It was conducted by using experimental research design. This population was the 80 students of SMP Negeri 1 Stabat as Sample. The samples of the research were two classes divided into two groups, experimental and control group which were chosen by using random sampling technique. The Grade VIII-B as Experimental Group was taught by using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition and grade VIII-A as control group was taught by using conventional teaching writing. The instrument used to collect the data was by asking the students to write a Recount text. Based on the result of the data analysis, it was concluded that using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition significantly affect the student’s ability in writing recount text (t-calculated > t-table, p=0.05). The using CIRC made the students write recount text grammatically that without using CIRC. The calculation of t-test is 2.38 > 1.67 with df 78 and the level of significance 0.05. The reliability of the test is counted by using Pearson Product Moment formula. The instrument was used to collect the data were multiple choicetest consisting of 20 items and essay test consisting of 20 items. Then the writer checked and gave score for both tests. The scores then were displayed in tables. After the data had been collected and analyzed, the findings showed that the value of t observed that is 0.50 is higher than the value of the ttable. Effectivement, dans nos societes globalisees, la prise de conscience interculturelle qui, d’apres le Cadre Europeen Commun de References pour les Langues (CECRL) (Conseil de l’Europe 2001) figure parmi les competences generales qu’un apprenant d’une langue etrangere doit acquerir, s’avere indispensable si l’on veut garantir une interaction reussie entre personnes de differentes cultures. La connaissance, la perception et la comprehension de la culture cible, ainsi que la prise de conscience des similitudes et differences avec la culture source favorisent le developpement de la competence interculturelle et par consequent l’elimination des stereotypes, tout en donnant acces a un enseignement base sur la tolerance et le respect pour la diversite culturelle et la comprehension mutuelle. Dans ce travail, nous nous proposons de verifier comment les manuels d’espagnol langue etrangere (ELE) contribuent a la construction de la competence interculturelle. Pour cette raison, en premier lieu, nous exposons sommairement comment est aborde le concept d’interculturalite dans le CECRL, ainsi que dans le Plan Curriculaire de l’Institut Cervantes. Par la suite, nous nous proposons de restituer les resultats de l’analyse qu’on a menee en ce qui concerne les activites qui constituent la composante culturelle.","PeriodicalId":31863,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Applied Linguistics","volume":"1 1","pages":"6-24"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69271031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MOGEDs are online testing applications, available for teachers of Modern Greek as a second or foreign language (L2). They are mainly addressed to adult potential candidates for CGL’s language exams, willing to assess their language competence level. MOGEDs are compliant with the standard levels (A1-C2) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (Council of Europe 2001) as adapted for Modern Greek. In this paper, the structure of MOGEDs will be analysed and compared to equivalent e-diagnostic tests in terms of the technical architecture adopted.
