The effectiveness of the method has been tested on several variants of polydisperse system models obtained in two different ways and one system obtained by full-scale modeling. The distribution of the mass density for both methods of generating model systems allows you to choose the better option. For a system obtained by the field simulation method, a difference in properties is shown depending on the position of the observation center. This paper introduces the MaDiS program which implements the developed method.","PeriodicalId":319537,"journal":{"name":"Computer Tools in Education","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125901076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If the road network is represented by a graph with edges and nodes, it is enough to mark most populated with Traffic Accidents (TA) edges by adding to a attribute of the edge some penalty and the routing algorithm (Dijkstra or Bellman-Ford) will try to avoid this edge automatically. To estimate safety gain, a Relative Risk Ratio RRR= (TAs along route which avoids TA hotspots/TAs along original route) was used. Computer simulation was performed for St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. It is shown that for the same start and end points of the route, an average RRR gets smaller by 14.5–36 % depending on original route length. It is also shown that the cost for improving vehicle safety is an increase in the route length (by 8–10 %) and an increase in the number of nodes in the route by 3–12 % is required.","PeriodicalId":319537,"journal":{"name":"Computer Tools in Education","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116197850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the experiment is to introduce students to the university course of mathematics with a parallel repetition of those sections of school mathematics that determine the success of mastering the university program. The developed course implements the following methodological approach — the creation of integral teaching materials that combine various representations of mathematical concepts. The integrity of such teaching materials is manifested in the use of connections between mathematics and theoretical informatics, the connections of various sections of mathematics with each other using a variety of computer tools available to schoolchildren. The possibilities of dynamical geometry are analyzed and discussed in detail when the concept of derivative is introduced.","PeriodicalId":319537,"journal":{"name":"Computer Tools in Education","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114765987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theoretical analysis is accompanied by a discussion of basic examples of changes in the main content course lines, such as the algebraic line, the function-theoretic line, the line of equations and inequalities, the geometric line, the stochastic line, the line of discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science. In the process of constructive analysis, such types of changes are considered as: a shift in emphasis from operational activities to modeling, which is associated with the development of “computational thinking” (computational thinking); the use of digital representations of mathematical concepts for the formation of mental images of mathematical concepts and increasing attention to the operation of mental images; studying the material at various levels of complexity through the use of computer models; study of algorithms that are used in computer mathematics systems; the development of horizontal connections both in the methodological aspect through the increasing role of integrative plots that combine various sections of mathematics and computer science, and in the aspect of general pedagogy through the construction of common information spaces for the interaction of educational communities and the expansion of their participants.","PeriodicalId":319537,"journal":{"name":"Computer Tools in Education","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116579481","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Commodity machines are less reliable than expensive mainframes. Applications deployed on commodity clusters have to deal with failures that occur frequently. Mostly, these applications perform complex client queries with aggregation and join operations. The longer a query executes, the more it suffers from failures. It causes the entire work has to be re-executed. This paper presents a fault tolerant hash join (FTHJ) algorithm for distributed systems implemented in Apache Ignite. The FTHJ achieves fault tolerance by using a data replication mechanism, materializing intermediate computations. To evaluate FTHJ, we implemented the baseline, unreliable hash join algorithm. Experimental results show that FTHJ takes at least 30% less time to recover and complete join operation when a failure occurs during the execution. This paper describes how we reached a compromise between executing recovery tasks for the least amount of time and using additional resources.","PeriodicalId":319537,"journal":{"name":"Computer Tools in Education","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125078535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This problem consists in finding for each natural k the smallest such s =v(k) that all natural numbers n can be written as sums of s integer k-th powers n = ± x1k ± ... ± xsk with signs. This problem turned out to be much harder than the original Waring problem. It is intimately related with many other problems of arithmetic and diophantine geometry. In this part I discuss various aspects of this problem, and several further related problems, such as the rational Waring problem, and Waring problems for finite fields, other number rings, and polynomials, with special emphasys on connection with polynomial identities and the role of computers in their solution. As of today, these problems are quite far from being fully solved, and provide extremely broad terrain both for the use in education, and amateur computer assisted exploration.","PeriodicalId":319537,"journal":{"name":"Computer Tools in Education","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124319133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Autonomous sensor networks serve as desirable platforms for multipurpose tracking due to their redundancy and reconfigurability. However, the network implementation makes it impossible to use the classical centralized approaches to filtering, since each sensor has limited computing power and limited access to the measurements of other sensors. In addition to topological limitations (each sensor can only communicate with several neighboring network nodes), communication between sensors can be limited, for example, due to limited bandwidth of communication channels, delay and data distortion. This article proposes a new algorithm for distributed tracking of multiple targets in a sensor network, which is a combination of the SPSA algorithm and the local voting protocol. The algorithm is consolidated under conditions of unknown but limited noise, the algorithm step size is optimized, and simulation is carried out to confirm the algorithm’s performance. Possible applications for the algorithm are also described.","PeriodicalId":319537,"journal":{"name":"Computer Tools in Education","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123464088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods for cleaning and growing single crystals by slowly moving a narrow melt zone along the length of a polycrystalline ingot of a solid material are considered, as a result of which, due to recrystallization, the impurities dissolved in the ingot are redistributed. The final distribution of impurities depends on their initial distribution, the number and width of the melt zones, and the direction of their movement.
