The study utilized a quantitative approach, employing a descriptive pre-experimental Intack Group Comparison design. The findings revealed that students' understanding of a moderate attitude significantly increased after participating in group counseling on moderation, with a positive score of 97.5% and a negative score of 2.4%. The inclusion of religious moderation as a theme in group counseling positively impacted students' comprehension and attitude towards religious moderation within society. Notably, two indicators, national commitment and tolerance, exhibited the most significant improvements, with respective increases of 35% and 29%. It zeroes in on five predominant influences: political, economic, social, cultural, and ideological.\u0000Design/methods/approach – A historical research method was the primary tool, with data from various written records—comprising legal documents, regulations, and textbooks. A chronological lens was employed for analysis, with categorizations influenced by pertinent regulations and the prevailing zeitgeist.\u0000Findings – Of the factors, political dimensions, especially government stances and policies, took precedence in curriculum development. Furthermore, aspects like economic strides, prevailing social conditions, and national ideologies such as Pancasila (Indonesian state philosophy) bore significance in shaping the curriculum. The insights gathered suggest a pivotal role of socio-political dynamics and scientific progress in dictating madrasah curriculum changes.\u0000Research implications/limitations – While this investigation furnishes deep insights into a specific period, its temporal scope poses limitations, suggesting a potential exploration post-2013 and scrutiny of other influencing variables.\u0000Practical implications – The study underscores the pressing need for the continual evolution of Islamic education in Indonesia, aiming to cater to societal shifts. There is an evident emphasis on weaving together diverse threads, upholding universal tenets, and championing local sagacity.

The study employed a qualitative methodology, specifically utilizing phenomenological research and a descriptive method. Data collection involved interviews, observations, and examination of relevant documents. The participants in this research were Madrasah teachers responsible for teaching various subjects at the ibdtida'iyah, tsanawiyah, and aliyah levels in Lombok. The findings revealed the development of a learning model that integrates all aspects of education to foster the exploration of akhlak karimah values, which are defined as objectives in the affective domain. These values were identified based on the students' needs and were subsequently incorporated into the curriculum through student-centered integrated learning. The implementation of the proposed model follows a similar pattern and concludes with a dedication to this approach.

It is equally important for student teacher candidates to engage in field practice activities that promote self-reflection. The main objective of this research is to investigate how self-reflection among prospective Islamic Religious Education teachers contributes to the development of their professionalism. The study involved six participants from two universities, namely Unisba (Universitas Islam Bandung) and UPI (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia). Qualitative methods were employed, utilizing case studies based on Stake's approach (1978). The data collection process involved interviews, observations, and documentation techniques. The analysis was conducted through several stages, including data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results reveal that reflective practice enhances pedagogical competence by implementing high-quality, innovative, and creative teaching methods, particularly within the classroom setting. These findings have practical implications for the field practice of Islamic Religious Education teachers in schools. They serve as a valuable resource for teachers to develop new strategies in addressing challenges within the teaching and learning process, ultimately contributing to their professional growth and establishing cultural references.
