colonial\u0000heritage, as some of the key considerations in the decision making the process\u0000of tourists when considering South Africa as a medical tourism destination. Critically, the results associate medical\u0000tourism with the socio-cultural profile of South Africa, through the place\u0000brand as a heuristic cue for information symmetry. The study enriches both\u0000place branding and medical tourism discourse by providing empirical evidence of\u0000the nexus between the two constructs. Practically, destination marketers are\u0000provided with critical insights into tourist perspectives, and it is\u0000recommended that African governments and medical tourism facilitators collaborate\u0000to develop a nation branding theory-based framework as a decision support model\u0000for proactively managing and communicating the image of South Africa as a\u0000medical tourism destination

A mixed-methodological approach was employed in the data collection and analysis. Semi-structured questionnaires were administered to 387 respondents, selected from the six surrounding communities, at the study site. The study also purposively selected and interviewed some key informants. The study revealed that the local communities did not contribute much to the sustainability of the Sanctuary. At the time of the study, the national government received most of its economic benefits at the expense of the local communities. The study recommends the involvement of the neighbouring communities in the development of ecotourism in the Sanctuary, as well as the introduction of structures that help to ensure equitable distribution of the economic benefits accruing from ecotourism.
Despite several advances to\u0000comprehend tourism impacts and its relationship with sustainable development\u0000challenges, there is still a lack of worldwide examples of strategies for\u0000sustainable tourism development of destinations. Particularly in less developed\u0000European regions, tourism development strategies are still poorly implemented,\u0000emphasising the need to support them towards more balanced policies and actions\u0000that can effectively promote a sustainable tourism destination. The Island of Chios in Greece faces several\u0000challenges in order to develop such a strategy. Besides being a region\u0000particularly affected by the financial and refugee crisis of the last years, the Island does not have a Land Use Plan\u0000approved so far or any Strategy or Plan for Tourism. As such, the main goal of\u0000this paper is to propose a planning framework for sustainable\u0000tourism development of the Island of Chios considering the United Nations\u0000Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. To accomplish such goal,\u0000the research involved a serious of different steps through an action-research\u0000approach based on a three-month internship at the local municipality. The\u0000qualitative and quantitative methodology was developed with the input of local\u0000key stakeholders and it enabled to identify the critical need for developing a\u0000sustainable tourism strategy for the territory. Results show that Chios is a\u0000destination with potential growth and increased competitiveness and\u0000attractiveness for visitors but major steps would have to be taken for the\u0000establishment of a participatory sustainable tourism strategic plan that could\u0000involve all the stakeholders and promote a sustainable growth and a more\u0000balanced development of the region.

After a literature review,\u0000we lead a fieldwork based on workshops in which we conducted two questionnaires\u0000and we analyze the behaviour of students through the method of tutor\u0000observation. The results show a relationship between their soft-skills, and a significative negative correlation between perceived skills and the limiting beliefs. In recent years, several attempts have been made to measure\u0000those effects and value the level of sustainability of every destination. A\u0000clear example of this is the European Tourism Indicator System (ETIS). In the paper, the results are presented of a\u0000project which aimed to test indicators of sustainable tourism in coastal\u0000destinations of Catalonia, Istrian Region, and Tuscany Region. The results of\u000033 collected indicators are available on the online platform of the project\u0000INTERREG MED MITOMED+. During the first year, in every category of indicators\u0000(economic, social-cultural and environmental) only some indicators were\u0000collected, which was expected because different regions apply different\u0000methodologies. The collected data is the starting point that shows destinations\u0000how the indicator can be obtained and what its purpose is. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of domestic\u0000tourists' sensation seeking on their holiday preferences according to their\u0000level of change seeking. A questionnaire was developed based on previous\u0000literature and data were collected among domestic tourists who inhabit the\u0000Adana city center and who had holiday at least once a year. Overall, data from\u00001,580 respondents entered the data analysis stage.
