However, based on the field studies result, students still have difficulties to understand about poetry concepts. Therefore, researchers have submitted a solution for students to understand that concept of poetry can be easier by applying ‘Metaphorical Thinking’ approach that learns about the knowledge of poetry. The purpose of this research is to find out if Metaphorical Thinking approach is better in helping student to understand concept of poetry more than student who learns using conventional approach. The research method used is quasi experiment which means Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Furthermore, the samples in this research is 20 students of eight-grade from Innovative Al-Ibda Junior High School. Moreover, the technic of data analysis for students test result is by using SPSS 23. Based on the results in SPSS 23, it turned out that experiments class using Metaphorical Thinking approach gained better study result than control class. That result was proved by value Sig 0,000<0,05 in Independent Samples Test table. That result is also accorded with obtaining post-test average value in experiment class which is 80,5 while the average of control class is 64.","PeriodicalId":319465,"journal":{"name":"JLER (Journal of Language Education Research)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114857632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this case, Novanto stated that he was involved in this case and even became the main suspect in the E-KTP procurement project. News that contains framing does not mean that the news is false news. In framing a news, the information obtained by a journalist is processed by constructing the contents of the news and presenting it to the public. Some are highlighted and some are excluded. While the data analysis technique used in this research is based on AWK Faucault’s theory which has two main focuses namely power genealogy analysis and knowledge archeology analysis. From the data analysis that has been done, some conclusions can be described. First, the news made by Detik.com has an argument and descriptive nuance that explains Sandiaga Uno's statement regarding the size of Tempe which is almost the same as ATM card. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on lesson study. The subject of this study was VII-F class students of MTs Nurul Falah, Cimahi City. The instruments used were observation sheets, RPPs, Student Worksheets (LKS), and test sheets of students' ability to write observational report text. The finding of this analysis is that implementing theprogram lesson study showed an increase in students' writing ability in the observation report text. This is known by the increasing number of students who show independence in the learning process, students are able to analyze the structure and rules of language contained in the text of the observation report. The background problem in this research is that most students are not interested in writing poetry because poetry is considered as difficult; they have difficulty finding imagination and figurative words. The researchers have three research objectives based on this problem. Namely to describe the teachers and students activities when learning to write poetry by using an acrostic technique, to describe students' responses on learning to write poetry using an acrostic technique, to discover the difference between the results of the initial test and the final test in class X students at SMK. In this research, the Pre-Experimental Designs (non-design) method of one group pretest-posttest design is used and a research towards a class with 28 students is conducted. Observations, tests, and questionnaires are used as the research techniques. The results of the data obtained are the increase in student value. The average value before using the acrostic technique is 40.35 and the average value after using the acrostic technique in learning to write poetry is 79.00, the significance value indicates 0,000 based on the t test. The value is smaller than 0.05, thus the data is different from the results of the initial test and the final test. In other words, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that learning to write poetry using an acrostic technique increases students' ability to write poetry.","PeriodicalId":319465,"journal":{"name":"JLER (Journal of Language Education Research)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123928175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method used is one-group pretest-posttest design, which compares the experimental group before being given treatment (pretest) and after being treated (posttest). The research subjects were 33 Chemistry A class XI in Padalarang Vocational High School 4 as many as 33 people. The ability to write short stories is measured by writing tests composing short stories. The average value of pretest = 63.9, posttest average value = 73.7. There is an increase in the average value after treatment of: 73.7 - 63.9 = 9.8. The results of the pretest and posttest were then processed with SPSS, namely the normality test, variance homogeneity, and t test. The normality test obtained the P-Value (sig.)
